We went with a complete overhaul of the building including many custom elements that we didn't even know existed. The team and ownership group was very hands on from the start, kept us informed and delivered on their promises. They have an actual office that we consulted at which is not always the case with other companies. We were able to see their work first hand before committing. With other companies in the past, you almost have to go off of their word, which can be risky, but this made us much more comfortable signing up with them. Remodeling and new construction is never easy but when the end result looks this good, it's definitely worth it! Give them a try, you won't regret it,

We had water issues before so we added drain tile, aluminum wall studs, water resistant drywall, ect. We upgraded to an energy star hvac system. We moved the laundry room. We put in four large egress windows. We added two legal to Evanston code bedrooms. We added a family room. We added a full bathroom. It came out beautifully!!!! We also have not had a drop of water this whole spring or summer. (Even through those huge storms!) Response time was fast. Explanations were thorough. And in regards to Natalie......I think that she was new to having projects done in her house. Seeing as she did not have a time table, yes, it is logical to finish roof construction and framing and other such projects. Ron was showing respect for his crew. Oh, and regarding Ron's appearance? He is a Mennonite carpenter. So.....yeah.....he has a pretty big beard.

Lifetime just completed my basement renovation December 2017. I am very pleased and plan on using…read morethem for more work around my house. Pros: Initial meeting was very professional. Marc provided an estimate the same day he reviewed the job. The team of workers were very professional as well. They typically showed up between 8:30-9:00 a.m. M-F and worked a full day to about 4:30 or 5:00 p.m. They really worked with me and around my schedule. Since I was usually working during the day the workers would call me during the day with any issues or questions and we would face time a lot during the design stage. Cons: Let me start by saying I am very pleased with my bathroom BUT it is not what I requested. For some reason there was some type of confusion as to what I wanted. I contracted for a full bathroom with bath tub, shower, and a linen closet. - The bathroom ended up getting designed with a walk in shower only. No tub. No linen closet. - Again it's lovely but not what I really wanted. I had major plumbing work that had to be completed. (Worst part of the project) The plumber worked maybe 4 or 5 days and left a big mess after each visit. I wasn't as concerned for the mess in the basement work area but they had to cut the walls on my main level to reach some pipes. They cut 3 separate walls on the main floor and left all kinds of mess for me to clean. Mud, dust etc. I would have appreciated if the plumber cleaned up after himself just like the carpenters and electrician did. They fixed the walls that were cut but only repainted the small portion of the wall where the cut out was made so of course the paint color does not really match the color that was there. I will have to end up re-painting the entire walls of each of those 3 rooms. I wasn't planning on doing that. I was told the job would take 7 weeks. It ended up taking 10 weeks. (not super bad) There were a few days (about 5) where I was told they would be there to work and then didn't show up for one reason or another. Also there was a little confusion about the flooring I wanted. I said I wanted either a stained floor to look like wood or some kind of tile that looked liked wood. - I ended up getting ceramic tile that looks like wood. - I ended up being charged extra for the tile I chose. I was never given a budget for the flooring and thought that my quote price would have included the flooring. I ended up being charged extra for my flooring choice which I didn't anticipate. I know things are never perfect when doing construction. The few cons were a bit annoying but not super major for me. Overall I think they did a great job and I plan on using them again.

He appeared extremely professional, came into the unit to give estimate with a clipboard. Asked me what I wanted and then it went all downhill. It was quite an extensive amount of work that needed to be done. He immediately starting questioning my funding in front of the seller. It got so bad I had to say, We can discuss your financial concerns, but the seller doesn't need to be privy to this level of my business. We leave out and he seems ok again, just wanted to be sure I could get the funding. I'm like no problem can you put the bid in tonight. He says ok. I call him the next morning because the bid hasn't been submitted and he is like Oh I was really busy yesterday. Ill TRY to get to it by the end of the day. Again he did not, After a week goes by. I ask do you want this job... He says to be honest I would have passed if I knew it was all this work that needed to be done. At that point I was done. We no longer need to communicate.
