How do we laff this off or close and replace this business? I know I can order a soft ice cream cone in a cup with a cone as a hat. I can replace the goblet for a sugar cone at a small price. That price is NOT $5.50, and over $6 is too much for a bit of dip on 1/2-3/4c of soft ice cream. I don't know was the puppet fluff ice cream servant helping me or both of us to dodge a bullet? What a great concept! Especially if you're a soft-serve ice cream fan (like myself. I much prefer soft-serve to regular ice cream or gelato, which I find too heavy and rich). This place is the cutest, with tons of options for toppings (not so much for the soft-serve base itself). I really like how they have a "mini" size cone, which is perfect for me (and for everyone else in my party of four, apparently!). It really is the perfect treat. I chose a vanilla base of soft-serve with the salted caramel dip and it was delicious. We all thoroughly enjoyed our treats, sitting at a table in the rear courtyard on a hot, Montreal evening, with the string lights on. So pretty! Nice touch, too, that they have some games and toys there for children to play with. read more

It just opened a week ago, the staff is polite, they have a large collection of dips, lots of flavors and garniture toppings. My favorite is Caramel fleur de sel dip with the Oreo and kit kat garniture. My only comment that lead me to a 3 stars review is the size of ice cream, that is not very generous, also they do not offer water cups like most places in Quebec. read more

An interesting concept where the emphasis is more on the toppings versus the icecream itself. I've been seeing this more these days. There are several sizes of cones to choose from, each is filled with vanilla soft serve, dipped in one of many coating, and sprinkled with bits of whatever you would like. A regular cone with dip and one topping will set you back around $7. I had my regular cone dipped in dark chocolate and topped with skor bits. It was a nice treat, especially on summer days where you can sit on their back patio and enjoy the weather. I still prefer my icecreams to be interesting themselves versus topped with additions, but that's a personal thing. You can also get your icecream sandwiched in cookies if that's your thing. My friend wouldn't recommend dipping (which is an option still), since it doesn't add too much to the experience. read more

I actually prefer their thinner chocolate dips compared with Chocolat Favoris which feels like the soft serve ice cream has a thick leather armor on!! The other thing I noticed is that it's not as sweet at Choco Favoris dips which sometimes feels like a sugar overdose. The wafer cups are thin so mine was a touch soft near the end. A must-go! La Diperie is like... DQ for young professionals and hipsters. It's got amazing options, and who knew you could do so much with vanilla soft serve, toppings and dips? Haven't tried their chocolate bars yet, which seem pretty intriguing! Only fault here, the price is about 10% too high for what you get. Yes, there's a LOT of choice and they've now expanded into carrying slices of cheesecake too, but the markup is a little too high. Also, I'm a no-go on the ice cream sandwiches. I loved the concept of creating your own ice cream here. We got 4 cones and each one looked so unique. I got the strawberry dipped vanilla soft serve covered in oreos and I was surprised that the strawberry did not taste artificial. If I lived near a la dipperie, I would get fat for sure from going there every week. read more

Walked (no, ran) in here on a stormy Sunday afternoon and was met by a big blackboard full of options. After speaking to the nicest lady behind the counter, and trying multiple flavors before committing, I decided to go for a weird combination (for those who don't know, La Diperie offers vanilla soft serve that you can dip into a choice of 40 flavors and top with a your choice of yummy's). I got the mini cup dipped in spicy chocolate and topped with nacho chips. Yes, you read that right: SALTY NACHO CHIPS. Oh em gee was that a phenomenal combination! The sweetness of the ice cream was perfectly balanced by the salty chips and spicy chocolate. Hubby had a praline dip topped with crushed Kit Kat which I found to be nothing special, but I was happy with my choice! Service was super friendly, and the store itself has lots of seating out back. The only negative is that the price is a little steep with a mini and a small ice cream amounting to a total of $9. Anyways, I can look past the price because of my yummy combo. So, run over to La Diperie and grab an ice cream topped with nachos (buy me one too and send it my way!). Let me know what you think! :) read more

We have a new Diperie that opened in the area and it's very good! But (there's always a but) I don't know if it was because it was too hot or because the actual dip was not thick enough or because the ice cream was not cold enough but it melted very quickly compared to the ones of Chocolats Favoris. However La Diperie can enjoy more choices and original ones at that! I had a cheesecake dip with some graham crackers on top and it was amazing! Keep it up! read more

Ah, the infamous blue wall with a chocolate dipped ice cream covered in toppings! For the longest time, I've been going to Chocolat Favouris since it opened in Place Des Arts (No more having to purposely go to Boucherville), but I have since found a new go-to ice cream shop: La Diperie. Good: A huge selection of chocolate dips, not just your standard milk chocolate, white chocolate and dark chocolate. You can sample some chocolate flavors before you commit, which is fantastic for indecisive people like me. You start by ordering a base size with the option to add in toppings/chocolate for an extra cost. I usually order the 'mini', which is enough of a snack size since you really get your money's worth. Bad: I'm a designer, so I just can't get over how uneven their logo and banners are every time I eat there (I would fix it in exchange for free ice cream though, tell them to call me). I wish their chocolate coating was a bit thicker because it doesn't harden as quick and the ice cream would end up melting on my hand really quick. Still, it's delicious. Bottom line: This is still my go to spot in the summer time, and I'm so glad that there's multiple locations around the city now! read more

Unlike Toronto's Sweet Jesus, La Diperie is actually affordable and you don't have to worry about your wife going into labour while waiting in line. Size wise they got everything but the kitchen sink. From "Mini", to "Petit", to "Normal", and "Grand" -- they got all the shapes and size that'll satisfy your weirdess ice-cream fetishes. Great ice cream place. I am a big fan of Oreo and surprisingly they had an Oreo dipping. Compared to other La Diperie places, the dipping at this location seems to melt pretty fast on me, which leaded to a total mess on my hand. Fun fact, the temperature was 18°C so I was pretty sure it wasn't because of the weather! read more

In Montreal, we have been spoiled over the past few years in terms of number of great ice cream shops that have opened up across the different neigborhoods. Wherever you live, you can get great artisan ice cream. I have already written about a few - my current champion is Dalla Rose by far - but over the past few weeks, I have tried a few other ones. Next, I finally tried La Diperie! Now, I know I am a few years behind on this one. What was originally one location on Pine Ave. has exploded this year as they franchised so now, in Quebec alone, there are 21 locations now. The opening of a St-Henri location made it easier for me to finally see what all the buzz is about. La Diperie is know for their ridiculous dipped soft served cones topped with tons of topping. The amount of choices is a bit ridiculous in terms of both dips and toppings. Plus, they have speciality cones. I decided to go for one of their speciality cone and went for their Lime Key Pie sundae with lemonade lime dip and tea cookie topping. The soft serve vanilla texture wise was great - reminded me of classic Dairy Queen of my youth. Flavour was good as well. The dip was very flavourful and very mimicked key lime pie very well. The consistent of the dip allowed it to stiffen up perfectly around the soft serve so no issues cleanliness-wise but it was very sweet to the point of being a little overbearing. The concept is good but it is clearly popular enough at this point but I think I need to try a few other sundae to see if the other dips are that sweet as well before I can make this place a to-go for me. read more

My 5 girlfriends and I are visiting from new York and we stumbled upon this gem after dinner. I love the concept and the fact that they offer a mini version since we were full from dinner. There were so many flavors and they were so accommodating in letting us taste try them. I got the mini cookie dough with Oreos and it was AMAZING. First time at this location! La diperie is a great place to go if you love ice cream and chocolate. As with the other locations, they serve soft serve vanilla ice cream only, but they have like 30 different dipping options and a bunch of topping options as well! The dipping options has the white/milk/dark chocolate based flavors and has some pretty interesting ones! (E.g. lavender, lemonade, maple fudge) and the more basic ones (e.g. mint, sea salt, salted caramel etc). If you can't make up your mind, because there are so many options, they usually allow you to taste the dipping first before making your choice which is super nice. The combination can be as original and creative as you like it to be, or it can be more on the safe side (like me!) This location I find is a bit better than the one on Pine ave because there's actually a terrasse out back where you can sit down and enjoy your ice cream while chatting with your friends. So that's a nice little plus. There's even a sink there to wash our sticky ice cream smeared hands! Love la diperie! read more

I was so happy to find this place! Real ice cream with real dairy, not whipped full of air. It doesn't leave that oily film in your mouth like Dairy Queen does, which is like eaten frozen Crisco. The selections of dips and toppings make it almost impossible to decide. I advise to downsize- it is more filling than your usual soft serve. Prices realistic. The location is small and outside crowded so they lose a star. read more

La Diperie opening on Notre-Dame is the best and the worst think that could happen to me, you can't go wrong with a dip soft serve, and it is on my way home from my aquabootcamp... But as I said I love chocolate dip ice cream, they have a very large selection of dip and of topper, for my first time over there I took a "regular" size dip in dark salt chocolate with pretzel on top. The dark chocolate sauce was great and being a big fan of the salty / sweet combination, you can not go wrong. Their size are very generous, so the regular is BIG, be careful. Only down for me was point is that they have not mastered yet the dipping to have the right consistency, thick enough to have a nice 'crust' which allow you to savour your cone without having the ice cream dripping all over the place. If you compare them to Chocolat Favoris whom clearly master the dipping, La Diperie have more choice are more topping. Conclusion, go there if you like to have endless choices of combination or go to chocolat Favoris for a classic chocolat dip ice cream. read more
