Honestly wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. Staff were very helpful & friendly. Found a firearm I was willing to purchase. Paid in full, filled out application, then they come back to me & tell me my address on my FOID & DL doesn't match the address on my application. They tell me I can go online and change my address on my FOID & show email proving change & address matching application. No worries, i'll do it. Half way through that process, another employee mentions my DL would need to be updated as well. Well at that point I mention just getting a refund, because who wants to go to a DMV on there day off lol. Well then another employee comes up and says I don't need to update my ID & they'll accept just the FOID address. So I continue with the address change online, pay the fee to change it. Then proceed to check out, then ANOTHER employee, or assumed manager comes up and says i'll need to go to the DMV and update my DL, after I verified several times prior that I wouldn't need to. He had a very rude tone telling me "You got 3 days to go to the DMV" sort of laughingly. I told him I verified with 3 different employees that I wouldn't need to go to the DMV, he didn't apologize for the inconvenience, anything. Just simply laughed and gave me a refund. I'm not so much mad about the whole ID thing, because honestly it slipped my mind & made sense. But the manager/supervisor attitude/customer service was shockingly rude. But kinda sad because this is where my friends & I have always gone to shoot, but that will change. I called the store looking for help to fix this issue, but the person who answered the phone was rude and disrespectful. He told me to contact corporate and hung up the phone. I'm on shorewood sight right now and their site indicates the price is different. do they honor the online price at the store . They say order on line and its shipped to the store. I purchased a gun from the shorewood IL location called today to find out when to pick up. I was advised by your associate any time today. I get to the store and another individual asked me for Foid and ID. I give him the stuff he smugly comes back and tells me I have to wait till eight thirty its a 72 Hr waiting. Then I inform him his associate advised me any time today. What does this unprofessional person sorry boss dont know what to say. I am prepared to cancel this order and call it a day. Seriously your associate screws up I get informed of the law and then called boss. How about train the employees and take accountability for their action rather than pawn it off on me. I wasted the drive over to put up with this? This might sound petty but seriously their customer service is horrible and this specific location should learn to train employees better. I purchased a private lesson se for session Friday. It was for my daughter who is leaving for the Army. wanted to get some familiarity to certain types of long guns. Found out on Thursday that she would not be able to make it back in time. Spoke with a rep around 11am on Thursday the same week of the session. We spoke about 15mins about the Friday scheduled appointment. I wanted to reschedule for the next Friday. I was unable to, so I decided i would bring my wife. My daughter ended being free to make it. We went only for them to say hey this appointment was for yesterday, "Thursday". I explained the situation and that I had spoken to a rep on Thursday who didn't mention that the appointment was for that day. Now they said I can not have my money back "$150" and I would have to rescheduled and pay for the new appointment. I think this is unfair. can easily be resolved with a new appointment at no cost or just refund the money back. They are not customers friendly, not good business partners, not a good neighborhood business. I would not recommend their services to anyone. I have spoke with friends and co-worker at other gun shops and gun clubs. they have never heard of anything like this. Easily correctable!! but very shameful. Range USA responded to my review stating their is nothing they can do. Range USA website says that each student is allow up to 1 reschedule. read more

I've had a bad experience here every time I've came, from staff members trying to show off and take apart guns they don't know how to and asking me (the customer) to finish taking apart the weapon they started. To another staff member acting very arrogant when I brought in a firearm to sell and offering me a such a low, unreasonable offer. To the manager not accepting Military IDs to use the range, saying "they're not government issued IDs" (They very much are) And "You can't use military IDs at the airport" (Very wrong. Used my active military ID on 10+ flights) All around majority of staff are very arrogant, very uneducated, and very argumentative. read more

I buy my ammunition at this location, and I've purchased two guns in the past. Always had excellent help until today , October 19th, 2023 at 3:43pm. I was at the counter when a female worker behind the counter asked if she could help me. I described the bundle I saw advertised, which I was interested in. She then got sarcastic and told me it's illegal. I assume it was because of the magazine capacity in the advertisement. I knew that, but I wanted to talk about anything similar they might have, or if the magazines could be switched to abide by Illinois law. As I spoke, she interrupted me two more times, stating again, that it was illegal. She then walked away from me, leaving me standing at the counter. I went there intending to buy a gun. I ended up just getting two boxes of ammo with the help of the other, helpful worker. If the female worker had been more helpful and not short and condescending, I would have spent more money. I have been a customer of Shoot Point Blank for nearly half a decade now, and have been a customer of the Shorewood location ever since the store opened. I have purchased two firearms from the Shorewood location, have had two friends/family members purchase guns there, and have used their range countless times. I am 100% a customer for life of this location. The staff at Shoot Point Blank in Shorewood are nothing short of incredible. Every single member of staff I have met was extremely professional, helpful, kind, and friendly. One staff member in particular, Ben, is a WONDERFUL person that has helped me many times. He is extremely down to earth and easy to talk to, and is one of the reasons I keep coming here even after moving 70+ miles away. The best part of Shoot Point Blank is their range. It is clean, well kept, and well monitored. The Range Officers allow you to enjoy your time shooting without breathing down your neck. However, in the event the RO's see you breaking range/safety rules, they will address the issue in a professional manner. This is the best range I have been to in Illinois by a long shot...much better than other nearby mega gun ranges (*hint* *hint*) Keep being awesome Shoot Point Blank! read more

I went to re-do my CCL yesterday at this location. I been coming to SPB for years at various locations. I normally don't write reviews, but I wanted to warn other folks. My issue is when I registered for class I received an email and two coupons. The email stated the following in regards to any future gun purchase. This coupon is valid any time before the scheduled class date and 30 days after the class ends. But our CCL trainer said we had to do the purchase "within three days" of today, contrary to the email. The 2nd issue, the registration email stated that I can get a free gun rental. Here is the exact words: Unloaded firearm - bring your own or rent from our rental case for free! The person at the counter said I had to rent the gun out of pocket and the CCL trainer as well, contrary to the email I have. When we went to the range to do the qualifying, we had two trainers, they were not synchronized. One trainer told us to "go ahead and unload the magazine", while 30 seconds later the 2nd trainer was telling us to "load the magazine" and than I heard the 1st trainer direct us to unload the gun again. In class we received some sales material from concealcarry.com, which sell from the instructor, to purchase from an outside vendor legal protection. The part that was a turn off is when he said it costs a minimum $80,000 to have an attorney represent you, what will you do when the prosecutor is questions you and that you would need to pay an expert witness $1,000 an hour and you can have dozen of expert witnesses. In reality, all of this is factually NOT true. Most folks typically use public defenders and private attorney fees vary depending on various factors. Also, police departments refer the cases to assistant state's attorneys for prosecution, never would a defendant talk to the prosecutor before getting charged. He also said you would have bail set at $350,000 (10% of that) All of this are scare sales tactics. The trainer should NOT mention this issues, especially if they are wrong. Also, as a CCL trainer he is NOT qualified to give legal advice and he was. He said that if we ever shot someone in self-defense , upon the police arriving, we should refuse to answer any questions, that you demand to have an attorney present and that should should fake being sick so the police take you to the hospital instead of jail. I am sure the trainer is not bad intentioned, but he should had concentrated on the actual class. In the last 30 days, I been present in about 90 criminal cases at court. In class, I told him that his theory in real life, simply does not happen. Assuming you do get arrested, many folks basically bond out and not at $35,000 as he suggested. Also pre-trial services take mitigating factors, such as your criminal history, factors, etc. He also said in class that child care facilities do NOT allow weapons, I told him he was wrong on that as well. After I told him I been working for DCFS for 25 years, he than back peddled and said, "I was talking about keeping them locked." Any training a trainer will have opinions, but opinions should be based on reality and life experiences. The irony no one was asking him "what he thought", he just kept blurting out this ridiculous claims. Also, the PBR staff should get it together as far as familiarity with their simple store policies in regards to getting a free rental and gun purchase discounts. PBR is a good gun range, far cry than the rest. Just make sure you read things carefully. Luckily I had my gun with me, so I shot with that. I wanted to get the "free rental" and shoot the Beretta 92FS since it shoots much better since its a larger gun. The FS is a very accurate gun. I still shot 30/30 with my little small 9mm. Also, you only need 30 rounds, not 50 as they recommend. There was NO warm-up, we shot 10 times at 3 distances. SPR overall still gets 5 stars. It is a great place for 2nd amendment lovers. Best ranges in my state. read more

Recently purchased a Taurus 9mm handgun from Shoot Point Blank in Shorewood Illinois.when i went to shoot the weapon for the first time since purchasing it, the magazine wouldnt feed the ammunition into the slide. I attempted 4 different brands of ammunition but each and everyone failed to shoot. I called Shoot Point Blank and spoke to (IAN) and explained my problem. (IAN) stated that all weapons sold are sold as is, no returns or repairs. I told (IAN) that i have spent over $3.500 at that particular store in the last two years. (IAN) then stated that its state law that they cannot nor are they responsible for a weapons exchange or repair. I advised (IAN) that i am a recently retired Police Officer and i know for a fact this is not a state law. (IAN then stated if i have a problem that i could contact ( Tom Willingham) owner of Shoot Point Blank but couldnt not provide me with an email or phone number for Mr. Willingham. I asked what am i suppose to do with a brand new wepon that was newly purchased from them that they will not stand behind and he said try shipping it back to the manufacturer. I told him that was bullshit, why should I have to pay for shipping this weapon back when all i wanted was to exchange the weapon for one that works. (IAN ) again stated thats the policy there's nothing i can do for you and hung up. Like i said earlier ,i have spent over $3.500 at this store within the last two years. Its clear that Shoot Point Blank only cares about making money and once the sale is completed they dont care if your satisfied with the weapon or if its working properly.
