My computer kept getting slower and slower. I did what I could, ran malware software, disc defragmentation, file clean up. Nothing helped. So, a friend at work told me about Al, I sent him a text message just to inquire if he serviced computers in my area (he did). He responded within about an hour.
We set a time for him to come by the house and do a preliminary diagnosis of the problem. My thoughts were with everything I had done meant my hard drive was crashing. Al came over on the scheduled time and day, maintaining regular text updates (which I found to be very professional). Once he arrived, and started doing whatever it is he does, (internal tinkering is not my thing unless it's a Harley) and soon discovered it was in fact the hard driver crashing.
Al explained to me that my hard drive was a mechanical one with moving parts and due to it's age was wearing out. Al said it could last another year or go out in a week. Okay wide range there, however, it was true. Just like carbureted Harleys, over time they wear out.
Al suggested changing out the hard drive and updating to a SSD from a HDD. He said it would be faster and have a much longer life span because it has no moving parts. Okay, that sounded good to me. So right there on the spot he gave me my choices, 1TB, 2TB, or higher, which ever I wanted. Gave me the prices and I decided on the one I wanted to go with.
Now, here is where Al's integrity and professionalism comes into play. He was explaining to me the inner workings of my system, and how I had room to expand my memory to much more than I currently had and a few other upgrades as well. He gave me the pricing on those also, however, Al then told me he did not recommend the additional upgrades as I'm not a gamer and did not really need the added upgrades unless I really wanted them. He also told me I could get them down the road if I decided I really wanted them. Then Al told me NO charge for him coming out and performing the initial diagnostic check.
We agreed on pricing, he ordered the SSD right there on the spot. Now this was a Thursday evening. Said he'd have everything on Saturday; however, I could continue to utilize the computer until then. Al called the next day and asked if he could come by and pick up the computer. I said yes that would be fine. He said he would need it for a few days in order to install the new drive and clone the old one. He called Saturday; said he was working on it found a few other issues that he was going to correct while he had it (no extra charge). al called Saturday evening said my computer was done and could he drop it off Sunday. He showed up with my computer set it up, ran a preliminary and everything was fine. He added a few features that I did not have before, which I am still experimenting with.
Al's pricing was spot on, extremely reasonable, his work is impeccable, his integrity and professionalism is among the best. And in my culture, obtaining this level of respect is not easy. That said, I highly recommend mobile computer doctor (Al) any and all of your computer needs. you can bet I will put the word out favorably to the MC community at the mobile computer doctor should be the only one to work on our systems and can be trusted. Appreciate the integrity and professionalism Al, you now have a customer for as long as you're in business. Much respect, sir. read more
