Danny was fantastic! We broke down, car overheated, no coolant fluid, on a Sunday afternoon, driving through Payson, AZ. We couldn't get in touch with anyone. AAA towed the car to the O'Reilly Auto Parts parking lot. We started calling places that possibly could work on the car, left a lot of messages, nobody could even look at the car until Thursday of that week. Mobile Auto Repair returned our call the very next morning saying they could look at the car at 9:00 am. Danny arrived and soon determined that the coolant reserve tank had a broken nozzle. He went to O'Reilly's and got a new tank, replaced it in the vehicle, made sure there were no leaks or bubbles in any lines, and we were on our way. His pricing was very fair for labor plus parts, plus he was there when he said he was going to be! I wouldn't hesitate to call him for assistance for any of my auto repairs. Have to say that Danny was great! My Ford Five Hundred with 282K mi broke down and I needed to get the vehicle back to CA next week. It would run for 10 seconds then bog out and die. I towed the car to my house here in Payson. Danny was able to fit me in the following day. Unfortunately, we had a snow and ice storm that night. He called me the next day and asked if I could wait another day since it was cold snowing and raining. I had no issue waiting since I wasn't going anywhere anyway. The next day he called me about an hour before my appt and said he could come early. He arrived and got right to work. He did a complete scan and the car was giving all sorts of codes saying both engine banks were running too lean. I told him that the fuel pressure sensor was replaced about 900 mi ago. He then checked the voltage to the end of the wiring harness and plug. It was good. So we determined that the best starting point is to replace that sensor in case it was a faulty unit that was previously installed. (I should know better than to buy car parts from ebay) He also noticed that one spark plug pigtail was holding on by 1 strand of wire and a mouse had chewed almost all the way through it. So he fixed that as well. He then plugged his computer back in and ran a full diagnostic test on the entire engine system and all the codes were gone. The car was back up and running well! Danny also pointed out other areas that could become problems for me down the road. The top motor mount was broken and a valve cover gasket is leaking oil. He did not try to upsell me to fix those things. He just wanted me to be aware. His pricing was $100 per hour for labor plus parts that were not marked up. This is very fair. Don't hesitate to call him for your auto repairs. He seems like a great guy and gets the job done. And........ you don't need any Vaseline. Thanks Dan! read more

We had the best care from Ed, from Mobile Auto Repair in Payson! He spent a lot effort finding a the necessary parts, finally finding three parts between two stores, eventually. He replaced our tire with our spare, but the bigger problem was with a wheel bearing. Ed was courteous and friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Mobile Auto Repair, Payson AZ: On 6/22/2020 my alternator failed in Payson, AZ. I called Mobile Auto Repair who charged me $650 for a Genuine Leece Neville alternator. The new alternator failed within 30 days. On 8/7/2020, in the alternator shop that sold it to Mobile Auto Repair, Turbo & Electric in Phoenix, AZ, they told me the alternator is not a Leece Neville, but a Chinese brand that sells for $262! And that is what Mobile Auto Repair in Payson, AZ,  paid them for the alternator. My total bill from Mobile Auto Repair was:  $996.42! So Mike Ernst the owner of Mobile Auto Repair, not only misrepresented the new alternator he installed as being a genuine Leece Neville and part number, he also way over charged me for a lesser quality product that was actually a Chinese alternator knockoff! read more

I'm not sure what that person is complaining about. They arrived promptly and fixed the car quickly. The price ended up being less than what I thought. My car had completely broken down and wasn't running and within an hour and a half he had arrived, left for parts, returned, and fixed the problem. The car ran smoothly the rest of the drive home to Phoenix. On a final note- fixing a car is much like fixing a computer. Sometimes you have to test what you think is the problem and it is impossible to be right every single time. Perhaps that person should just get towed to their mechanic next time so they don't have to see what I'm sure every single mechanic would have to do in his position. In short, I believe the 1 star review was written by someone who was put in a stressful situation and being overly critical of a process that they are unaccustomed to viewing. read more

He charges $50 for the service fee and then left me and my two boys and my sister stranded at AutoZone in Payson because I said that AutoZone was going to help me pay for the repair says they popped a fuse on my car and left my car dead!!! we were stranded from Phoenix in Payson this guy is unbelievable leaving a woman stranded there were two young boys stranded it is so far from home don't ever use this guy... what a piece a sh#t!!! My 99 jeep blew a trans cooler line 9-1-13 ( labor day weekend) in Payson. No dealers open, no auto repair centers open. I drove the jeep to O'rielly auto parts, to find out the parts were not available. They suggested I call Mobile Auto. I called and the on call service tech returned my call promptly. He explained the cost and agreed to come out shortly. He had the parts on his van and had the repair done in less time than expected. He also charged what I consider a fair price for the circumstances. I would recommend them and if needed will call them again. read more

I went to Payson with my friend for a quick weekend getaway and was lucky enough to find Big Mikes Auto repair when I had problems with my truck. I work for a repair shop in the Valley and know what it can cost for road service calls so when my 2005 Escape started dying I figured I was in trouble. Mike quickly diagnosed the problem as a fuel sensor and was able to get the part and fix it quickly. As with any business he had a service call fee as well as the charge for the part and labor but in my experience his cost wasn't as high as I expected it to be. I felt his mark-up was very reasonable for the situation I was in and he was professional and friendly. I would feel very comfortable using his service again and would recommend it to anyone in the same situation. read more

If I could give 1/2 of a star, it would still be too much. Do NOT use this company to repair your vehicle! My vehicle stopped running outside of Payson on the highway and I was towed back into Payson...the only mechanic that could get to me (Thursday afternoon) was this company. The problem was a shorted electrical wire. His "diagnosis" was throwing fuses in just to have them blow one after another. Then, started removing parts---only to never get it to run, until he found the shorted wire! Suffice it to say, $450 later, my vehicle finally started and I was able to get it back to the Valley. I ended up taking it to another mechanic, to discover that he hadn't reconnected all of the wiring/sensors after he put in a new fuel pump, filter, oil sensors, fuel filter (that took him 2 hours and 2 different fuel filters to finally get it done...after he had cursing melt-downs---). The oil sensors had to be replaced because he broke them during his melt-down with a 2 ft. prybar in my engine compartment. Don't use this guy! He got the parts from Checker Auto in Payson ... his cost was 82 bucks ... he billed me 180! Nice mark-up, and I had no other option.He knew I was stranded, and had to get my vehicle home! If you have *any* other option to get your vehicle operational, do it. I didn't need any of the parts he put in, and billed me full labor and cost for! If he had looked for the short which was indicated by the fuse that kept blowing in the first place, I could have been back on the road in a much shorter time, and without the additional cost of unnecessary parts and labor. read more

I have required the services of Mobile Auto Repair several times in the last year. I have found them highly reliable. I have never been charged for a visit if nothing is to be repaired. As a woman and senior citizen, it is a pleasure and a relief to know that I will not be taken advantage of if I have a question or concern. And the fact that I can count on them to arrive at my door and help me with those concerns is a great advantage.
