Kitchen faucet installed in December is falling off! Does not respond to phone calls. Matt is a nice guy but not always reliable. He usually works hard to get the job done. read more

I've had Matt w/MJ Plumbing come out for several different jobs. He's checked the water filtering system, crawled hnder the house for a multiple of issues, replaced a garbage disposal and added an outdoor vent. I trust Matt's experience and expertise in all things plumbing. He responds quickly, is honest and upfront and always gives options. I recommend Matt with MJ Plumbing very highly. read more

Got ghosted completely, just like a few other reviewers. This is after setting up an appointment and texting information about the leak, with initial response back! I recommend Eco Plumbing, based in Napa, instead. They saved the day for us in a pinch. read more

Matt came over within the hour, fixed an almost clogged drain, and charged me fairly!

We had an appointment and MJ Plumbing completely ghosted us. We called, left a message and sent a text. Zero response. read more

Matt did a great job with fixing our tub issue. He was extremely professional and he went over and above to make sure the issue was fixed. On time, reasonably priced, professional, excellent service overall! I highly recommend and will definitely be reaching out to him again if needed. read more

Matt was great! Super responsive and diligent on our drain clog issue. Great resource to have local to town.

The least professional business I have dealt with. Yes, his rates are reasonable, but he doesn't arrive as promised. The last experience that I had with him was when my hot water heater broke. He came in the morning, took the broken valve, asked me for a check to cover the replacement valve and said I would have hot water by the end of the day. As well, he promised to keep me updated, but that never happened. I never got hot water and I never received the valve. But, he cashed the check. Would not recommend. read more

I was completely ghosted by MJ Plumbing!!! Matt put in a wall heater for us. It stopped working right away and while he did come back to fix it, it took many texts to get him to reply. Then about 11 months later, it stopped working again. I text him asking if was still under warranty. He replied right away saying it was and to leave a door unlocked so that he could assess the problem. That was the last I heard from him. He never went to fix it. After many attempted texts to get get him to fix it, I had to call someone else because there was no heat. The new company said Matt shoved the heater into place which tweaked the heater. They also said that it had many extra screws holding it into place. They told me not to use it until they could figure out what to do. Well they determined it was unsafe and unusable. So I had to buy a whole new heater and pay for another install from the new company. When I reached out to Matt asking him to make it right with me, I got more of the same, which was no reply. Nothing! Do NOT use this company. read more

Matt is epic. Service industry people just don't get any better. I had a non- emergency problem with my bathroom sink drain on the busiest day of the year. Matt assured me at 10:00AM that he would get to me today. He kept in touch and came , with my blessing, at 9:00PM. Fixed my sink with all upgraded parts, then made the mistake of asking my wife if there was anything more. She asked if he could make the bath shower head with more pressure. He did that improvement then fixed the kitchen sink faucet head that would not retract properly nor stay engaged tightly in the gooseneck. As he was saying goodbye at 10:40PM he insisted on tightening the screen door at the front door. CALL MATT. read more

Matt came to our rescue at short notice and got water back on to our house. He charged us a very reasonable rate. I like him and would recommend him to anyone. Thanks Matt. read more

Matt @ MJ Plumbing was on time, super thorough, reasonably priced and friendly to me and my dog. If you are in the Upper Valley and have plumbing needs, Matt is your guy! I believe he serves the whole Napa Valley. It turns out my dad hired him several years ago to replace our water heater. Today he met me to clear out a clogged pipe at grandma's house. Not only did he take care of that and thoroughly check all the lines, he replaced a leaky old toilet valve, flushed out the water heater and gave me some tips on dealing with our vintage septic system while he was at it. All in an hour! Check his website. Currently he's got a discount for emergency calls. read more

I contacted MJ Plumbing and had Matt out in January. Matt was very professional, diagnosed my water flow issue and determined that the water supply company would need to address. He promised to come out and install a 'water pressure regulator' later that week, but that in the meantime I should shut off water to the house whenever I'm not home. Unfortunately it took six weeks of reminder phone calls to get Matt back out, which is quite frustrating given the level of inconvenience associated with turning off the water, which is why I'm giving MJ 3 stars instead of five. read more

Had an emergency with a shutoff valve. Matt came on short notice on a Sunday and did a great job replacing that valve - he was very thorough and went the extra mile by readjusting a faucet and swapping hot/cold lines for us. read more

Matt has come out twice to save the day for us, most recently on Christmas Day in the evening. He is a true professional and so kind. We highly recommend Matt. read more

I called Matt and he fit me in the same day. I had to leave just as he arrived, and quickly showed him a few things (in addition to the problem I called him about) that I wanted looked at if he had time, as I paid for an hour. Apparently he had time to take care of everything, and charged me LESS than the quoted price. I would definitely call him again, should the need arise. read more

I called Matt for a clogged plumbing system in my house in Calistoga. Everything was slow to drain - bath, toilet, kitchen sink... Matt came out, diagnosed it as a clog in the main drain and took care of it in a flash. He was right on time for our appointment, even called 30 minutes ahead of time to say he was on his way, and charged very reasonable rates for his service. I'm happy to have found a reliable plumber and he will be my go to for all future services. read more

My toilet cracked in the earthquake. MJ Plumbing was referred to me and I set an appointment with Matt @ MJ Plumbing. He arrived, assessed the situation, cleaned up the water mess from the quake and scheduled a time to replace the damaged toilet with a new one. Matt arrived on the scheduled date at the time we agreed to and did the entire job in 20 minutes!!! {I would still be working on finding the correct screws and bolts, etc} Matt is a professional who gives you advice and does the work on time and at a reasonable price. He's friendly and easily understands what is necessary to complete the job. Go with MJ Plumbing. read more

The owner, Matt, came to our house to fix a few plumbing problems. Super great service and prices! A+++

Matt is awesome. I was able to get an appointment so fast and he showed up on time, fully prepared to fix my slow draining sinks. He was really thorough but efficient in fixing the problem and very reasonably priced especially for St. Helena. I plan to use him for any and all future plumbing needs. Polite, professional, and efficient. Exactly what one hopes for in a plumber. Matt got the job done, cleared a very troublesome drain, and couldn't have been more pleasant. Highly recommended. read more

Matt gave me an appointment the next dad and was on time. I told him about my toilet that was running, and that I had changed the flapper but still doesn't work right. He shortened the chain and adjusted it, which fixed the problem, but didn't charge me for it! I couldn't believe it! It is so refreshing to see that honest and giving people still exist. I'll pay it forward and make sure I hire him for every plumbing job from now on. His rates are also way more reasonable than most of the other ones I found on Yelp. read more

Matt started out fine. We discussed the job and went over pricing. I wrote out a check for $2500 as a deposit. Two weeks later, he said he needed more money---which was fine, as the job was expensive. We mailed a check and Matt claimed he did not get it. A week later we were again at the house and since he claimed not to have received the check, we wrote out another one, this time for $3500. Then we did a stupid thing and did not stop payment on the "missing" check (which had not, at that point, been cashed). A few days later, Matt texted me that the check had arrived "but I won't cash it, so you don't need to stop payment." Some two weeks later, Matt cashed the "missing" check without our permission, knowledge or without telling us. Then he went on "vacation" and refused to answer my texts or calls. Not only did he fraudulently cash a check (felony?), after saying he wouldn't but he also failed to properly complete the job---despite having all of our money and then some. The valve to the kitchen sink, which he replaced, leaks and we have to shut it off. The one station on our heater does not shut off and so now we have to shut the whole system down went we are not there otherwise the heater runs continuously. Some kind of wiring issue, according to Matt. But he didn't come and fix it when I tried to contact him. Once I contacted my attorney, Matt offered to come by but now I don't trust him. He clearly needs money desperately---that's why he illegally cashed the "missing" check. We will see him in court but please don't use this dishonest plumber. read more
