This is the ninth move my wife and I have made in 12 years for my job, so I've had a fair bit of experience with movers. Aside from one improvement opportunity for the company, I was very impressed and pleased with Kad's performance. The movers showed up precisely on time--literally to the minute. They were friendly and very efficient. The move took less time than I had expected. I felt they handled things safely, and they were patient with questions and a small delay. On the day of the move, everything was perfect. The only thing that could improve was the scheduling and communications beforehand. Everything felt a little loose (but obviously wasn't, as it turns out.) Phone calls and emails weren't returned with much speed. And there was no contract or agreement--just an email confirming we were booked. I tend to prefer a bit more documentation, but I don't want to dock a star because I can be a little bit "type A" about planning around a move. Really good price and a great group of movers. I would highly recommend them is you are moving within the Milwaukee Area. They moved a two story house and 2.5 car garage in ~8 hours with two trucks and four guys. The movers were very professional and a great group of guys. It made the move feel like you are moving with friends. They did a great job setting the furniture back up and nothing was damaged. A week before the move, I called to verify date and time. "Yep, you're in the book," he said. Three young guys showed up. My husband moved from Bay View to Wauwatosa several months back and we had put our boxes in storage because we were selling a house the same time we were buying a house. We wanted to make sure all our stuff was out of the old house prior to the final walk through by the new owners. We were originally going to move the boxes ourselves from the storage unit to the new house with the help of some friends. BUT then we decided that we didn't want to wait a week before we could move our stuff into the new house and pay another month for storage so we hired KAD Movers. They were extremely prompt and great at moving our stuff. They weren't throwing our boxes around...they actually put the boxes down like there were glass in them. Hands down the most reasonably priced movers in town! Not only were they affordable, but they were extremely friendly and professional, which makes a world of difference! They were scheduled to come at 9 a.m. but due to the extreme cold, they had a problem with the truck they were originally going to bring. Kevin called me to give me the heads up that they'd be a few minutes late due to the truck difficulty and told me they were bringing 2 other trucks instead. These guys were great! They helped us move twice today. Once out of a storage unit downtown and then out of our house in Whitefish Bay to our new home a blocks away. All four guys were friendly, efficient and extremely careful with all our things. I found their prices quite reasonable. We paid $155/hour for 4 guys. We wanted 4 guys since we had to move out of two places and figured more guys would save us time. I definitely think it was worth it. All four guys worked their butts off loading and unloading. The whole move took 5 hours which was great time considering how big of a move we had. read more

If you're looking for the most affordable, quickest working movers in Milwaukee look no further! These guys showed up for a 9:00 move at 8:50--impressive that they were early, but not annoyingly so in that we weren't ready. They moved all of our large items quickly and efficiently. It took them about 90 minutes on each end for a family of 4 (beds, cribs, desks, dressers, washers/dryers, fridge, dining tables, piano, etc.). They were super efficient, but also very careful. They made sure anything that was a little damaged before hand (our couch had a rip in the back) we were aware of, and when they got to the new house they removed all doors and light fixtures and were extra careful to not ding paint or scrape against walls--they were super attentive. They never sat down or took breaks, and made sure to ask where we wanted each piece of furniture and put it in the exact spot we wanted. You do call the owner's cell phone to schedule, and he asks you to call the week of to confirm (versus having more of a business line set up and him doing the confirming himself) but the he's a great guy, and we overheard the employees saying he gave them all surprise bonuses for Christmas which was just nice to know he treats his employees right. Also, when you're pricing movers in Milwaukee and live a little further out, all of them charge exorbitant fees, but theirs was super reasonable (an hour of time, which is less than it probably took them to get to our place and back to theirs). They were also cheaper for a larger truck and 3 movers than most places were for 2 guys and a smaller truck--you definitely get the best value of movers with them! Finally, Kevin (the owner) constantly thanked us for our business throughout the whole day. I felt like we were definitely getting more than our money's worth, plus we had supported a local business. read more

Let me start by saying that I am not very easily impressed but I was blown away by the service provided by KAD movers. They showed up 5 minutes early, and carefully moved a 2 bedroom apartment with washer/dryer in 3 hours total time for a very reasonable price. I asked them if, for a small fee, they could dispose of a small safe I had that was no longer working; they were willing to do so and did not charge me any extra for it. What I found extraordinary was that I had mistakenly left a gold pendant in the safe and this was returned to me by one of the movers. Kind of restored my faith in humanity a bit. They did a great job moving us 200+ miles from Milwaukee to the Northwoods of Wisconsin. They're dependable, professional and hard workers. No slacking, they worked non-stop and were careful with our belongings. They showed up at 9:00am, packed fragile items and loaded the truck which took 8 hours in total. Then they drove for 4 hours, arrived at our new home at midnight and then started to unload without a break. They said goodbye to us at 5:30am. It was a very long and tiring day to say the least (I don't know how they did it); they were consistently positive and professional the entire time. This said, I did not realize that they were not going to sleep (or allow us to sleep), it was an almost 24 hour being up experience. These guys are great. Three men showed up (EARLY!) to move my stuff across town. They had everything in the truck in less than 45 minutes. They were speedy and careful with my belongings. Even though it was extremely hot and muggy, they didn't stop to sit down or take breaks. They had everything unloaded at my new place in about half an hour. Avoid this moving company! I called multiple times and you will receive a voicemail every call. Callbacks from Kevin are slow, often a day or two later. Once I did reach him he quoted me an hourly price for a truck and 3 movers, we discussed when he could schedule the move and I confirmed with him that I'd like to book the move; he said "you're in the book". The day before the move I called to leave the move to address. Later that evening Kevin called to inform me that I wasn't in the book. I recalled for him the conversation we had, which he remembered, but said he never put me in the book and that he was sorry but he didn't have anyone else available to move our household goods. This left me scrambling to find someone on very short notice and at considerably more expense prior to closing on our house. Everything is verbal with this company which should have been a huge red flag. Do your self a favor and book your move elsewhere! Horrible experience!!! read more

Called KAD movers to get a quote on a move. They called back right away and provided competitive pricing. The team was also able to move on our desired date. On they day of the move, they came an hour late (due to a staffing emergency which was not an issue!) and worked extremely fast. The team of 3 were very nice, friendly, and quick. They moved us out in under a few hours and also helped by picking up our additional items in storage. During the loading of the truck, one of the members broke a leg off of a dresser claiming it was already broken. Having gone through 3 other moves, we found highly unlikely as it was a solid piece of furniture. They did offer to fix it, but decided against it. Overall, the team and company are professional, great with pricing, very friendly, easy to talk to, and quick to move. read more

We recently used KAD to do a household move for us. They were prompt on getting back to me and setting the appointment. They were on time and moved right along not taking any breaks. We moved approx. 160 miles a way, so it was a distance move. That's where the good part ended. They may be more experienced in moving, but my wife and I are more experienced about what fits through what doors in our old home. They were repeatedly told by my wife that the refrigerator would have to go out the front door, even with the doors off. They ignored my wife and it cost us large scratches on the kitchen parqay wood floor and gouges out of the linoleum in the back hall. When arriving at the new house, they ignored us once again when we told them that the house had new carpeting and everything that had to go in the house needed to go through the side door when possible. The ignored our request and immediately had all the doors open and had tracked across the new carpeting for at least a half hour before one of them finally put down some blankets over the carpet. Too friggen late for that. I found the key to my snowblower laying about 50 yards from the house in the driveway. After they left, I found 3 totes with valuable items smashed from things being piled on top. Most of the things were irreplaceable. We also have damage on our dining room chairs from stacking. After all of that, they had to have an employee that did nothing but complain about everything. He bitched twice about where they had to park the truck Even the other employees were tiring of it and I heard them badmouthing this guy behind his back.It was obvious that he didn't want to be there and should probably find another line of work. I found cigarrette butts in my driveway and my wife found a soda can tossed in the front yard. They left a tool behind and my wife was kind enough to return it. What a happy, concientious crew. 3 people with a total IQ of 27. I would think once, twice, three times before ever using them again. I don't think I would let them move a dog house. Throwing cigarette butts, cans, and ignoring the customer is just plain disrespectful. The worst is that they could probably care less. read more

Kad is a fantastic company. I arrived at my new place early and they were there soon after - 30 minutes early at no extra charge to make sure I wasn't there waiting for them, which is amazing and much appreciated. They were incredibly polite and friendly, they brought a little furniture dolly, and they worked hard without a single break in 90+ degree weather. They got all of my stuff (including about a dozen heavy boxes of books and several large pieces of furniture) moved up to the 6th floor in just two hours, and it only cost me $200 (they only accept cash). The only reason I didn't use them for my next move was because I waited until two days prior and they were booked. I ended up finding another good company but no one is anywhere near as affordable and efficient as Kad. They don't appear to spend any money at all on advertising or branding, but they pass those savings on to you, so don't be tempted to go with a fancy logo company if Kad is available.
