When I was recently asked to go dancing at the Mobil, I thought it was a joke. "Are you.... asking me on a date to a gas station?" As it turns out, yes. Mobil is a gas station, and it's also a restaurant, dance bar, and local hangout hotspot. A few days later, on my way to Mono Lake, I happened to pass by Mobil, since it's located right at the junction of the 120 and 395. Surprised that it was, in fact, more than a gas station, I obviously had to stop by to check it out. The interior was a lot like a normal gas station, except bigger, with more souvenirs, and a staffed hot food counter. From the gas station counter, I purchased a couple of small souvenir stickers. From the hot food counter, I ordered a single slice of barbecue chicken pizza, which I took outside to eat. The line was long, and did not move quickly, but I eventually received my pizza. It was not very good. The crust tasted like cardboard, and the toppings were somewhat negligible. It seemed a little too high priced for the quality. The ambiance, on the other hand, was great. The outdoor seating area is full of picnic tables overlooking Mono Lake, with a small stage for live music, and a lawn enveloped in fairy lights for dancing. Most of the people eating outside were being friendly and talkative with each other. I could see how it could be a fun place to dance and have some drinks. Although I wouldn't come back for the pizza, I would come back to check out the dancing and live music. Plus, the view on the drive back to Yosemite was new to me. Out of the 3/4 ways I've driven in/out of Yosemite, these views were my favorite so far. Overall, this is a neat spot to recharge, grab a few souvenirs, and, if you're desperate enough, maybe even a bite to eat.

So when you get down to its a gas station with the pricing one would expect given its remote / tourist area location. The attached convenience store / mini general store is pretty vast and the restaurant is legendary. The views are simply fantastic and place was spotless including the bathrooms. Not much more you can ask for

It seemed like cafeteria food, when your given a basket of items and have to build the burger with condiment packets.

I like the famous fish Taco. The cheese burger was conventional. Would come back if we drive by again.

The sign is happier than the workers and your milkshake experience. Walked in to see a bored young man. Since we came with a group, one of our friends asked what flavors they had since the menu screen was not working. The reply was snarky as he scoffed and pointed to a small paper. The milkshake making put it all together though. One of the kids' vanilla milkshakes arrived and we realized it was looking a little brown (major red flag) but she still took a sip and it tasted weird. That's when the guy making the milkshakes told us so casually "oh yeah, I added some cocoa powder (/chocolate) to it, does it taste different?"(Spoiler alert: yes, duh, it did.) We did not order chocolate. Imagine if someone had an allergy! Next, we realized they were making the milkshakes in a batch order set up. All the milkshakes for all the orders at once then all of the other items one at a time for all of the orders at once. Crazy! (Example: if order 1 orders milkshakes then order 2 orders french fries and order 3 orders milkshakes they will make all the milkshakes for order 1 and 3 and then the fries for order 2, rather than going in order of who came first.) They also had run out of whip cream completely and were almost out of straws. After taking so long to only get 2 of our milkshakes we decided to cancel the rest of the order. But ah, this is not the end, very sadly. Before leaving, we asked for a refund and the guy seemed genuinely lost and confused saying "uh what why?" Why do you think?! We told them why and how they ran out of everything essential and did not have the basic ingredients they need. They denied, but we persisted and finally got our refund. And reading the other reviews it seems there are multiple people working there like this! DO NOT COME HERE!!! WASTE OF TIME!!! And finally, last but not least, for the cherry on top, THIS WAS A SAD EXCUSE FOR MILKSHAKES!!!!

You can find any essential needs here. Small store but has everything. A simple gas station - Public restroom with keylocked - snacks - housemade bakery / bread / pizza / brownie / muffins / cookies. We did not get chance to try their popular pizza and lemon curd cake. But the blueberry muffin's good and really big ( forgot to take picture ). Super friendly - welcoming staff. They got too busy the time i came. But all of them are great in helping customers. Restroom not only for customers. Just ask key at cashier. Nice clean single restroom with keylocked. "Make sure lock the door before leaving. " Highly recommend if you around mammoth lake or travel to crowley lake. Quick stop but can't be forgotten.

I tend to love shopping at these local markets when visiting smaller towns in the Eastern Sierra because they typically have great local goods, fun merchandise, quality local charm and character, and lively local operators who are happy to see you there. We popped into this shop in search of water and some ice cream novelties, which we certainly found, but beyond that, it was pretty bare bones and basic. The shelves were also pretty sparse, and the selection a bit thin too. Usually you can find just about anything you need in one of these stores, but unfortunately I'd say that you'd need to visit here and Ken's to guarantee you'll find what you need and may even find yourself driving to the next town for certain things. The shop is good in an emergency moment, but could be much more.

This store is a very critical stop for anything you'd need in between big shopping trips out of town. It has a good variety of touristy souvenirs, pantry staples, grocery items (meat, dairy, some produce), and items you'd find at a hardware or drug store. If you are in town for a fishing trip and need supplies...if you are passing through and want to pick up some snacks or goodies (try the Bridgeport Coffee Roasters coffee beans--they are delicious!), then this is a great stop for you.
