Cookie sandwich dipped in chocolate with toppings was DELICIOUS. I'm rather picky about my cookies and these were fantastic. Cookie dough was super rich, but if that's your thing, you'll love it. Service was friendly, welcoming and went above and beyond. All the available choices make me want to go again and again to try them all. There's genuinely something for everyone here.
My dream come true! Not an ice cream fan like I've mentioned before. Dipped ice cream with many chocolate and you can pick your toppings. You have many to choose from the best being Oreo and skor tho :) Really nice clean little shop in the heart of the village, friendly staff willing to help explain the different types of chocolate there is to choose from. 100 percent would come back to this location had a great time with my friend. Singing and dancing in front of the mirror while we ate ice cream. What else could you ask for ?
Soft serve vanilla ice cream mini cone dipped in dark chocolate! Oh yeah!!! The perfect sized treat before dinner. Yeah, we could not resist ice cream and judging by how busy this small shop was when walking by we had to step in and try it out. Delicious soft serve vanilla iced cream with so many toppings and dips to indulge in. We went with the mini cone size, and even though the cone is so small it's laughable, you actually get a lot of ice cream jammed into it. Dipped into dark chocolate syrup it hardens quickly to a shell sealing in the ice cold goodness. So perfect, and so righteous. No place to really sit at as it's a spot to pick up a cone or cup and devour as you're walking along the street, which we did on the way to dinner. Don't judge - we were on vacation! Dessert before dinner is acceptable in this instance.
Such a fun concept. It's like a yeh but it's soft serve and the toppings are much better. The service is pretty fast and the menu has so many good options. The person who made my cone was so careful when he used the machine. I was really impressed by this little shop. If it hadn't been for Yelp, I probably would have never discovered this place. The cone itself was delicious. I got a cone with dark chocolate dip and almonds. The chocolate was 55% dark and it didn't overwhelm the vanilla ice cream. The almonds didn't fall off everywhere as I was eating either. It's a small pet peeve of mine when I get sprinkles or nuts and they don't stick to the dip on the cone. The prices are very reasonable. It is worth knowing that the mini cone is very small so if you want to try different combinations you can, but it'll be a very small portion. And the small cone is slightly too big so it might be too much ice cream if you want to try two combinations. The mini cone is the size of the maple cone. I wasn't expecting the ice cream to be poured in the cone so that the centre was hollow but it makes sense since it is then dipped. I thought it was very amusing. Definitely caught me by surprise. I just wish it wasn't cash only. A really fun experience. I will for sure be coming back soon.
This place is great! You choose what type of soft serve you want. You choose what type of dip you want. You choose your toppings. What's not to like?! We came during my bachelorette weekend and they even have tiny cones if you feel like you've been too over indulgent all weekend in Montreal :) Adorable little spot!
So many choices. The girl behind the counter was nice and patience as my boyfriend and I took a little while because we were over whelmed with the choices. I had hazelnut chocolate over vanilla ice cream with coconut shavings and my boyfriend had some apple pie mixture in a fancy bun/danish kind of cone. Again so many choices! Super cute décor. Will be back!

The serve only vanilla ice cream, but let you choose a chocolate coating and some other toppings as well. We chose a hazelnut coating and a coconut topping, which was good but not amazing. It was my first time going to La Diperie. There was a line inside because of the hot weather yesterday. The prices were good. The service was good too, spoke both French and English well. My friend and I got 2 regular sized ice creams with dip and garnish, it came out bigger than I thought it would be. I got the regular sized with mint chocolate dip and oreo garnish. It wasn't too sweet which I liked. It was filling too. My friend had the oreo dip with almonds garnish. She was expecting it to be super sweet when she saw it but she said it was nice, not too sweet. My only real complaint was that the door to leave is right where you pay and you pull it from the inside to leave, not the best design with line ups and having to wait for your friend's ice cream. If you're looking for a nice cool dessert or snack on the go, I recommend coming here.
So many dips! Almost too many dips! No, no... that's impossible. There were just the right amount of dips. Although your first time is still a bit overwhelming. I settled on a large cone ($4) with pralines and cream dip (+$1) and almonds (+$0.50). You can choose from over 20 dips and 10 toppings, but I can't for the life of me remember them all. Oreo was definitely one of them. Anyway, the guy at the counter prepped my cone meticulously, making me wonder if he was seriously into his craft or just really stoned. Regardless, excellent service. It's a fun and fresh experience on a street (des Pins Est) that has been lacking excitement for quite some time. I'd strongly recommend checking it out.
A novelty concept, but just okay. The soft serve centre only comes in vanilla flavour (mediocre), and you choose the flavour of the dip 'shell', either from the set menu of specials or the custom menu. I mistakenly thought the coconut special would be coconut ice-cream with a dark choc dip, but they just add coconut flakes onto the chocolate. I found it was too thick of a layer to munch through before enjoying the ice-cream, by which time gets quite melty. Servings are large - even for a 'small', so you get your money's worth. If you don't have a massive sweet tooth, this place probably isn't for you!
This place is adorable! They sell (as others have pointed out) soft serve ice cream with a wide variety of toppings and dips (most are chocolate based). They only have vanilla ice cream however. They offer preset combos (Tex-Mex! With nachos?!) or you can just combine topping and create your own masterpiece. There are also a couple of sizes to choose from - cheapest cone is only 1$. Of course, with such prices, you don't get high quality Belgian chocolate dips and homemade ice cream - but the finished product is delicious nonetheless! This is a mom and pop shop - from my understanding, their kids come and help out every once in a while. Everyone is super friendly - it's the kind of business you want in your neighborhood. Because that's where you'll want to have a cone with your roommates on a hot summer night - or where you want to head after a dinner date in the area! Cash is king, so bring your hard earned dollars - don't fret though, it's really quite affordable.
This is super close to Schwart'z smoked meat, so I walked here on the way there! There was a line, but it moves fast. What really stands out here is the sheer amount of dips you can choose from (see my photos). I already love Chocolat Favoris, but there are only 12 flavours there; here, there is AT LEAST double that! I chose the bailey's dip (mmm), and rainbow sprinkles (solely for Instagram purposes...I know I know haha)! I also chose 2 of their pre-selected flavour combinations which are listed on the board. Prices are reasonable ($3 for the smallest size), and the vanilla soft serve is not too sweet. I would come back again for sure!
I am SO HAPPY that La Diperie is finally open again. Though it is just getting warm in Montreal, I have been awaiting its return for over a month now. I got the Bailey's sauce with chocolate sprinkles and pretzels. Would go with just chocolate sprinkles next time because the pretzels are a bit tricky to eat, especially with a cone but delicious nonetheless. At my last visit, I got the L'Après Match which was also AMAZING.

This place is great! You choose what type of soft serve you want. You choose what type of dip you want. You choose your toppings. What's not to like?! The place is plain and simple genius. You start off with Vanilla soft serve. Next you pick from a large array of dips (thus the name get it). I've only tried the milk chocolate because it was so good I refuse to venture to anything else. Their options are absolutely fantastic though - ranging from Caramel, to Orange to cookie dough. Then, you choose form another delightful selection of toppings like maple pecans and classic sprinkles. The line up outside can be long but you'll need the time to decide what to get! Warning: you will be optimistic and order the large. It's HUGE and might be too much. Be realistic! read more
Don't underestimate the size of their ice creams. For me, "mini" was plenty. You choose a dip, you choose a topping, and boom, delicious ice cream for 2.30$, way cheaper and way tastier than your average Magnum. Their new flavours (apple pie, cinnamon roll...) are to die for. Go, quickly before they close for winter! read more
It is a small spot, but very cute and a very light, friendly atmosphere. They have quite a few options- numerous dips, soft serve ice creams and several toppings. My friends really enjoyed what they received and I would definitely go back. read more

If you like soft serve, you must go to La Diperie! Their ice cream is vanilla soft serve with your choice of dip and topping. They have many options of dips and toppings. A few examples of dips are oreo, cookie dough, raspberry cheesecake, milk, white, and dark chocolate. I recommend the oreo or the cookie dough! Some of their toppings include sprinkles, pistachios, pretzels, banana chips, oreo and graham cracker. Their small size is the perfect amount! The cost of a small with dip and topping comes to $5.20. This is the perfect place to grab an ice cream and relax in the summer. Beware of the long line! The wait is worth it, especially if you LOVE soft serve. Also their ice cream against their baby blue painted walls make great Instagram photos! PS. They only accept cash! read more
Walking by this place every day/night and always being a line made me question whether it would actually be worth it or not and it deffintely was. They have a ton of different dipping flavors and to make it even better they have a good list of toppings to offer as well! Ice cream was creamy and delicous. read more
Went to La Diperie last night with a few friends for a treat. The place is super welcoming and clean cut. At first the options seem kind of confusing but the staff is really friendly and willing to explain. I got the L'Apres-Match with is vanilla soft serve dipped in dark chocolate, covered in pretzels and drizzled with caramel. It was TO DIE FOR. Unfortunately three of us ordered the same thing and the fourth ordered a white chocolate dip with coconut topping... So not a ton of variety to talk about between us. The pricing is actually very reasonable for a custom treat and there's five different sizes to choose from. My only complaint would be the awkward set up near the front door which makes people constantly feel like they are in the way of people entering the shop. read more

Love the variety of choices for the dips- such a great concept. I wish they had more toppings however-like cookie dough. I got the birthday cake dip with smarties on top and enjoyed it. However, if you don't like something too sweet this probably isn't the joint for you. Overall, a unique concept. read more
A delicious idea for a sunny day! Lots of chocolates options and dozens of different toppings will make you flip while you are at the line. Which combination will I have today?! You have millions of combinations. The offer 4 different sizes: from mini to big. My suggestion? Try the mini. You will enjoy more your toppings. The big ones are really big and after the topping, it's just a regular ice cream. Friendly service. Only cash. Prices very affordable. (Starting at $1). They also have a little terrace so you can enjoy the nice weather. Why I gave 3 stars: 1) the ice cream itself is just a regular one. Nothing special. 2) the ice cream cones are also ok. No need to eat it all. 3) the stars are all for the idea of the chocolates and the toppings. Overall: I'll be back anyway... I love chocolate and ice cream is awesome to enjoy Montreal's good weather. You should try! read more

Very cute hole in the wall. We actually went to it's sister location about a half hour before it was supposed to close and the line there seemed unending. Figuring it was not worth the wait, we came here to a much smaller line and closer to the house. Good ice cream and small parks around to enjoy it! read more
La Diperie allows you to be creative and customize how you'd like your cream to be served. Kids and ice cream lovers should really love this concept. The ice cream is crème molle (vanilla soft ice cream) dipped in a flavor of your choice with a sprinkle of something of your heart's desire. You can even opt for a cone of your liking as well. The level of customization is pretty impressive, with the various dip options as well as condiments to sprinkle your creation you can be quite creative. I opted for the caramel sale dip with graham crackers as my sprinkle of choice. I opted for the pastry cone as well, Why live to 40? Sadly, the pastry cone was stale and made the whole experience quite anti-climatic for me. The bottom of ice cream is usually the best part making your want more and since the cone was so stale it kind of put off trying this place again. Didn't have a line-up when I went but they still took their sweet time to get my ice cream ready, close to 15 minutes. Are you guys for real? While the ice cream itself was quite good, not ensuring your product is as fresh and clean as it needs to be and serving patrons as if you're working a summer job (even if it is) is not good. The ice cream market in Montreal is pretty competitive and things like this tend to speak for themselves. read more

I seriously questioned if waiting in a super long line for soft serve was really worth it. I was proved wrong! The ice cream with the toppings were amazing. The La'apres caramel pretzel was amazing. A few tips for newbee's - Go in the middle of a work day to avoid the crowds. or even early afternoon on a weekend. We went on a Sunday around 8pm right after a short burst of rain and the line was JUST starting to form out the door. (which was a short line) and it still took us a SOLID half hour to get our order. We saw lines going down the sidewalk 30-40 people deep, i can only think it must take over an hour to get your order when its like that. Another tip, Order a large, the small and medium wont cut it. plus the soft serve is hollow in the middle. I would give 5 stars but i felt the line was going unreasonably slow. The workers while friendly and made the experience personal were in no rush to make the line move any faster. They could have kept up quality and friendliness either working faster or hiring another person. read more

Great ice cream place, been here a bunch of times with friends. There is usually a line but it moves fast. For $5 after tax you can get a small which is by no means actually a small ice cream serving. So many choices here and they all usually turn out fun and worth it. Definitely would recommend during the summer! read more

Who doesn't like dipped ice-cream during the hot summer days of Montreal? La Diperie is open late and there's always a line-up at the door. It's located in the middle of the plateau so it's perfect to stroll around the neighborhood with your frozen dessert. They have so many different kind of chocolate dip and toppings varying from pretzel to pistachios! And you can finish off your masterpiece with a salty caramel drizzle! Can't wait to go back! read more

Went here for the first time for a good treat after a not so good dinner. And I LOVED IT! I needed it so much. I've never eaten an ice cream like that. I got the ice cream with white chocolate and chocolate crisps on top, and the white chocolate(the dip) freezes right away, so it becomes really crunchy.You have tons of options for the dip and topping, so its good cause you can customize it. Its really good for a treat for yourself! I'd just say be careful with the size of the cone, as they seem very small when you look at the cones, but what you really get is pretty big. I thought I got a small one, but ended up being so big that I couldnt even finish it. I wish I could finish the entire thing tho! read more

I love this concept of soft serve. A tasty vanilla soft serve dipped in your choice of a variety of flavors and topped with any topping of your choosing. My husband got the ginger dip topped with almonds and I got the maple topped with Oreos. Both were full of flavor and very tasty. Would suggest for a warm day in Montreal. read more
On our last night in Montreal, which happened to be a Monday, we were very sad that Kem CoBa was closed. You see, the boyfriend's favourite dessert is ice cream. "Have you ever seen an ice cream place more reviewed? MORE LOVED?" Feeling defeated we were driving around looking for a place to get coffee before getting on the highway to head home when I spotted the tiny little place that is La Diperie. "STOP THE CAR, ICE CREAM!" The place is cash only, which ended up being a bit tricky for us, but after digging through the car we scrounged together the $4,50 for one medium cone to share. Through much deliberation and at the recommendation of the extremely nice owner, we had a medium cone with 70% dark chocolate dip and pistachios. From the first bite, I can tell you this place is all about the dip & toppings. The chocolate was great, and they don't hold back on the pistachios. The soft serve was just good. Creamy, slightly rich, better quality than typical ice cream truck garbage, but I can't see why anyone would pick soft serve over real ice cream. I would have also liked to see soft serve flavours other than vanilla. The real down point was they only have cake cones (yuck), I would pay extra for a sugar or waffle cone. Finally as another Yelper pointed out this soft serve does melt fast, so eat quickly! Great place, fantastic staff, decent selection, open late, the perfect end to a weekend. read more

This is a really great place to have ice cream. You can chose the type of ice cream, type of dipping and also the crushy stuff in top of it ! Sooo good! I would recommand to take a smaller one than usual, because the portion aren't the regular size we are used to it. read more
