This is a pretty nice bar and grill. The ambience is similar to a sports bar with a few TVs on the walls. The food was all right, a little heavy on the salt. Service was very good. For a quick bite to eat it was alright. Priced pretty fair. The bathrooms were really dirty which was disappointing.

I love MJ Grill. We were working at the poll and we ordered WINGS!!! they were delicious. We also ordered fries and drinks (sodas) we are working. The food was hot and delicious. Others at the site asked where did we get the food and it was a delight to reply MJ. The food is delicious and the service is amazing!!

Great neighborhood spot in the heart of Lake Carolina a planned community in NE Columbia. There downtown area is really nice filled with businesses and MJs is one of the best. Drive up in your car or golf cart and enjoy a great neighborhood pub. There are normally about 10-12 beers on tap with many more in bottles. The are normally specialty offers from the kitchen. The vibe is warm and welcoming. Pets are allowed on the outside patio. Candi is a wonderful bartender and the staff is very attentive.

My family and I ordered takeout dinner from this restaurant. We placed our order online and went to the restaurant to pick it up. They told us it would be ready within 15 minutes. It took a while longer than 15 minutes; however, we did enjoy the food. Food was satisfying and tasty. If you are looking for a lot of wings, you'll need to order more than 1 pound. Otherwise, the portions were OK. The cost was not too bad either.

Went there on a Friday evening, it was busy but the service was quick and the staff was very friendly to us. Cute family friendly sports bar type vibe that we will surely hit up again!

This was my first time here. The atmosphere is cozy + music. It has a bar feel but it's also kid friendly. We ordered the hot wings (fried)...they were really good! I wanted an order of wings to go but unfortunately they ran out. We also ordered two of the Rookies burgers with fries. The burgers were good. I wish the portion of fries was a tad bit larger for the size of the burger.

This visit was a bust. Called before arriving to check their hours as many establishments were closing early for New Year's Eve. Reassured that it was fine and we had time to dine. There is street parking that is shared with nearby businesses and within close proximity. During my visit it was dimly lit but they have a bar and many televisions if you'd like to catch up on sports while you dine. They do offer happy hours specials. I opted for the two taco Tuesday meal and selected fish and steak for my tacos. The shared onion rings were delicious and piping hot. My initial order came out very cold as though they'd put the food away and just took it out the fridge to make my order. The manager remade it and I ate the salty steak taco first. When I bit into the second taco, the consistency was weird. I opened it and inspected it and it was chicken chunks instead of the fish I'd asked for. At this point, I called it a loss and put my napkin over my plate and let the server know. When the server brought the bill to the table, I asked my dining companion if they'd discounted my food for the mistakes. In fact, it was a full charge. I was too through and reached for my water I had been sipping on only to touch the mouth of the cup and it was covered in something sticky like syrup and had lipstick on it. I was not wearing make up and this totally grossed me out because I'd been drinking this ish. Once again, I mentioned it and the manager offered a lame excuse about the items being washed in cold water. Bruh, everyone knows that the water temperature has to be at a certain degree for sanitation. He's probably equally frustrated and just told us he comp'd the entire check. At this point we decided that we'd cut our losses and keep it moving. However, I'm not myself when I'm hungry and it was disappointing how a simple order had so many missteps. When in the area this will not be a viable option for dining.

My daughter and I made a stop in here for the first time a few days ago and we enjoyed. Upon entering, there is a sign that states you have to wait to be seated. There is a high wall that separates the door from the dining area. They couldn't see us, so it was little minute before someone came up front to seat us. We both opted for burgers. I got the burger wings combo. So the beef is not seasoned and you are not given the option of how you want your burger cooked....or atleast is wasn't offered. My wings were hot honey and they were ok, but I doubt I will ever get those again. There are quite a few TVs in here so you can view any sport but I think football is their choice which is perfect for me. Our waiter was mysterious, to say the least! He was awesome but he reminded me of an actor. He would swoop in which seemed out of nowhere. He didn't give his name. He didn't bother us and he made sure we had what we needed and allowed us to eat. All in all I wasn't blown away by this place, but we may come back and try them again.

Stopped in while we were passing through. We both order burgers. I had a side salad and my husband sweet potato fries. The fries had sugar and cinnamon on them. Service was great and food came out fast.

The life of a restaurant is in its Facility, Service & Food presentation (taste)! Let's Go!!!! Facility: The first thing you notice about MJ's Grill is the motif. I was met by a very gracious hostess at about 8:00pm on a Thursday so the crowd was modest. Seating was quick at your table of choice. It's a little noisy but it's a bar and grill!! Somber hues cover the walls under a black ceiling. Stringed lights are draped against a back wall of wood panel, very nice. There are big screens on the walls and the customer base seems to be families and seniors. Oh, two sections on the floor, the bar is separated from the dining area but you can order from either. I chose the dining area. So far so good! Service: Servers are in black and white with shorts, others in Jeans. kinda reminds you of a HS school cheer leading squad. . Very upbeat and tasteful. Polite and attentive is the order of the day. I was very pleased with the appearance and attitude of the staff. In the first 5-10 minutes your drink order is taken, delivered and the food order is noted. About 20 minutes in and I was eating. My server was excellent! Burger did not come out initially as ordered but it wasn't critical. It was a bit dry, very little cheese and almost no sautéed onions as advertised. I never blame servers for the food, that cross has to be carried by the kitchen. It did come with an onion ring but sautéed onions would have added much needed moisture and flavor. The check was requested and I prefer it that way. I feel some kind a way when checks are summarily dropped before I'm officially coming in for a landing, so to speak. I have to return. I think that extra star would have been easier if the burger tasted better than what I can produce on a grill, and trust me I'm pretty good on a grill! Summery: Ok. MJ's Grill named for the proprietor's children is a good staple for Lake Carolina in Columbia SC. It's not on a main drag. Has a feel just above a local mom & pop bistro but worthy of a good word. It's in a community's commerce section. If you desire good food, a pleasant atmosphere and good service, check them out. There's is a big presence in a small community subdivision.

Upon arrival @ 2pm the large restaurant was fairly empty with the exception of only a few tables/booths. Was this a sign to turn around an abort the lunch mission? Thankful, the emptiness was not a sign of anything ominous. Lol. We were promptly seated at an intimate booth and served by the oh so pleasant Shannon. She was extremely sweet and informative, as this was the first time trying out Travinia for each of us. We started with calmari for the table. We were speechless by how delectable it was. The mix of assorted pickled peppers with in the perfectly fried tentacles and the marinara, also with a little heat was so good. We honestly consider a second order. A couple of us started with Blood-Orange lemon drops and decided to select options from the lunch menu. We each ordered one chicken pesto Sando and one chicken parm sub to swap and share. The third in the party went rogue and opted for spaghetti bolognese and a mini loaf of garlic bread. Once entrées were served the table was silent... a sign that everyone was pleased. lol. My choice was the chicken pesto and I swapped half for the chicken Parm sub. Both were good, however the chicken pesto by far was the front runner. The pesto was well-balanced with the right filling-to-bread ratio. It was simply just very tasty and I wish I didn't agree to share the other half. The chicken Parm was ok, however, there was too much bread to chicken parm ratio and it lacked a little flavor. Both sandwiches were accompanied by a side of pasta salad that was also enjoyed. We all left full and happy and I look forward to returning when I'm inevitably bullied into visiting SC yet again. Just A Note: After review of the menu, they can be considered pricey. Nonetheless I suggest giving them a try for lunch if you want to check them out and definitely opt for the chicken pesto sandwich.

Yelp did not fail; it wasn't a 5-star experience My food was burnt, not good at all. I had two burnt waffles. I know better. Never go to a chicken place and order a burger or vice versa (cultural phrasing). I was not at a place known for Breakfast or Brunch. Back to the review, the server acknowledged and then said, "They will prepare another." I think "another" meant the two waffles they returned, one. I said to the other server, "Where is the other one (waffle)?" His response wasn't, "Let me send your server over." NOPE, that's not what was said. He said, "Ask your server." I would have asked if he had returned. He didn't return; in fact, no one returned for a while. I shared my disappointment. Our server said, Oh, I thought only one was burnt. The waffle is a strong NO. Please don't order it, as it will be burned. The chicken was perfect. It was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. I enjoyed the chicken. My friend had the burger, and it looked good. It was on what I call Toast Bread. Here are the clues, 1. Everyone had salads or sandwiches. I watched them pass my table. 2. Reviews were about sandwiches. Lesson learned: watch what others are ordering I should have ordered a salad! The review would probably have been better. I don't think the service would have been better. Now the icing on the cake! He brings the bill, and it's over $50 for two people, and he said, I didn't charge for the extra syrup! Dude, I didn't use it as the waffle was burnt!

I visited the Gyromania Grill at 2558 Main Street in Elgin…read morefor lunch today (First Time) and I was totally enthralled & impressed with the restaurant, the food, and the staff. Having moved down to South Carolina six years ago, & given the hyper local establishments nearby my home that offer something I can only say somewhat passes for a gyro sandwich, Gyromania Grill far exceeded my expectations, and passion for an Authentic gyro, the kind I recall from up in New York yonder. From the moment I walked into the restaurant, and was greeted by Sheila, to receiving my Hummus appetizer with pita bread triangles, to receiving my Gyro pita sandwich, I couldn't believe how authentically tasty & delicious the food was. The food is prepared fresh on the spot, nothing laying around in heating hampers, from the french fries that are cut fresh daily, and fried when ordered, to the veggies that garnish the Gyro, to the freshly prepared tzatziki, my taste buds exploded with excitement at how delicious everything tasted. Honestly, I never expected to have that sensation of a well prepared Gyro the likes of what I recalled from NY, down here in S.C. but alas, I found *THE* spot for authentic, Great tasting Greek food. The restaurant itself is bright, open, VERY CLEAN! (I mean, Extreme Clean!) You can tell the employees take pride in presenting the establishment and the food they serve in the spotlight. Watching the staff behind the counter prepare the food, I noted how friendly and happy everyone was, no "fanny frowner /why am I here" faces, and compared to oh so many other food establishments I've been to, that impressed me a lot. I originally was going to order the lemon potatoes with my gyro, but they weren't prepared when I ordered, yet once they were, Sheila and her assistant surprised me by bringing by a little sample for me to taste, so next time I come in, I will absolutely enjoy them with my order, but the greek seasoned fries that came with my Gyro were trey`delicious just the same! The restaurant atmosphere is nice, I got there right before the lunch crowd, so it wasn't too crowded, I'm told sometimes the place can get really packed (no doubt, people enjoy eating delicious & tasty food, & Gyromania Grill delivers that!) The portions are decent, the prices very reasonable, the staff is friendly, and even if you have to drive a little out of the way to get there (as I did) it's well worth the effort. I Absolutely WILL BE Returning again in the very near future, and look forward to sharing the Gyromania Grill experience with folks I know will appreciate how authentic and well prepared this food is. ***** 5-STARS ***** For Cleanliness, Quality, Service & Value! Put Gyromania on your bucket list of places to visit for a great meal! You won't regret it. `JT
