So I'm not going to go into all of the details here, but I was driving north on I-75 from Manatee County to Tampa. My car started thumping. I knew I had another flat (3 in 5 days due to my frame shaving my air pressure censor stems off my new rims and causing air to escape). We prayed for God to send us someone to help (after hours for mechanics). I hobbled into the closest gas station parking lot and saw a MOBICARE truck. I thought it was a handicap transport company but figured I'd ask. He was getting fuel and he told me he works on diesel trucks. I hung my head. Oh, OK and started to turn back to my SUV (packed with women going to a Toby Mac concert at Amalie). He said (and he probably regretted his next comment) "why, what's up". I explained the problems I'd had with my new rims over the past few days and now another tire was flat. I mean flat flat. Almost sitting on the rim flat.
This kid pulled his truck over and jumped hurdle after hurdle to get our spare down, and flat off, and spare on, and air in spare, EVERYTHING that could go wrong for this poor kid did but he did not give up. Anyone else would have said "sorry I did all I could do but it's just not doable". But no, he did. He persevered. And in about an hour and half we were back on the road and he was late to dinner I'm sure. His name is RON. I didn't get his last name but he was a blessing sent by our gracious heavenly Father. All of us have prayed/heeped blessings on this kid ever since. Thank you Ron. You could have just left it at "I work on diesel trucks" and went on your way. But you didnt. And for that we are eternally grateful !!!! read more
