After they left, I realized that some of the furniture was not where we wanted it and we were unable to move it ourselves. Even though it was a Friday afternoon with miserable traffic, Jerry and his son came back and moved the furniture for us. That was above and beyond. The floors are beautiful. A measuring technician came out, took all the dimensions, and directed us to the 1020 W. San Carlos location to review their full carpet selection. At the store, we explained what we were looking for, compared carpet features and pricing, and worked with Dominic--who was very accommodating. His total project cost was competitive with the other quotes we received. We also wanted new baseboards that would match our freshly painted walls and trim. Dominic arranged to have the primed (but unpainted) 16' wood baseboards delivered ahead of installation, giving us time to paint everything before the carpet went in. Tip Our new carpet and pad are very soft and plush--great underfoot, especially on the stairs. Because the new flooring sits higher than the original laminate, our bedroom doors needed to be trimmed by about half an inch. We cut the doors ourselves, but it's worth asking whether your installer can include that as part of the project. Pros * Dominic is a true carpeting professional--he anticipated our needs and offered thoughtful guidance throughout the process. * Both the wood and carpet installation teams did solid, quality work.
