Worst experience I've ever had. They asked me how much stuff I had and I estimated even though I…read moresaid I hadn't packed yet. I shared I had a1650 sq foot home and listed all big items. They charged me double and blamed me for not listing everything in my house. Moved me with 2 people and a truck but left 25% of my belongings for me to move or pay another 1000$. I'm not a moving expert, if they needed every item In my house they should have sent a checklists or asked me fur photos. Instead made me pay for a third person and left my stuff behind. Taking me an extra weekend so now a delay in putting my house on the market. More disturbing is they expect their workers to run for 11-12 hours with no breaks and barely a lunch. I found the entire experience disturbing. Never again and you shouldn't support this lack of caring for their staff acceptable. I've been a leader many years and I'd never ask my staff to work in these conditions.

We also went over the mileage predictions. On moving day, Joseph and Matt showed up with their truck and they busted their asses loading. I had everything pre-staged ready to go in about 40 boxes and they padded wrapped my furniture. They were done in just over an hour. Moving into my new place...just over an hour. Again, my old place although a 2300 sq/ft house had minimalist contents. The great news is Joseph's prediction on time and mileage was spot on and I had no damage to my possessions. Had Two Men and a Truck handle the heavy furniture and bulk property items during our move to our…read morenew home. They arrived on time. There was clearly a big disparity in ability, motivation, and competence between the two. I was present for both the pack out and delivery, which was completed in one full day. They had to disassemble a treadmill, furniture, and two beds in the packout, and they hadn't a clue regarding the treadmill, which they ultimately damaged getting it out of the house. A new leather sofa was also damaged when they failed to cover it adequately and were unable to position it properly while going through the front entry. A wooden coat rack was torn off the wall during the couch dilemma. The helper, who appeared to be a recent or day of hire also dropped a tabletop on his foot, and it appeared that he would not be able to continue. After a 15-minute min. pause, however, he was back to work and never mentioned his injured foot again. The single bright spot in the experience was the insurance for the damage caused. A supervisor followed up, and after providing him with photos of the damage, a monetary settlement/allowance was agreed to and satisfactory. Would not be a repeat customer.

They then broke it during a mere 4 mile move, and would not replace it (a 2 x 2 foot piece of marble) because I did not purchase extra insurance. They agreed to pay $60, which, after numerous phone calls, they never paid. This company used to be good, and I've used them for a number of moves. They are now corrupt, unethical shysters who focus on the money-grab, and could care less about people.

I used Hernia movers 3 years ago to unload a U-Haul when I moved to WI - no issues. The 3 guys were…read moreon time, nice and professional. I decided to use them again when it came time to move out and load up my U-Haul to move across the country again (they were aware we had a long drive ahead of us with everything). Again the 3 guys were on time, nice, and professional. They were fast too! The cost was $248/hour (!!) for a weekday this time around (closer to $150/hour 3 years ago - no obvious increase in work effort or value) and it took 5 hours - about $1300 all in, which is wild. I rented about 30 blankets from U-Haul to protect furniture and also purchased plastic coverings designed for certain pieces. Upon arriving at my new home, I found that every piece of wood (real wood, not particle board) furniture was chipped or scratched or dirty - mostly all of the above. They didn't use most of the blankets or any of the plastic coverings. I'm very disappointed with the quality of packing the truck despite the tools they were given. Note that every box I packed myself and nothing is broken so far in my unpacking. So it wasn't the truck or other packing concerns.
