I've been a fan of Mo' Bettahs for a while, but this last visit was incredibly disappointing. I waited over 45 minutes for my order, and during that time, several other customers who ordered after me were helped and served before me. It felt like my order kept getting overlooked. When I finally got my food, I was shocked at the portion sizes. I ordered two regular plates and a mini plate, and all of them looked like they were the size of a kids' (Keiki) plate. For what I paid, it was really frustrating to see such tiny portions--especially after such a long wait. The food itself looked rushed and carelessly thrown together, like they just wanted to get it out after making me wait forever. This was by far the worst experience I've had at this location, and I hope it's not a sign of how things are going to be moving forward. Mo' Bettahs can do better. read more

Happened to pass through Idaho and decided to give this gem a try. I ordered the Terimix- comes with steak and grilled chicken teriyaki , white rice and macaroni salad. I got a kids plate for my son- comes with 1 side of meat and white rice, cabbage is optional. And my partner ordered the Katsu Chicken- side of rice and macaroni salad. We absolutely enjoyed every bite of our food. Prices are reasonable. The restaurant itself is clean, staff is friendly. The portions are just right. Excellent parking, plenty of seating. Friendly staff. They were really good about helping me with my husbands special order - he wanted 3 meats and Mac salad. The best value was 4 side orders. On my order, they let me specify 1 scoop rice and 2 scoops of Mac salad with my Katsu chicken and teriyaki steak. You also specify how many sauces you want, which is on the side so you don't get things too soggy. I loved the Katsu chicken - crispy and juicy. Man, I really wanted to love this place. I'm a Hawai'i native. Born & raised on the island and moved to Nevada before relocating to Idaho. Mo' Bettahs is the closest thing to "Hawaiian" food I have in Idaho Falls. Without having to cook a dish myself, of course. Unfortunately, my first experience wasn't a great one. The kalua pork was bland and tasteless. Kalua pork should present salty, smoky flavors and this just wasn't it. The teriyaki steak was way overcooked and dry. The teriyaki sauce was also closer to an Asian style teriyaki sauce and not as much as the Hawaiian fusion style that I was accustomed to growing up. The mac salad was close to good. The flavor was there but the recipe uses way too much mayonnaise. The P.O.G juice was yummy though! Unfortunately, for the quality and price of the food, I don't think I'll be back. read more

Mo' Bettahs became a stop for grindz when I saw a wahine and her family eating in the lobby of the hotel that I was staying at. She convinced me that Mo' Bettahs was an economical place. After spending too much for dinner that I night, I needed somewhere cheap. I went there the next night and got their 3 meat plate or Ekolu consisting of beef, chicken and a mystery meat that I cannot remember nor can I recognize when I look at the photo and a spam musubi. The 3 meat plate came with macaroni salad. The chicken had a good flavor. My wife's only complaint was that parts of the chicken were burnt. The beef was tasty. The macaroni salad was excellent. We finished everything including the mystery meat. Their three meat plate was enough to feed both my wife and I. Mo' Bettah' was a good place for some good grindz. I'd be back if they were closer. It's too bad that they don't have any locations in California. It is good stuff. read more

The other servers pled with him but he was quiting in 2 weeks apparently and didn't care anymore. He had a terrible attitude that affected the rest of the workers. I wanted to like this place, but the Pulehu chicken was bone dry and so burned it was inedible. I even had a hard rock of what used to be burned meat mixed in to add extra disgust. The teriyaki steak was too sweet for my taste. I wish there were vegetables because the cabbage wasn't near enough. My friend's Katsu chicken was dry and the sauces that came with it are nothing more than ketchup and a too sweet teriyaki sauce. The teriyaki chicken was okay but too sweet. The macaroni salad was only okay and had too much Mayo. The rice was good and one of the only things I liked, but I couldn't finish it because I was nauseous from my burnt chicken and extra sweet teriyaki steak. I also bought the guava cake and liked it. It is sweet and a little tart. The Pass-o-guava nectar wasn't bad and I would have liked to try the regular flavor, but I don't think I will go back to this restaurant. I ordered lunch online from them and my husband went to pick it up. When he got there no one was in front and our food was at the pick up counter opened getting cold. After 5 minutes he went to the kitchen door and asked if someone was gonna help him since he heard the staff behind the door laughing with each other and they got an attitude with him and reprimanded him for coming in the back to find them. If your doors are open for business someone should be in front to do business. Not sure we will be back but the food is excellent read more

Love the food here. That Hawaiian vibe, with the mac salad, oh so good! They have several meats to choose from, & my favorite is the teriyaki chicken and chicken Katsu. You get teriyaki sauce on the side to go over your rice and meats. Service is good, & pretty quick. You order at the counter, they dish up your plate while you're standing there asking you which meats you'd like. All in all one of my favorite places in Idaho Falls. read more

I really like their chili plate! It comes with chili ala Hawaiian style, with bits of portuguese sausage added to the chili, a scoop of rice and a scoop of their mac salad. So good! The chili is only being offered for a limited time, but I hope they decide to keep it on the menu permanently. Friendly customer service! They also have a drive-thru where you can just order from your car and take the food to go. read more

We absolutely love Mo Bettahs! The best Kaulah pig outside of Hawaii! My husband loves the Katsu chicken and the Hawaiian macaroni salad.

The food is always really good! The service is friendly. However, it is very often smokey inside. My husband doesn't mind the smell, but I have long hair and hate that it soaks up the smoke. I won't go inside if I have to go anywhere else afterwards. The portions are very generous and we often share our plates. We also enjoy getting the family meals to feed the whole family. I have four young men who can eat a lot and we usually have leftovers. read more
