We have shopped here for a good while and spent a good deal of money at this nursery. They have a good variety and have had good success with our plants. We purchased 3 shrubs (plant in ground) and 3 plants (container) to go around our pool. Within 30 days, despite our effort to help them, they started to brown and drop leaves. We continued to try and help them rally but they continued to die. At about 60 days we took them back to find they only offer 7 day return policy. No store credit, no refund--nothing. This was a total of $200 gone. We have never been told of their policy for returns, it's "on the receipt". All other places we have bought from have a return of 6-12 months. We were shocked and saddened to see their response -- which we were told is because we hand water, no irrigation system and therefore had zero chance of any form of return service. We will not return and hope this helps others not make the same mistake as us.

What I am finding is that in the summer time if you want pinion, Calloway's might just be your one and only option, because most places don't stock it until Fall. As long as I was here I had to look around. Calloways is not the low price provider in the DFW nursery market, but they are one of the better on quality in my opinion. They have a nice selection of plants as well as pots, yard tools, and more. Their employee Holden was really good and helpful. I definitely would shop here again. Review #2058

We hired Blooming Colors after our backyard got completely out of control. We had weeds everywhere,…read moredead plants, and honestly it just wasn't a place we even wanted to be anymore. I've worked with landscapers before and usually you get a lot of talk and not a lot of follow through. This was different. They gave us a few design options, walked us through everything, and actually communicated throughout the whole project which was huge for me. What really stood out was the quality of the work. We've paid for "premium" service in the past and never really felt like we got it. With Blooming Colors, you can tell they care. The details, the cleanup, the way everything came together, it just felt right. Now our backyard is a place we actually want to spend time in again, which I didn't think I'd say a few months ago. We'll be using them going forward for both our home and our rental properties here in Southlake. No question.

I walked into Blooming Colors Nursery on Saturday, ready to spend money and left Wednesday…read morewondering how $500 trees come with $0 worth of integrity (for context, similar Japanese maples run about $115 at Home Depot). Here's the story... Before purchasing, I made it crystal clear I needed HOA approval (as an "exception" because it's not on our approved landscaping list). On that lovely Saturday, the very helpful sales associate, Olivia, confidently assured me I'd get a full refund if the HOA didn't approve. No mention of store credit. No caveats. That promise (and my love for those two trees) was the only reason I agreed to move forward and let them hold the trees on my card. HOA said no. I came back expecting a simple resolution... and instead got a full rewrite of reality. Olivia wasn't there, and the staff immediately insisted there was "no way she would've said that." One employee chimed in, "I trained her myself," followed by questions about whether I "saw all the no-refund signs." The manager doubled down with, "I really don't believe she said that." All of this--despite having a witness that was standing next to me who heard the entire conversation. Let's call it what it was: not confusion... gaslighting. After things escalated, the owner came out, seemingly only after I mentioned disputing the charge. She agree to refund me--but not before trying to shush me, telling me to "be quiet or wait outside," and saying, "I'll refund your money and you can go buy your trees elsewhere." Nothing says "family business values" quite like dismissing a paying customer on the way out. The trees were beautiful, no doubt--but their integrity and respect wilted faster than a Texas agave in August. If you shop here, get everything in writing... because their word clearly doesn't take root. Better yet, don't.

(BEWARE OF M J Farm and Nursery )…read more Be very careful if you buy a plant from here. I purchased what I thought was a Carolina Jasmin vine. After a few months of growth, after the plant filled out the trellis on my house I began wondering why it wasn't producing any yellow flowers. Then I noticed green beans scattered through out the plant. When I asked the person at MJ Nursery to replace the plant he said that what I bought ( for about $55.00 ) was a weed found throughout the nursery ant that I had killed the Carolina Jasmin. He claimed they sell healthy plants and that all sells are final. So I guess that means I'm great at growing green beans and awful at growing Carolina Jasmin.

Love Mike's Garden Center!…read more Have been a customer of Mike's for many years and stopped by today to pick up a plant gift for a friend and found that they have expanded their gift department. I never noticed as I was always on a mission to get in and out. So many thoughtful items to choose from, who would have thought this? Picked up some Red Mandeville's for a few planter pots in the back yard and a Mexican Bird of paradise and they were on sale. Yea! Anyways stop buying your plants from the big box stores and spend your landscape lawn and plant care money here.

We ended up getting one fig tree and one plum tree. the people working there are very helpful and actually helped me save money. i was going to ask them to delivery and plant it at my house, but they told me that since the fruit trees i was buying were on the smaller side, i would simply just put it into my suv and save on the delivery fee. while planting was a pain in the ass, it didn't take too long to plant the two trees. They also recommended that i get some root growth liquid chemicals to help the trees grow. they typically have sales going on. For the fruit trees, it was buy one get another one 40% off. i'm not sure if other nurseries are offering sales, but it was a nice offer Mike was doing. Granted, i don't normally buy trees, i'm not sure if i overpaid for the fruit frees. I think the fig tree was 30 bucks and the plum tree for 40 bucks. This is a note regarding my experience with the owner of the location when she sent a private…read moremessage and invited us to come back in spring when their inventory is larger as well as to request that I remove a photo that I had placed on the original review. The photo wasn't of anything bad or wrong, it was not misleading or a misrepresentation, it was a legitimate photo of the outside area of the location that she says is shared with a landscaping company, tho what landscape company I do not know. The reasoning stated to me was that the landscaping company didn't want the photo of their area published. The photo was of the locations surroundings just as any Google maps search would provide, so it's not anything that can't be seen anyway. It showed their "shared space" which being "shared" still makes it part of this businesses space which serves as sort of a parking area. The rating on this review is based on the point of contact by the owner to manipulate the initial review by requesting removal of a photo that is a true representation of what is surrounding the business, part of their "shared space", this removes what is also a visual to allow others to find this out of the way place that is not on any main road. I don't feel it is appropriate for a business to private message a Yelp member for the sole purpose of manipulating what is on the review.

Then I started going here. The difference is unbelievable. Vegetables taste like they used to. Farm grown stuff is just so much better than that hot house, multi vine grown crap you get at the stores. Greens has such a great selection. Produce, fruit, lots of other items, like salsa's, sauces, chips, and tons of other things, and all of it has been really good stuff. Yes, prices are a little higher, but to me it's worth it. Other than the always great tomato's, they always have avocado's that are ready to go, not bright green ones you have to sit on the counter for a week waiting for them to get ripe. They also have a lot of premade stuff, like queso, chicken and potato salads, a reach in fridge full of stuff. They also have a good selection of plants for sale. Just about any produce item, and many fruits, are all here and all quality stuff. Once you start getting produce from here, you'll never buy any mass produced crap from the other stores again.
