Mango sorbet on a sprinkle cone
    Nathan D.

We were walking the pedestrian areas during the evening and our daughter was asking for ice cream. Since we had been out and about all day and it was still pretty warm out, we obliged. Thankfully this little shop was there and had a pretty decent selection of desserts. Once my daughter saw that they had dipped cones, it was a sure thing we were getting something here. She picked the mango sorbet. Her sorbet was really good, not too sweet surprisingly and worked really well with the sprinkle dipped cone. She was a happy camper. We came back again later in the week for some more, this time she got a soft serve which was good. I ordered a crepe this time since I was hungry. The two women who work here are pretty amazing with their team work. Right after I ordered the line grew to probably 15 people deep. They stayed on top of the orders with the ice cream, drinks and making the crepes. The space is quite crowded when waiting for the crepe when there is a long line and it was a bit tricky to get out. But it was all worth it, it was fun to watch the crepe get made. Once I got it outside to eat I was shocked how much food it was. It looks like it had at least 1.5 bananas on it as well as the nutella topping. Super good though, definitely worth sharing as this would be a lot to eat for one person. I would highly recommend this place, even if there is a line they are very efficient.

After the Poutine Fest we attended down by the Old Port, we needed something sweet so my local friend suggested we check out Mlle Catherine. I was thinking I wanted gelato but when we walked inside, I saw they just had a few flavors of gelato and sorbet, but that most people seemed to be getting soft serve dipped in a variety of coatings. As the saying goes, when in Montreal, do like the Romans, so I decided to get a soft serve dip. I chose vanilla soft serve and a sea salt caramel dip with a regular cone. As I started to eat it while my friends were ordering it, I realized this wasn't just any regular soft serve. I expected it to be light and airy like Carvel or Dairy Queen but it was thick, dense and rich...kind of like frozen custard if you've ever been to Culver's in the midwest. The nice thing about that thick, creamy soft serve was that it took awhile to eat so I was able to savor the flavor for a long time. Some soft serve is so airy you're able to eat it in a few bites but this let's you extend your enjoyment. It was a beautiful Saturday evening in July when I went so there were a lot of people in line but they had several women working and it moved fairly fast. Even writing this review, I'm reminded of the rich creaminess and want to go back and have some more!

The soft serve is whatever - too airy for me - but the chocolate dip is legit thick actual chocolate, none of that engineered shell stuff. This is a layer of smooth melt in your mouth milk chocolate. Utter delight. For soft serve, they have vanilla and a rotating flavor of the day. The chocolate gelato was good, but nothing to write home about. It's all expensive but maybe the location demands that. Idk if it's cheaper at their other location. ~14CAD for the cone and single scoop.

Got a soft serve vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate hazelnut sauce. Service was quick and line moved fast. The space is small but well designed. Great location in Old Montreal. Great choice for a sweet treat while in that area

Cute little shop with amazing coffee and ice cream. Stopped here after lunch, for a small, sweet treat. The lady working there worked quick and effectively to keep the line moving, and having us not wait long. Not a huge assortment of flavors since they change them every week, but this helps the decision process and have an excuse to go back to see what's in store next. I went with Cookies & Cream, and it did not disappoint. On top of that, they had a wall filled with mini Nutella jars... if you can maki it without buying one you have more will power than I do. Don't miss out and go in next time you're in their part of town.

80-degree weather, this place gets very busy. A one person show when we visited. It was quite a wait, but it was definitely worth the wait. My kids had the sundae, and they loved it. The highlight was my passionfruit sorbet! A dairy free option: raspberry, mango, and passionfruit. It was nothing I had tried. Being a big fan of passionfruit, I fell in love with this. There are many options of deserts, so pay a visit, and you will not be disappointed. Soft serves, sundaes soberts, crepes and coffee options.

Mlle Catherine is 10/10 ! The vanilla molle avec trempage with any of the chocolate dip flavor options were so delicious!! We came here three times during our four day trip and tried Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and Ferrero. Beautiful gift store connected to ice cream shop. Kind service.

Cute little spot on the main street downtown in old Montreal. There was a little line but moved quickly. I couldn't decide on ice cream or crepes. So I got both. The Nutella and strawberry crepe was good except im used to filing on the inside. This was all just on top. I also got the dipped soft serve vanilla and coffee flavor on a nut dipped come. The chocolate was amazing!!! It was Belgian milk chocolate . The server was friendly

It's been a full month since I visited this spot and I am still thinking about it. We got a chocolate dipped vanilla soft serve. The chocolate was rich and milky (hard to describe good) while the sweetness of the vanilla was just right. I don't really eat much dessert so I was glad I got to share this but definitely wish I could have tried more flavors of their coffee.

Came here craving sorbet. It's a very small space with 3 tables available to sit around. We tried their mango and raspberry flavors which were on par with other places I've gone to. Staff were kind and patient as we were considering our decisions. Would come again if in the area.

The very wisely located shop, right in the middle of place Jacques Cartier does not only serve homemade ice cream, sorbet and milkshakes but also coffee, smoothies, refreshing drinks, like lemonade and slush for those beautiful hot summer days in the old port, and crêpes! We only tried their temporary maple ice cream for now but it was good enough to make us want to return for more.

What an aesthetically pleasing little establishment located up the strip right in old Montreal. I think the bright colors is what draws patrons into this place. There is seating outside to enjoy your sweet treat. The inside is small, there is no seating options. The menu has everything from - ice cream, milkshakes, hot beverages as well. The staff does not miss the opportunity to speak to each person who walks in. We were immediately provided options and even catered to our request. We ended up getting Coffee based Shake. It was refreshing for a warm afternoon. The store itself carries very unique soft pink & nude color trinkets.

Pretty good ice cream, and you can have it dipped in chocolate. A little too sugary for my liking.

I ordered my raspberry and custard danish to pair with my Americano coffee... but I also wanted something more substantial so I went with the pancetta. Well, I thought I was ordering the pancetta, when I pointed at the item with the sign for it, it was actually a ham and cheese croissant...but until they served it I didn't know that's what I had pointed to. When I questioned it that it didn't look like pancetta they said that people always mix that up... I guess maybe they ought to display it differently, but they happily made me the pancetta and I took it to go because at that point I had already bit into the ham and cheese and that along with the danish and coffee, it was enough for then... They didn't charge me for the pancetta! That was NICE, so I gave them an extra tip in the jar, because they were very gracious about it. The danish was very good and went nicely with the coffee. I enjoyed my window seat overlooking the street (until the bee came....) Later, when I went to eat the pancetta, I unwrapped it and found it to be barely filled with any meat, but certainly plenty of greens. It wasn't pleasant, so I didn't really take but a couple bites before throwing that away. I'm glad I didn't pay for it, if that's how it normally comes. Overall I'd go again and order the danish and coffee. The ham and cheese was actually pretty good too. But I'd be careful on the pancetta.. maybe it was a one-off situation.

We ordered a hot chocolate, cappuccino, tiramisu, and an affogato, and every single item exceeded expectations. The hot chocolate was rich, smooth, and indulgent without being overly sweet -- pure comfort in a cup. The cappuccino was perfectly brewed with bold espresso flavor and beautifully textured milk, exactly how a great Italian-style coffee should be. The highlight of our visit, without question, was the affogato. It was hands down the best I've ever had. The pistachio gelato was unbelievably creamy, nutty, and flavorful, and when paired with the hot espresso, it created an unforgettable balance of temperature and taste. It was truly out of this world and worth the visit on its own. To finish, the tiramisu was light, perfectly layered, and not overpowering -- a flawless end to an already incredible experience. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and authentic. Café Olimpico isn't just a café -- it's an experience. Exceptional quality, consistency, and passion in every cup and dessert. During my own research, I also learned this was a popular spot known for their high quality Italian pastries. Since we were in Mile End and looking for some coffee and carbs, we thought it would be a good place to check out, so off we went. The café sits on a corner among several other commercial businesses; the entrance catches the eye with a hunter green awning that dons the Olympic torch and rings, as well as some outdoor seating. The inside very much gives off Italian café vibes - it's a medium-sized open area with tables scattered throughout. The production counter sits to the left where orders are placed, and televisions with different sports are projected across the perimeter. In addition to this location in Mile End, they have three other locations. We definitely wanted to get some coffee, but I didn't want to leave without browsing their bakes so I was scanning what they had. They have a good variety of coffee beverages, as well as several pastries. I ultimately decided to get a cappuccino, and we split three bakes: a pistachio cornetto, a ricotta bomboloni, and an amaretto cookie. The bakes were good. The cornetto was filled with pistachio cream which is kinda played out due to the Dubai chocolate craze - but the cornetto was nice and airy with a good filling ratio. The bombolini was also good as was the cookie - really high-quality bakes all around. Service was good, and overall I really enjoyed my experience at Café Olimpico. The coffee and pastries were good, and the vibes are on. I wouldn't hesitate to return the next time I'm in Montreal.
