Some of the wine at Mono Market.

Lee Vining is a small town and Mono Market is a great market. It carries a good selection of food items and other supplies. Our cabin is in June Lake and the grocery store there is larger but sometimes I find food items like vegetables looking better at Mono Market. It's convenient when we drive through Lee Vining to shop at Mono Market. There are shops down the street and across the street. The people whom work there are very friendly and courteous. I love the vintage market, it's in the original shape and is clean inside.

Amazing selection of liquor, that you cannot get anywhere else in the surrounding area AND as an added bonus we found our favorite chocolate bar here in the candy section. Great place to stop with items you would never expect this far out

Stopped in here on our way back from a backpacking trip. Just wanted to get a couple of cold beers. Prices were high, but I fully expected that. They had a small selection in the back of singles, along with the others - six packs, 12 packs, and 18 packs. Found a couple of singles, pint size aluminum bottles, and paid the bill. I added it up even with taxes and deposits to be about 3 1/2 to 4 dollars, using the sticker price that was on each can. After getting in the car and driving to a nice location to enjoy a beverage, I started looking at the receipt. For some reason, dude charged me like five bucks! I couldn't figure out why the price was so much higher than the prices that were stuck to the cans. I suppose that's how these little places make their money! Well, I will watch a little closer next time! Fool me once, shame on me! Fool me twice? Well, you know! Live and learn! Are

Good selection of items, including fresh produce, however - I was shocked that a single loaf of bread cost me $6.80

We stopped in for sandwiches to take on our hike. Food and service was good. A little pricey like most things in the area.

The store was well presented, featured a nice variety of fresh fruit and vegetables and being just three days before Christmas, the place was jumping yet organized and friendly. On this occasion, we were able to use the bathroom, as we've been doing for the last 15 to 20 years and purchase some snacks. My wife chose some apples and cheese that we shared in the car, as well as some candy. As we checked out, the cashier asked if we wanted to contribute to the local food bank, and we would not even have known had she not mentioned it. It was our pleasure to contribute. So, should you find yourself in Hawthorne Nevada, needing to use the restroom, the Safeway is a good bet to meet your needs. We never hesitate to go here and we'll be back.

Saw a Safeway and decided to go on a quick shopping trip. Great selection and friendly employees. Prices seemed a little high on some items, but that's to be expected at a retail store in the middle of almost nowhere. We went up and down the aisles, stretching our legs and seeing what they had to offer. The deli area had some great refrigerated offerings and even some hot dishes and whole chickens. Everything smelled fantastic. In the end, we found some small gifts for friends - we do shopping for birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays all the yearlong wherever we go. Found some great road snacks, too. Some lunch meat circles including salami, Ritz crackers, Lay's BBQ potato chips, etc. Added bonus - they had customer restrooms in the back of the store. Clean and fully stocked. We still had aways to travel and this stop really reenergized us and helped us push through to our destination. We will definitely add this to our Mesa to Reno checklist and remember to drop in on our next visit to northern Nevada.

Two trips in two days and both cashiers were about as friendly as a pet rock. Last night's guy had the shakes. Today's lady only said "would you like your receipt." The self-bagging idea is good. At least you can pack your items as you want. But. Maybe. If there was a courtesy clerk who would do it for you. Elderly couple in front of me did their own cart. Meanwhile, three associates (maybe even a manager) were living their best life near the courtesy desk. During rush hour, staff should be ready to help. Other reviews say every check stand is open. Today. Maybe 50%. Self checkout is usually a good bet, but when the line is turned and backed to past the ice cream aisle, you know it's slow going. At least the store does a great job of living up to "mountain time."

It's open seasonally, and hours do vary depending on the time of year. But when it is open, you can be sure to find whatever you may have forgotten to pack for your camping or backpacking trip. They have a decent enough selection of toiletries, food and camping gear, as well as ice and firewood. Products I was excited to find: Honest Tea...Lundberg Farms chips...Have'a Corn Chips...fresh produce...Brown Cow Yogurt The store seemed to be busy at all times of day. There were tourists just passing through, lotsa local campers staying at the Tuolumne Meadows campground, and during June a huge influx of backpackers stop here on their 2500 mile trip along the Pacific Crest Trail. I was really pleased with the prices, they weren't too crazy considering this place is 9000 feet up and in the middle of a National Park. It is cash only, but they do have an ATM. Right next door is a post office, and the Tuolumne Grill. There's a gas station just west along the road, and the visitor center is right after that.

This store is located in the Quarry Village area, which is conveniently located next to a few of the main eateries inside Yosemite, as well as some of the main camping grounds in the park. This store is not as big as some of the other stores in Yosemite Valley so just keep in mind when looking at their selection. I do think this is a good stop for a quick snack, or just some drinks. Just to give you an idea, this shop had like six hats to choose from, when another store in the valley easily had over fifty hat options to pick from. However, regardless of their variety I do think this store is very convenient and the staff that works here is great.
