A previous contractor had installed LVP flooring in my mother's condominium so improperly that it created significant issues and posed a safety concern. I initially contacted Pete at 312 Flooring after finding the company online, simply hoping to get expert advice about the poor installation. Pete generously took the time to explain how the flooring should have been installed and what needed to be corrected. At that point, I was only seeking advice--not expecting to hire anyone. His knowledge, patience, and willingness to help impressed me so much that I called back to see whether 312 Flooring could repair the work the other contractor had left behind. They absolutely could--and did. The team handled a challenging project with exceptional skill and attention to detail. Their team assessed the situation, corrected the installation, and completed the job safely, properly, and with excellent craftsmanship. Communication was consistent and clear from start to finish. The crew was professional, knowledgeable, respectful of my older mom, and went above and beyond to ensure the job was done right. The finished result reflects the high quality of their workmanship. I sincerely regret not choosing 312 Flooring initially, and I would recommend them without reservation.

The workmanship alone would merit 5 stars, but our refinishing projects with them was one of these rare cases where every aspect of it went better than we could have hoped. The cost for their service is more than fair and well worth every penny. And their attention to detail was so deeply appreciated. From staining the thresholds on the doors and under the visible parts of the radiators to cutting down (and staining!!) the wood shims we had under the radiators to take up less actual and visible space, Ben's team truly thought of every detail. He does charge more than a few other quotes I received, but his rates reflect the quality of his work. He is very responsive and laid down all of the stain options I was looking at in 4 different rooms throughout my house so I could really see how the color looked in different lighting conditions. He was also able to seamlessly fill in all of the cracks in our floors making them look brand new and did the entire house in less than a week! Make sure you do your research on whether or not you want Synteko for your finish - we ended up going with a water-based finish since we have a dog and little babies crawling on our floors and didn't want to risk the toxins, but I would definitely trust Johnny with the finish if you're interested in it. Finally, about a month after moving in, one of our stair treads broke off and Johnny was able to come and replace it in a matter of days - he asked for the measurements ahead of time, so when he showed up at 8am, he already had the tread pre-cut and was done with everything within the hour. His work is truly phenomenal and I would recommend him for any hardwood needs you have!

Summary: Soma Tile (Lucas) is a partner through the process and his team is comprised of skilled…read moreand courteous professionals. I would not hesitate in referring them to anyone looking for bath and tile work!! Preface: Let me start this tale with some background. This project was not an exciting "Lets update our 20 year old bathroom and make it stylish and pretty". Instead the project started due to an undetected leak, the stress that comes from random water leaking in random places, and was filled with questions and concerns. Countless others "assured" me that this was a plumbing issue or just due to some neglected maintenance on a 5 year old new-install shower - and then wanted to blast holes everywhere to "find" the leak. At the same time, I did not want to rip apart a shower to then find out it might be plumbing and now a full on repair. I felt overwhelmed in making the wrong choice and doing 2 projects chasing my tail. Lucas walked me through all the typical scenarios that he has seen, leaning on the most probably is a structural fail of the shower system and then did a methodical exploration. A couple hours later and a minimal demo, he confirmed that it was in fact not plumbing related and was def. a failure of the shower system -- and walked me through what it would take. Once his team was onsite, they were focused - creating a whole "clean room" at the entry to the bathroom. 1 day demo, 1 day water-proof, 2 days tile - all while providing the proper time for dry-out and leak testing between steps. Lucas is a perfectionist, being critical on the most minor details -- which to someone that also strives for this level, but has no idea what they are looking for, was very much appreciated. Additionally, he has instilled this value in his team - that are true craftsman with their skill. Each step of the process was walked through, discussed, and made sure we understood the task, goal, and expectations. This is why I say Lucas/Soma Tile was a true partner in this project, as it wasn't a fun project -- it was an overwhelming stressful start where Soma Tile helped take some of the burden and concerns off our shoulders and work it through with their own expertise, experience, and dedication - ensuring every step was executed with precision. Soma Tile knows their craft - Lucas is a partner, his team are craftsman. Huge Thanks to Lucas, Jesus, and Miguel -- not to forget Jose who magically appeared on the last day to leave the place spotless.

Larry and Kyle are very professional and friendly, knowledgeable and fair. After reading reviews, I sent a request for information late one evening, and Larry answered within an hour. We set up and appointment for Larry and his son Kyle to give me an in-home estimate on replacing about 500 square feet of old carpeting in two bedrooms and their walk-in closets. Kyle walked me through various fiber and style choices and even helped me pick the color. Larry measured the rooms and gave me a quote for installation, moving furniture, and the removal of the old carpeting. The price was very reasonable, so Kyle prepared a contract for me, he checked with the manufacturer for stock status, and we picked a date for the installation. Since I live in a condo, I needed a Certificate of Insurance to present to the building management company so the work could be approved. Larry sent me one without delay. The installation itself was so smooth. The team, Pedro Jr. and Luis, arrived right on time, moved furniture with great care, took up the old carpeting and padding, and put down the new. The master bedroom is large enough to require seams in the carpeting, and they did a great job. When they were finished, they vacuumed thoroughly and even cleaned the building's common areas like the hallway and lobby to make sure there was no trace of carpet and padding crumbs. They were kind enough when replacing the furniture to allow me to measure carefully and they repositioned the furniture to my exact specifications. I'd been thinking about getting new carpeting for a couple of years now, and it was reading the fabulous reviews for Larry and Kyle and American Carpet that gave me the confidence to go ahead and do it. So if you live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and you are hesitating over getting new carpeting, take the plunge and call Larry and Kyle. You can be sure you will be treated with respect by honest and skilled professionals who stand by their quality product and their superb installation. A thunderous shout-out to Larry, Kyle, Pedro Jr., Luis, and everyone at American Carpet. My bedroom floors are glorious!
