This place was absolutely the best place to break down , as I was traveling AZ & NM for a few months my sleeping van broke down I saw excellent reviews for Miller Automotive so at 3:30 pm I called he said it's probably the starter but bring it in and he would get me back on the road today .........really????? a few minutes he shows up to where I am broke down to see if he could help, we get back his NAPA authorized service center and Steve has me back on the road with new starter and battery terminals. I had an oil pressure sensor warning error light in my 2014 Ram Promaster van while vacationing with the family in the Payson area. This shop was recommended by a cousin living locally. They bent over backward to quickly fit me into their very busy schedule. Then, a few days later when it appeared the repair had some issues, they got me right back in to investigate. They were totally honest, admitting it was their mistake and quickly re-did all the work at no cost to me (but substantial to them). I wish I had a local shop like this one. read more

I was passing thru Payson and my ignition coil etc on my truck went out on my way home to Gilbert, unfortunately it was a Sunday and nothing was open- and had to spend the night. Contacted Steve on Monday morning to have my 99 Ford F350 Super Duty looked at and was back on the road by 10am. On a road trip, car breaks down. Same sad story with a heroic intervention by Steve and his crew. Getting needed parts for my new (ish) Audi would take a day, so he "thinks outside the box" and destructs the filter in the power steering reservoir - freeing up the clogged flow and enabling my journey to continue. Yes I'll need a new power steering pump and a new reservoir and filter, and yes at low RPM my power steering didn't work but on the highway it worked great - at least for the 400 miles to make it home. My car now has over 120,000 miles. Steve Miller has been maintaining it since I bought it with 30,000 miles. Because a normal oil change includes so many checks, I have complete confidence in driving my car with such high mileage. If something is wrong, Steve catches it. If scheduled maintenance is due, Steve tells me. I just stopped in (a few minutes before opening) and asked him if he could order a turn signal bulb for me and give me a call when he could install it. He came out, changed the bulb, told me I could pay for the part with my next oil change! That quality of service is so very hard to find in today's business world. read more

I happened to making a cross country trek, and my car overheated in Payson, had to stay the night... 85 miles from my final destination of Tempe after 2200 mile drive. I found Steve online, and he was also recommended by a local oil change shop (who also helped me out, thanks Victory Lane Oil Change). He diagnosed my vehicle and he was very busy... no promises he could get it fixed that day. I sat in his shop and watched him deal with every customer, on the phone and in person... with a personal touch. He cared. You can tell he cares about the community as well. He also cared enough about this out-of-towner who was stranded for the night with his dog and a car load of stuff... and was able to fix my car at a more than fair price and get me on my way. I was on my way across the country on a major relocation, and my car overheated just outside of Payson. I was in a definite bind and very stressed out by the situation. I quickly searched for a good local repair shop with the expertise to diagnose what was going on with my car. I was very thankful to find Miller Autoworks and have the benefit of Conor, one of the owners, take a look at my Honda Civic. He was obviously very busy at the shop the day I pulled up, but he understood the urgency of my situation and he took the time to very carefully run a test and diagnose my car's blown head gasket. He wasn't able to repair it for me in the urgent time frame that I was dealing with, due to their shop being so busy. (And for good reason they are busy!) But I appreciate that he laid out very concisely my various options for repair, and resolution of what I was dealing with. Being able to consult with a calm, trustworthy, and highly knowledgable mechanic while in the middle of a very stressful experience was super helpful. I rolled into Payson on my way back to Phoenix and had a problem with my engine. Miller Auto Works and Steve the owner were recommended to my by the local NAPA parts store when I asked for an honest mechanic. I called and spoke to Steve and 3:45 PM on a Thursday afternoon (just before Labor Day!) and he said to bring my car in and he would do his best to get me back on the road. I got their by 3:50 he had one of his techs pull the error codes from my car and determined that one of the ignition coils was bad. He ordered the part, had it installed and me back on the road home by 4:40 PM the very same day! AND, he charged a reasonable fee to do all of this. His shop is very clean, he has a great personality and is very concerned about providing a great customer experience. Had my Superduty towed to Miller Auto Works the afternoon of 3/22/18, my pickup completely wouldn't start, battery was fine, just wasn't getting gas. Steve went through the fuel system and concluded the fuel pump was bad, Steve called me with the results and an updated estimate, and may I say $100 less then the original. He finished all that work, and there was a lot, Within 24 hours of being dropped off by the tow truck. I personally thought it wouldn't be ready for a few days. It was Ready within 24 hours and under budget, Can I give you 10 stars Steve! I am from out of town and had an issue with losing my brakes from overheating. They seemed to recover, but I was concerned about whether they had been damaged. The next day I called Miller Auto and talked to Steve. I was leaving the following day and a little worried about going down the mountain to Phoenix. He told me to bring my car in and he would have it checked right away! I was there for no more than an hour, and Steve actually showed me the brakes when they took the wheels off and explained what I was looking at. The thermostat and thermostat housing was not replaced when an honest competent mechanic repaired the car. That suggests that Miller misdiagnosed the problem. Also, he confuses quality with quantity. The final proof is that he wanted $804 and the job was done correctly and all is now well for $375. In short, he is a rip-off artist. read more
