Hal Krause Plumbing - Hal replaced thirty years of rotted out guages, pipes and fittings

    Hal Krause Plumbing

My wife and I were looking for a lifelong plumber..and we found him with Hal!…read more We live in a very old house that has a ton of outdated plumbing and pipe issues. Hal came over, reviewed a list of items we wanted and came in significantly lower then the 4 other companies who provided the same estimates. Hal was also the only person who came up with a creative idea when it came to adding a dishwasher to our small kitchen(something we're definitely doing down the road). Hal arrived on time and right off the bat was not only professional, but very polite. He asked if/when he needed to move certain items to get access, and did an excellent job with cleanup. Hal spent most of the day working on 3 separate projects, which included a new bathtub setup, new outdoor faucets and a replacing a leaky valve and finished them all. He not only exceeded our expectations by the quality of work, but he also provided the bill at the end of the day(per our request), and it was exactly what he estimated. If you're looking for a honest, hard working plumber, Hal is your guy.

Hal was great to work with, was very reasonably priced and a wonderful guy. He arrived when he…read moresaid he would and when a particular pipe proved problematic, he worked and worked until he came up with a creative solution. The price was not increased and he didn't leave our family worried about our water situation. We've found our guy for all future projects and hope you will agree. Our problem was with the main water supply into our house from our well so it was really important that it was done perfectly.

    All In One Drain Cleaning

    All In One Drain Cleaning

Thursday morning I woke up to a small flood in my basement. The sewer pipe was blocked somewhere…read morebetween my house and the street. There only two plumber/sever companies I have ever dealt with in the past and I didn't want to use either of them because of past experiences. I wasn't really sure what to do so I jumped on Yelp and found All In One Drain Cleaning. I called and got a live person, Bill, who said that someone would be coming out my way in a few hours. Blake was the person who showed up, before noon. He tried snaking the pipe with a monster snake and had no luck. He then had to send a camera down the drain to see what was up. He told me how much it would cost and my eyes rolled into the back of my head but I had no choice and had to go with it. I am really shocked at how much it costs to send a camera down the pipe for 5 minutes. Yikes! Anyway, the camera revealed that the pipe was clogged solid so that was a good call. The next step was to blast the blockage with a water jet. Because of where my drain cleanout is located in the basement, there was no way to blast it without flooding the basement. This is where his boss, Bill, stepped in and a decision was made to dig up the front yard and install a cleanout pipe connected to the main pipe. The whole job took several hours and was finished around 7PM. It cost an arm, a leg, a lamppost, and my firstborn but at last, I was able to shower and poop without worrying that the goods would end up in the basement again. I guess certain services are just very expensive. I don't have any point of reference as to the price point because I wasn't able to "shop" around, although I am also not sure I would want to anyway. Bill and Blake a couple of very hard-working guys and they know their craft. On top of that, they are very personable and bicker like an old married couple. I would strongly recommend them to anyone who is dealing with serious plumbing or sewage problems.

Avoid this company at all costs. Easily the worst service I have ever experienced. Bill and Barbara…read morewere incredibly difficult to deal with and made the entire process painful from start to finish. Absolutely unprofessional and completely unacceptable service.

Boucher Energy Systems - Water Tank Leak

    Boucher Energy Systems

I had purchased a complete heating system including indirect water heater from Boucher Energy…read more They tried to sell me an annual service contract but it was too expensive. One day I noticed my water tank had a slow leak. I contacted Boucher Energy since the tank had a lifetime warranty. They were very rude over the phone commenting on how I did not have an annual service contract and had not purchased anything from them in years. They scheduled a technician to come out 2 weeks later and look at the leak. The day of the appointment it was snowing. There was only an inch of snow on the ground. Boucher called me to cancel my appointment due to the weather. Who doesn't work when there is only 1 inch of snow on the ground? At that point, the leak had gotten worse and I had to put several towels down daily to absorb the leaking water. I was told by Tina that the service manager would come out the following week to personally inspect the water tank. The day he was scheduled to arrive, he never showed up or called. The following day he calls me and says I can just send him pictures of the leak. What a joke. It's now 3 weeks since I first called them and the leak keeps getting worse. Now they tell me that all they needed are pictures of the leak. I send them the pictures and they order the replacement tank. When the tank comes in, they call me to schedule installation. A few days before they are scheduled to come out and replace the tank, the leak is so bad that I have to put 5 towels down every 3 hours to absorb the water. I email the service manager Monday morning to see if they can come out right away so the tank doesn't burst and flood my finished basement. Below is his email reply. Good Morning, Unfortunately, I do not have any availability until Friday, the date of the installation. Thank you Stephen Cammuso Service Manager Boucher Energy Systems88 Millville St. Mendon, MA 01756 Office (508)473-6648 Fax (508)634-3509 The technicians that finally came out on Friday and replaced my tank said that the corrosion was so severe and that they are surprised that the tank didn't let go and flood my basement. I would never ever use Boucher Energy again. They are the worst company I have ever had to deal with. Rude, greedy and unprofessional.

Installations are great but service is expensive. Last two service calls marked up prices of parts…read moreby a factor of 3 to 6. A $65 part was billed at nearly $400 and sales tax was charged on that amount. The first service charge (for a thermostat) was changed when I questioned it but the second was not. Service manager pretended that labor was included in parts but he charged sales tax on the whole amount which suggests not. Service call is billed at $165 if over 15 miles, so no excuse for extreme parts markup.
