When I was recently asked to go dancing at the Mobil, I thought it was a joke. "Are you.... asking me on a date to a gas station?" As it turns out, yes. Mobil is a gas station, and it's also a restaurant, dance bar, and local hangout hotspot. A few days later, on my way to Mono Lake, I happened to pass by Mobil, since it's located right at the junction of the 120 and 395. Surprised that it was, in fact, more than a gas station, I obviously had to stop by to check it out. The interior was a lot like a normal gas station, except bigger, with more souvenirs, and a staffed hot food counter. From the gas station counter, I purchased a couple of small souvenir stickers. From the hot food counter, I ordered a single slice of barbecue chicken pizza, which I took outside to eat. The line was long, and did not move quickly, but I eventually received my pizza. It was not very good. The crust tasted like cardboard, and the toppings were somewhat negligible. It seemed a little too high priced for the quality. The ambiance, on the other hand, was great. The outdoor seating area is full of picnic tables overlooking Mono Lake, with a small stage for live music, and a lawn enveloped in fairy lights for dancing. Most of the people eating outside were being friendly and talkative with each other. I could see how it could be a fun place to dance and have some drinks. Although I wouldn't come back for the pizza, I would come back to check out the dancing and live music. Plus, the view on the drive back to Yosemite was new to me. Out of the 3/4 ways I've driven in/out of Yosemite, these views were my favorite so far. Overall, this is a neat spot to recharge, grab a few souvenirs, and, if you're desperate enough, maybe even a bite to eat.

So when you get down to its a gas station with the pricing one would expect given its remote / tourist area location. The attached convenience store / mini general store is pretty vast and the restaurant is legendary. The views are simply fantastic and place was spotless including the bathrooms. Not much more you can ask for

I like the famous fish Taco. The cheese burger was conventional. Would come back if we drive by again.

Excellent spot to capture a view of Mono Lake. Souvenirs…read morewere antique and valuable; but worth collecting. Well stocked Yosemite Tioga Road gift shop and gas station. Lots of selections of beverages and snacks, but they were pretty pricey. Certainly worth a visit while you're traveling in Mono County and Yosemite National Park Tioga Road.

This is a 5-star gas station, mart, and deli, but the food is closer to 3-star. Any hot food made…read moreto order at a gas station near a national park is already a godsend, so I can see how this place has so many fans. First, this is only open in the summer. So if you find yourself this part of town while there's snow, and Tioga Pass is closed, don't even bother. Second, it does take a while to get food since they seem to make them to order, so if you're in a hurry, grab the ready-made items or snacks. We were pretty skeptical of fish tacos all the way out in the mountains, so we settled for the lobster and crab taquitos. Honestly, the taquitos felt like they came out of the freezer and weren't that special, but the rice was really good! I'd come here for a pit stop, but it's not like I have to eat here, unless I have a long journey ahead with no food. Bonus: they have plenty of seating including outdoor seating with a fantastic view of Mono Lake!
