I have been attempting to get Bo and Eli at Smart Turf to honor their one year installation warranty for the last two months with no success. If you are looking at Smart Turf, you should be aware they sub-contract the installation work and these sub-contractors have no time to warrant their installations. This is not what I was told when I agreed to move forward with Smart Turf after interviewing more than five companies. Smart Turf and their installers are driving new business only and do not have the business controls and management structure to take care of warranty work for existing customers. I have had six no-shows from their installers in the past four weeks. I have made several attempts to contact the Smart Turf Corp office and have not heard back from any executive of the company. I would not do business with Smart Turf based on my very poor experience.

I reached out to 4 companies and really liked our salesperson - Bo Vandergriff. He was very knowledgeable of their product. (Yes, they manufactured their own product that will be installed in your backyard.) I never felt pressured about setting my time/schedule because when I talk to him at first, our pool wasn't finished yet. He waited until it is right for us to install the turf. He sent me reminder emails to check up on the process. Their guys that installed it were very professional and polite. They were friendly while explaining to my husband the step-by-step of the process. We absolutely love our forever green space. We definitely recommend Smart Turf.

Clean borders, no seams, smooth and level. With the staircase and multiple contours that they had to contend with, it wasn't a typical typical dog run, but they cut the turf perfectly to the complex area and the project came out extremely clean. They even installed a french drain at no extra cost when they realized it would be necessary to preserve the integrity of the turf. They nicked an irrigation pipe which was completely reasonable and expected, given the criss-crossing network of pipes, but they were quick to own up to it and repair it with no questions asked. This team is just starting out in Austin in an effort to expand beyond their Las Vegas home base, which explains the low (but positive) number of ratings. Give them a chance; I promise you won't be disappointed.

It feels like the base underneath has shifted, making parts of the lawn soft and unstable to walk on. We've been trying to get this warranty issue resolved for more than six months. We were asked to send photos, which we did, and we were repeatedly told that someone would come out to fix the problem. Unfortunately, despite countless follow-up messages over several months, no one ever showed up and the issue was never resolved. We even ran into Zac by chance in person, hoping that would finally move things forward. He apologized and told us he would send someone the following week. Based on his promise, I rearranged my schedule and changed my plans to make sure I would be available. Unfortunately, once again, no one came. There wasn't even a phone call, text message, or courtesy notice to let us know they weren't coming. After that, they simply stopped responding again. The most disappointing part wasn't the defect itself--problems can happen with any project. The real issue was the complete lack of communication, accountability, and follow-through. When you pay for a professional installation, you expect the company to stand behind its work and honor its warranty. Unfortunately, that never happened. I cannot recommend US Turf based on my experience. If customer service and warranty support are important to you, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Had a bad experience with Good Neighbor Lawn Care. I'd read the rave reviews and decided to give…read morethem a shot. We have less than a quarter acre in a subdivision, but paid them for mulch, a grass cut, and lawn treatment (you get three treatments) to get rid of some problem areas. This first visit totaled over $500 (most of the cost going to the lawn treatment) The first service was amazing. The mulch looked great, I know it was hard work for those guys. Two weeks had passed and I wondered when they were coming back, they said that they were doing the rotation every three weeks. The next week comes, and I hadn't heard anything, so I inquired and they said I was on the schedule the next day. After that cut, I noticed that they didn't apply any lawn treatment, and they had missed large parts of my lawn. Travis apologized about missing the areas, but then said that the grass was too dry to apply the treatment. Understandable, but when were they going to tell me that? So I paid $48 and had to do the remaining edging and flat areas. Three weeks later, I get another cut and a lawn treatment. This time the service was spot on. ($48 all said for the cut. Lawn treatment was paid for up front) Three weeks later, due for my next cut, absolutely nothing from them. At this rate, I cut the lawn myself. I pay the $50 precisely so I DON'T have to worry and babysit I let it ride for another week until the Friday after Labor Day, I don't hear anything so I texted Travis. He said that they were closed over the labor day holiday for four days, and they were playing catchup, but they "had me for this week." At this point, it has been FOUR WEEKS with no correspondence. I'm in over $600 to this company, I've only had 2/3 lawn treatments completed, and one of the scheduled cuts I had to finish myself, and I guess I'm just out of the extra $100 or so for the services they didn't complete. Tons of other options for a lower price. I'd heard from another friend that had the service that a similar thing happened, but at that time it was a "family emergency" but no correspondence was left and they just stopped showing up. All that said, this company would be fantastic if they just kept their customers up to date and had the appropriate backoffice talent to schedule appointments, track services rendered and keep things moving.

We hired this crew to redo a neglected area around a large, mature live oak in our backyard -- it…read morewas just bare dirt and old, deteriorating plastic edging when we started. They pulled out the old edging and replaced it with metal edging, brought in fresh dirt and pea gravel, and installed an irrigation line to keep things watered going forward. We also had them plant two jasmine we had in pots, and they patched in new grass around the edges where the old digging had left bare patches. The end result looks great -- clean lines, good drainage, and the area around the tree finally looks intentional instead of neglected. The jasmine and grass patches have taken root well. Jaylin, the foreperson, was easy to work with and responsive to our input throughout the job. It was a small project but he treated it with care, especially working around the tree's root system.

Overall, good experience. There were very friendly and helpful. They responded to the emails…read morepromptly. They are very helpful with addressing concerns during and after installation. However, I do wish that they put more thought and paid more attention to details in the beginning. Some of these issues can be avoided. For example, I wish that they would've compacted the DG more carefully before laying down the turf, because there were high and low spots that had to be retamped later. Additionally, they could've prepared the site first before putting down the stones and pavers, so that the pavers are completely flat and in line. The attention to detail could've been better.
