I am very disappointed in the flowers I bought at The Flower Ranch this year. I have always bought my Zinnias from The Flower Ranch. This year I noticed that they looked smaller and a little leggy but I bought them anyway. I shouldn't have. They have not held up. They are small, leggy and sickly. They are now full of aphids. I'm pulling them up and will buy Marigolds from somewhere else in the fall. I used to make it a point to drive over from Denton to shop here. No more. read more

It's been a year so it's time for an update. First of all, all of my perennials that I bought last year have help up beautifully and returned this spring! It's the best. Jon and I went back to the flower ranch to pick up a bunch of new flowers for this year to add to our garden beds. When you walk in there are huge wooden shelves to put your goodies on (they'll assign you a number). Jon and I spent most of our time in the perennial section looking for plants that do well in shade since our yard has so many trees, but we enjoyed browsing the colorful annuals as well, and we got a couple trays of begonias. The staff is helpful and the prices are what you'd expect. I love how the flowers are displayed, it's a very inviting atmosphere. One day when I have more money I'd love to buy some of their pre-arranged pots of flowers, they're full of variety and so gorgeous -- just too costly. read more

This has been my "go to" for years. The team is so knowledgeable, plants SO healthy, and the assistance to never carry a flat of flowers is a treat. Every year they supply my bedding plants, potted arrangements and even do a custom arrangement or two (shhh, don't tell my husband). It's part of my planting paradise. read more

I'm gonna have to call this place a MAJOR LIFE HACK! The staff is so knowledgeable about the plants they are carrying and so helpful! Walked in there with the kiddos and they asked what we needed and started a shelf for us. Makes it so much easier then going up and down the isles with a stroller. I post a review earlier and confirming that since the new owners took over the service has gotten worse. I was there yesterday and the selection of plants is even not as good as it was with previous owners. They have a lot of people "working" but I still had to ask for assistance 3 times ... 3rd time I paid for my plants and left. Their prices are just not even good. I shopped at several other local nurseries and spent a good amount of money .... but also had good service and selection of plants. Would love to see them succeed but that was my last time there. This, my friends, is how it's done! We entered as Flower Ranch rookies. The owner is a hoot, and he explained to us how the plants are arranged, what can be mixed, what can't, etc. Upon making a selection, an employee appears and takes it from you, storing it in a numbered bin near the registers so you can continue shopping at your leisure. The owner checked on us several times to see if we had questions. He was also very knowledgeable about each of the plants we asked about - sun & water requirements and the like. The plants were about as healthy as they could be. We're used to having to pick through plant beds to remove sickly looking plants from a group at the big box stores. Not here. There wasn't a sickly plant in sight. We got ours home, transplanted into their proper places, and they are thriving. This is our nursery. Service and selection are bar none! read more

I have shopped at Flower Ranch for years and years. They knew me, their plants were strong, healthy and beautiful. The prices per flat were extremely reasonable. I was so sad to hear the Pipes family had sold the business a few months ago. But they promised things would be the same, same employees, selection, etc. I'm afraid that has not been the case. I went today for the first time since the change in ownership. I was greeted when I came in, but after that it was difficult to find anyone to help me. There are no carts, so customers depend on the staff to carry things to a staging area to be checked out. I was unable to get help to carry plants, both to the staging area and to the car. The prices have increased a good bit and the selection is good, but not as wide a variety as before. A sign at the front counter read, "Do NOT set plants on my counter....". As a long time shopper, I knew this system so that was not a problem, but to me the sign's wording was not friendly. I had to wait to get someone to check me out. I finally carried my purchases to the car and then someone raced out to help. New owners: Please, please fix your customer service issues. I don't know if I'll be back. read more

All I can say is WOW!! This place is amazing! I'm planting my flower garden in phases and this week I'm doing the accent pots near the pool (hopefully, I'll be doing the in-ground surrounding section next week). Anyway, for these pots I mainly wanted annuals that I can easily replace so I can keep the color going through fall (with 2 or 3 different plantings through the seasons). I visited one of the local big-box home improvement stores last week for herbs and flowers for a different section of the yard (thanks for the coupons, btw) and, quite frankly, was too bored with them to go back again this week. I've seen ads for the Flower Ranch and have no idea why I've never been there, but my goodness! What a place! It's absolutely overwhelming what a selection they have. Now I don't know if they carry Texas natives, but I did see a lot of full sun and drought tolerant plants. I had to force myself to focus on why I was there the day I went so I could leave with the plants for my project, otherwise I think I'd still be there. So many things to choose from! And it's so overwhelmingly colorful in there. The only thing I found a bit difficult with shopping here is that they don't have any carts to push your plants around in. I like to group things on a cart and push them around while I'm shopping so I can see how things will look together. The Flower Ranch has plastic trays you can use and you carry the plants around on those. Once your tray is full, there are numbered shelves at the front of the store where you place your tray for safe-keeping while you go shopping for more. Actually 'you' don't have to carry the trays around. They have lots of people there to help you with that. I probably didn't take advantage of that as much as I could have. Now I went early afternoon on Monday and their system worked fine but I'm having a little trouble envisioning how the 'numbered shelf' system works on a Saturday (I think there were less than 30 numbered shelves that I saw). Bottom line - if you haven't checked this place out, stop in and take a look - at least for future reference. read more

Update today.....I heard from a representative from the Flower Ranch after my review. I sent requested photos of all the flowers in my beds and pots for them to access the problem. They determined that I have not been watering my plants and flowers and they do not have a problem. They offered for me to bring the big baskets in for a 50% discount on redoing them again. This place is really a great place to visit and will beautify your home inside and out. If you have not been to The Flower Ranch in Keller you blooming need to go, the roses will knock you out. There are beautiful hanging plants everywhere, with a designated staff member creating more. The best variety of hanging plants we've seen in one location and the prices are great. The folks at the Flower Ranch were very helpful and accommodating. I am new to Texas gardening and they answered all my questions and helped me only buy the plants I needed to start in early spring. My three year old was with me and he loved walking around and looking at all the plants. They were very kind to him and he also loved their doggies. So sweet! They also helped walk my purchases out to the car and loaded them in for me, even putting paper down in the back to prevent dirt in the Car. Excellent service! We are definitely loyal customers now. I moved here almost two years ago and found this gem of a nursery. It was a five star place in my book, and I don't give five stars easily. I loved shopping here. They had fantastic customer service, a gorgeous selection, great prices and it was a delight to visit. They had hours on the weekend and early evenings as well. I've driven by this nursery several times to shop on the weekends, since I work during the week. I found that they no longer are open on Saturday afternoons. On the website, I now see that they are only open till 4 on weekdays and no longer open on weekends. Since I have a mon - fri work schedule this pretty much assures I'll cannot come back. Sad. I also have a gift card with a healthy amount of funds on it that will be difficult to impossible to use because of the hours. I heard this place was sold to a new owner earlier this year. I'd love to be a customer, but these new limited business hours don't work for retail customers. Are you planning to go wholesale only? It doesn't seem very retail friendly anymore. read more

Great selection of flowers. Full service all the way to the car by the employees. They carry all the plants for u and help u to get into the vehicle. 5 star service. It's a little pricey though for everything so be prepared to pay for he great service and great selection. I didn't find any vege seeds or plant seeds and I did ask for some. This is not the place to buy any seeds. Lots of healthy plants and gorgeous flowering trays and rows of plants to suit ur needs. I bought some vegetables and was happy with the selection.
