Great location - convenient to downtown. Lots of parking - pool is great with a covered picnic area for friends to gather. Our room had a mini kitchen. That was a plus, but the sink in the kitchen area is the same sink for brushing teeth, etc. - not a good combination. Beds were comfortable and room is spacious with ample drawer and closet space. This is an old motel, dark rooms, think 1960's. It was very clean but we had to use a flashlight during the day, to find items in the little closet. It is very convenient to downtown Moab. Walking distance to everything. The receptionist was very helpful and accommodating. Loved that. Seemed very welcoming. But the rooms themselves- ugh. The bathroom had a tub/shower and toilet only. You had to step to the main room to wash at a kitchen sink. Kind of weird. Very dark rooms and decor, though clean, was a bit depressing. Spent some time at the pool. Nothing spectacular. But they did have a nice little covered area to keep out of the sun. Don't know that I'd stay again. I guess for the money, it was okay. The bonus was being so close to everything. read more

This place was stupendous. My friends and I stayed two nights between our trips from Canyonlands to Arches. For the value, we got way more than we expected. Front desk was real' nice, giving us a spare blanket. We had a water kettle, they had plenty of great teas and hot chocolate and coffee. The rooms had plates and silverware. The refrigerator was larger than expected. The room offered plenty of toiletries. The TV had a fine amount of channels. The beds felt great. My friends and I would recommend this inn to anyone coming through Moab. It's the best! read more

Wow is this nice for the price! Includes full size refrigerator/freezer microwave kitchentte section... and even has dishes and glasses. I've never stayed in a hotel with dish soap under the sink. Kept up very well & very clean. Also has laundry on site & free wifi. A perfect stay if you're like me wanting to visit Arches National Park. It's more like a move-in ready apartment then a hotel or motel. Fantastic! read more

My husband and I stayed at Rustic Inn over the weekend of the July 4th holiday. It was outstanding! The room was so nice and very clean! It came with a kitchenette, which was great for us, we used that the entire time we were there! It was so quiet! The pool has towels already there instead of having to bring our own! I loved the gorgeous hanging petunias everywhere! The flowers even have constant irrigation flowing to them! There also a neat little walking trail by the hotel to walk, and enjoy. The best part is, this motel is extremely close to downtown for all the restaurants, and shopping! Our over all experience was excellent!! read more

I booked this place because it was the cheapest place I could find for a busy holiday. I booked over the phone and received a confirmation number. I emailed them a few days before to confirm that our reservation was still in place and they promptly replied. When we arrived, we were glad that the inn was 5 minutes away from Arches, and that the inn was in the center of town. The front desk gave us the AAA price ($95 on the busy Memorial Day weekend) even tho we didn't have a AAA card. The receptionist was very cordial and offered to suggest us some good restaurants around town. I also needed to buy some ponchos and he directed me to go to the Dollar store just a few blocks down (which is also a good place to shop--kind of like their version of Walmart). Even tho this place is just an inn the room was very clean and spacious and I loved the location. It can definitely pass for a motel. We went across the street to Zac's pizza for dinner which is also convenient. Kudos to the receptionists who were so kind. Make sure you book early because the motels get booked so quickly during the holidays! $95 for 2 queen beds is not too bad either.. if you're on a road trip with friends you could split that for a decent price!!! read more

The Rustic Inn is centrally located (right within walking distance of everything downtown), cheap, and clean. That might be enough; you are not in Moab to sit in a hotel room. Rustic is very old school - metal keys, SD tube TVs, and a feel that is out of the 50s. They have a pool and BBQ area and laundry machines too. The downsides - the AC in second-story units is very weak, probably because the hot roof fights it, so don't count on a 2nd story room getting below 85 or so no matter what during the height of the summer month, and their reservation system is manual via paper and has had problems - we made a reservation that the hotel lost, and they were not very accommodating until we argued. But, that aside, a cheap, clean place and you could do worse. read more

We had to cancel our reservations at a competing chain motel which was way overpriced and had some pretty damning reviews. Every other place in Moab is $100+. I called the Rustic Inn the night before we were coming and they gave me a great rate and no hassle! Only $69! Our room was the economy room with cement floors for mountain bikers to bring their bikes in at night. That was no problem for us. The pool is nice and the property is well kept. This is a clean and fairly inexpensive spot when passing through. The rooms are well sized and the kitchenette would be great for a longer stay. The beds are very uncomfortable and the pool is DANGEROUS. It has tile markers showing a depth of 6', but it is actually about 3'. Stopped here on our way to Denver, CO in June 2011. None of the other hotels along the strip had vacancies. I guess summertime is busy in this town. We were referred here. Turned out they only had one room avail. It was #1, supposedly a suite with kitchen, etc. We took it sight unseen...big mistake! It was disgusting. I mean decor from the 70's, acoustic ceiling tiles with gaping holes, like it used to be an office or something, blinds that were broken and others could see inside from the alley/street, and a foul stench. I did not want to touch anything. And, we paid $115 for the night to boot! If we weren't so tired, we would have driven up the road further for a better place to crash. Rustic is one thing, but a dump is another. read more

The best kept secret in Moab! One block off of Main Street, the Rustic Inn is an ideal respite from the hours in the car to visit the local sights!. There are pet friendly rooms (guess what? No extra fee for bringing Fido along like other motels in Moab). Clean, very clean and spacious rooms with all the modern conveniences (a/c 4 cups of high test coffee, 4 cups of decal per room). Spacious parking for cars, bikes, trailers and RVs if you want to simply kick back and not worry about hook-ups and RV site charges of $60-$75 per night). Walking distance to a great Italian restaurant, even in the heat. The best part of our stay was the friendly, helpful and professional help by the Rustic Inn manager, Mandy. If you want a room, call directly rather than go through Experien, etc. This way you can ask for a veteran, senior, disabled, etc., discount. My family of 6 (two rooms) all gave two thumbs up (the grand kids loved the clean, clear water in the pool) to the Rustic Inn. No disappointments here! read more

I didn't have high expectations for a place who offered two nights for $79 during their low season (might of been 5 other cars in the parking lot). The place is ran down, and not in an attempt to be rustic. Power outlets - Now where to be found except over the fridge, and hidden in the dresser where the TV plugs into. Bring a multi-port adapter if you have one. Door Locks - Our door lock busted on our first day there, and locked my family in the room. I ended up crawling through the window, and finding a coat hanger to unlock the door. By the scratches on the door frame, it doesn't appear to the the first time. Staff fixed it quickly, but was definitely a game changer. Ants - Brought food? Store it someone sealed. We had ants in our kitchen, and the chemical they used to treat it was potent... stunk the room all day, and night. We kept our window open all day and night. Curtains = Headache - The makeshift closet curtains as you will see in their pictures are barely held to the door frames, and can easily fall off and hit someone in the head. Poor and cheap way to provide doors... duct tape would have been a better solution. Step up and address. Staff was friendly, but felt their were complacent to any feedback. The place served its purpose; a place to get some rest. P.S. Make sure they tell you if they plan to put water in their empty pool, if your kids were planning on swimming. read more

Nice little motel off the main drag (1 block from Main street) has recently been renovated, save for three rooms. We got a room with 2 queen beds, very functioning AC, and a kitchenette - with microwave, coffeemaker, and full size refrigerator. The bathroom has a tub and a toilet, but no sink - you use the kitchen sink for that, but the bathroom is nicely renovated. Quiet and clean, and the proprietors were very helpful in securing an extra night at another place, when theirs was fully booked. read more

With a great rate on Booking.com we had a room waiting for us even though the office was closed. After driving though a snow storm the clean, warm beds were much needed. I stayed here my first trip to Moab. Got to town after dark and was not aware of what a jewel the town and surrounding parks are. I was just looking for a place to sleep before I continued my tour, and this was available and cheap. Room was nice enough and a good value for the money. A bit of a strange experience here. The man at the front desk was VERY courteous, polite, and helpful. We got an incredible price on the room ($39!) cuz it was apparently in the process of being renovated. Those are the reasons I'm giving this place 4 stars. The renovation meant the room was in shambles! It had no carpet, only a cement sub-floor, the window was missing two or three of the blinds, the internet wasn't working, the shower leaked water all over the floor, the microwave window had a disconcertingly large gash, and there was a mystery goop that got on my laptop cable. It made for kind of a hilarious stay overcoming all these obstacles. BUT, we knew about them before hand because that super helpful desk guy let us inspect the room before purchasing, the beds were comfy, the fridge was huge, the location was great, and I would imagine once the renovations are complete the place will be more livable. My wife and I are traveling across the western US with 3 of our grandchildren. Trying to find a motel / hotel for the five of us at a reasonable price has been a challenge. After using Yelp to help us find a place in Moab we ended up stopping at one motel who was very helpful and referred us to another motel with larger rooms. When I explained our situation the desk clerk called Brian at the Moab Rustic Inn. Upon arrival I met Brian who was working the desk, explained my situation and he suggested a two adjoining room setup that had a kitchen and two bathrooms. The total cost of the two rooms together was extremely reasonable. The motel is older but in good condition and centrally located in downtown Moab. Customer service was excellent. Really great place, as others have said. Located right in town but on a quiet side street, can easily walk everywhere. Pet friendly and there is an off-leash dog park a 5 minute walk behind the Inn. The rooms are big, have full-size fridges and big flat screen TVs (though doesn't look to be an HD broadcast). Some people have noted the decor is a bit dated - I don't care about that, but the only mild complaint is the rooms need more outlets. Kind of tough to charge a phone, ipad, GoPro, and laptop without having to unplug lamps or the microwave. Other than that, for the money, you can't beat it. read more

We picked this hotel because it allowed dogs. We were very happy with the room, cleanliness and felt secure leaving our dog there while we hiked in Arches and then went to dinner. This place is very inviting, their flowers were beautiful, nice clean pool and pool area. I liked that they had chairs to set on outside of the rooms, picnic tables, and even places to bbq, which made it so nice to socialize with other guests. Apon leaving in the morning, 2 and a half hours out, I realized I had forgotten my diamond stud earrings, yikes, we called the Inn, and they called us right back and said that they had found them right where I had told them they were. They told us that they would mail them to us with whatever insurance we would like to put on them. I am very happy to say that I received my earrings today, couldn't be happier. Our next trip to Moab we will definitely be staying here again. Thank you Moab Rustic Inn for being upstanding in todays world. read more
