Was referred to MMI for a rifle transfer by a friend of mine who no longer does FFL transfers. Very reasonably priced and friendly, knowledgeable employees. Transfer was smooth and fair. Was unsure of the parking situation as the store shares an ally with a bank, but not a problem. Would suggest owner put a sign out letting customers (especially new customers) know where it's okay to park, other than the ally or the bank parking lot, when it's busy. First let me say this is a great gun store. First let's address Megan P's issue with parking. The issue she is referring to was actually a bank customer, not an MMI customer. There are no known incidents of a gun store customer yelling at anyone. Come on Karen, get a life. As for Brian, the owner, being rude, that is a perception you may get if you are calling trying to get ammo or primers every day during a shortage. He is a knowledgeable straightforward business person dealing with very controversial products. Every day someone is trying to take away our rights to own firearms and his living. If you are tired of the arrogant, self righteous used car salesmen at a nearby "MEGA" firearms store, then this is the place for you. The owner and employees are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The selection is limited, but sufficient, and they will order anything you want and get it in quickly. The pricing is very good, but just keep in mind that taxes and background check fees are included when comparing with other shops where you have to pay these over and above the posted prices. I recently traded in a shotgun of my son's, and was given a very fair price in trade for a new shotgun. Quite frankly, this is the only gun store I need anymore. I won't be going anywhere else. We first found out about this place while shopping at a larger local Chain store. Some guy randomly told us about it while we were shopping for some handguns. I looked them up and they seemed pretty new. There wasn't much information about them but we decided to register with MMI for the CCW training. Well let me just say, if you haven't taken your CCW class yet and are looking for a place, You MUST register with them. The class was a blast. Unlike most classes you will NOT fall asleep you will be engaged from start to finish! The price is very affordable through MMI and did I mention Brian is a very knowledgeable and great instructor. Almost forgot to mention, the Range portion of this class is OUTDOORS. I loved that!!! This place is about 35 minutes from where we live, but was and is definitely worth the drive. We also purchased a couple of handguns from MMI and by far, hands down they have THE BEST PRICES I have seen! The prices are marked on each gun and that is OUT THE DOOR PRICING!!! The staff is amazing. They treat every one equally be it, male, female, or even ethnic (and I say that because most of the reviews I read people voice that the smaller shops are "racist rednecks" or discriminate against females, no offense to anyone!!) Brian is great to work with and talk to as well as the other gentleman that work with him. They are just a bunch of super friendly guys that are great to chat with. If you have any questions about any thing don't be afraid to ask Brian, like I mentioned before he is very knowledgeable and is super patient. My husband and I drive him crazy every time we stop by. They make everyone feel like friends and family be it your first time there or 20th time there. All in all this is hands down the best gun shop I have ever been to when it comes to Customer Service and Prices. Don't be alarmed by the small size of the shop. When I got to MMI to pick up my purchase I inquired about obtaining a CCW permit and Brian ( the owner ) walk me through the process! Let me tell you, taking the 16 hour course through MMI and with Brian's instruction, I have learned a ton information, the class was never dull,( and there is a lot of content to cover ) and qualifying outdoors was a blast!! I heard about MMI through a friend who was raving about the place, so I had some pretty high expectations going in. I wasn't disappointed. In fact, since it's a new shop that's still growing, I can only imagine this place will get better and better with time. Please note that it's located on the side of the Edward Jones Financial Office (Orange Door on the left side of Edward Jones). After researching the firearm I wanted (BodyGuard 380 w/CT), I shopped around. MegaSports, Gander Mountain, Midwest, and Cabela's all had it priced $500-530 out the door (taxes and paperwork included). I called Brian and he got me an amazing price of $445 out the door. He doesn't appear to gouge on paperwork or add on miscellaneous fees like some other places. I was able to order the firearm via email and submit my FOID card electronically so he could process the background check. This was really nice because I don't live near the shop and it was nice to not have to make a trip just to show him a FOID card. So, the process of haggling and purchasing was one of the most painless I've ever had at any store. It was literally a phone call, an email, and then go pick it up when he called. And again, I couldn't be any happier about the price/value. So, the only tiny thing I could call a "negative" isn't really even a negative. MMI is a new shop. It's been open for 3 months at the time of this review, so his ammo and accessories stock was a bit low. I'm sure as the business grows, his stock will increase considerably. So, don't go in expecting a wide selection of accessories; HOWEVER, if you know the exact holster you want or what type of special ammo you wanted, he might be able to get it for you during your waiting period instead of you running around piece-mealing a purchase. In the end, this is great shop. The owner is really nice, does great on prices, really knows his stuff, and I just can't find a single bad thing to say about the place (and I generally ALWAYS have something bad to say). So, if you're in the market for firearms, do your research, but make sure you give MMI a call before you pull the trigger on a purchase elsewhere. read more

MMI Guns is an a great place to do business. Brian is her knowledgeable about guns and very easy to work with. I took his CC class and he was very entertaining and very fun to listen to. He's pretty cut and dry and to the point which is the way I like people to be. The class tells you everything you need to know and is the most affordable I found. Was it easy no, but was it hard absolutely not. Show up listen learn and we had a lot of questions and my class and Brian knew the answer to everything. Believe me there were some pretty off the wall questions. Great teacher and a pretty alright guy. Fast forward 6 months and I was in the market for a new gun I called Brian yo told him what I wanted. He was the ONLY gun shop that didn't put me on hold and actually said I don't have one but I will find one wait one second. He stayed on the line with me and said yup I got one and quoted me a price. I ran over the features I wanted with the gun and the one that he found was more expensive than the one I found online. I told him that and he said absolutely order that gun and ship it to me. So that's what I did and 2 weeks later I went and picked it up. Original facebook review; Definitely didn't expect to walk in and see the owner mute the business phone and belittle the gentlemen on the other end because he wasn't smart enough to build his own firearm. After they hung up I was asked " You don't have a Yelp account do you?" (I do now!) I built my own rifle as well and at that point felt uncomfortable to even ask a question about the rifle i brought in, I should've walked out. I didn't and set myself up to be told "Are you an armorer?", "and a few other arrogant remarks. I was willing to pay whatever amount to fix my rifle after that I'll look elsewhere. read more

Brian was awesome! He accommodated a group of us to teach us ladies about gun safety and the proper use of a firearm! He was patient answered all the questions we had and have us as much shooting time as we wanted. He even brought like 20 different handguns for us to try and get the feel for what might be better for each person! Very happy with my first visit and purchase. Great deals on ammo, very friendly service. I visit gun stores with my wife frequently and many OTHER stores don't offer what I'd consider proper service when the customer is female. I was happy to see how two separate female customers (father with daughter and an adult couple where the primary customer was the woman) where treated. Many shops in the area (we've been to a lot) just don't treat female customers very well. MMI clearly makes sure everyone is welcome. read more

MMI provided the worst customer service experience I ever had in my entire adult life. I took a 1911 to MMI to repair a stripped screw in the rear sight. I never thought that this would be a big deal for any competent gunsmith to repair, turns out I was very wrong. MMI had my firearm for 4 months, I would call there about every two weeks to inquire about it and was given nothing but the runaround. They told me they could not find a replacement rear sight screw, the screw was the hurdle. Every time I called I heard a new excuse: "The gunsmith would call me", when he didn't I was told "He forgets", "been busy", "He's sick", "its hunting season"," the firearm is no longer made". After about three months of this nonsense, I got verbally upset with Brian on the phone and it wasn't until this they actually moved forward with the repair. There expert fix was to replace the sight with a new one and re-tap the hole. Finally, after four months the repair was complete, paid $125 and picked up the gun. Unfortunately, I did not immediately test fire the firearm. I did not get to test fire the firearm for about 4 months after picking it up. After about 30 or 40 rounds the screw came out of the rear sight because it was never properly repaired. I called MMI and they said to bring it back. After bringing back to MMI thinking that they would stand behind there work, only to be stuck in this hellacious infinitive loop of terrible customer service again. They never said that the gun could not be fixed, or it was beyond there capabilities. Long story short, I was charged another $60 for nothing, and wasted another 5 months with these clowns. I wanted to write this review about a month ago but decided to take the gun to another shop just to determine if it was truly non-fixable and to be objective. After doing due diligence and getting personal recommendations instead of some reviews from friends and family on a Facebook page as MMI has. I found Great Guns Armory and took it there. Two weeks later Paul repaired the gun by re-taping the sight hole and inserting a bushing into the hole that he drilled and re-tapped for the sight screw. Told me I should not have an issue but if I did his repair had an unlimited warranty. I was pleased with his low cost, less than half of what MMI raped me. MMI is a part-time very amateurish shop. In hindsight, I did see many red flags in my dealing with them that I mistakenly overlooked. Don't make the same mistake as me. read more

I purchased a AR-15, the custom built type from mmi. The rifle never functioned properly it would short stroke rounds and jammed, I brought it back for repairs but the problem continued. The rifle only worked after I took it to the gunsmith at Maxon who was able to properly align the gas block. read more

I was referred to mmi after my inlaws had all made purchases there and had good things to say about it. I had a good experience the first time i walked into mmi after just receiving my foid card. I am not very knowledgeable but the old guy there(sorry no disrespect but i did not get his name.) was extremely helpful. I did notice there stock was low on some common firearms. Xds 9s and shield 9s and 9s in general were non existant. I did not purchase there because they did not have what i wanted but instead went over to the so called "evil empire" mega sport. I purchased a gun that day at a great price and friendly helpful service. Now 3 weeks go by and i am ready to buy a shield 9. So i head over to mmi hoping they had it in stock. They still did not or any xds9 or ruger lc9s or anything. I got to hold a shield that they were waiting for someone to pick up. while looking at it i was asking the guy some questions about it(not the same old guy as before but a different guy maybe 40s. Not the owner i believe.) i was told " if i already new the answer to if it had a mag release safety why the hell would i ask". Well i didnt know untill while i was asking you the question i flipped the gun over and read it on the side. Dont shame your customer knucklehead. I still put the deposit down on the gun to order it but they werent sure at all how long it was going to take to get it. Fine. I went home emailed sevin sigma arms in manhattan on monday. He said he had it and i could pick it up on friday and it was $20 cheaper. Done. Went back to mmi tuesday And pulled my deposit. He didnt bother to ask why i pulled the deposit. I wanted a reason to do business with mmi because the referral and being local and small shop but one comment by one guy pissed me off and now i wasnt willing to wait for there "backordered gun" that everyone else has. I would still go in and deal with the old man or the guy with the beard whom i believe is the owner. If i want somebody to talk to me like shit i can get that for free one of my buddies. When im a paying customer you dont get that rite! read more
