The trousers ripped in the crotch and in the seat when I was getting in the car at the end of my wedding night. When I went back they claimed that they couldn't do anything but sell me a replacement pair of trousers. They also put it on the manufacturers of the suit and the type of material that was used. I'm very disappointed in the quality of the material and that this has happened. If I would've know this then I would've just rented instead of investing my money into a suit that was going to get only one use. Be cautious when dealing with Modern Man.

The long, dramatic review: I just wanted to cry tears of joy. My dad called to tell me that he is absolutely THRILLED with his new, custom trousers and shirt, and that I could not have given him a better Father's Day present. Why did this touch me so? My dad is a man who lovingly and gracefully raised three girls with all of the body issues that accompany that endeavor. He has been having body issues of his own for the last 3 years. Complaining of a stomach ache, he ended up having emergency appendix removal, appendix exploded on the table, 9" of intestines removed and a month in the hospital. He has not really been the same since. His body dramatically changed shape and none of his clothes fit right after that month. Dad was always a dapper dresser, with the kind of attention to the details that made my mom smile and say he would have made a great hair dresser. I do not think I have ever EVER seen my dad in a t-shirt or in jeans. He is snappy, and he likes to look snappy. He did not believe that the clothes would fit any better than what he could get from a men's store. Holly comes to your home, does about 100 measurements, talks with you while you choose specific fabrics from her many samples that you can touch and feel. You also choose specific design details for your shirt, trousers, or jacket. She arrives at your home later with the goods. I have a friend who looks like a model and is on the "call" list for By George For Men and Stag. He loves to look sharp and that can be very spendy. He now has several custom shirts, trousers, and even a jacket from J. Hilburn that make him look like a million bucks without breaking the bank. Once they have your measurements in the system, friends and family have a very easy job buying you the perfectly fitted shirt or trousers... and my dad even admitted that it is not anything at all like the clothing at a men's store, made for the masses. He went from, "nothing will ever fit quite right" to, "can you call Holly and order another shirt?"

She offered to spot clean it and made it worse. She offered to give me money to get it cleaned and I agreed. She gave me the money from her own wallet and apologized for getting it dirty. Another woman came and grabbed the doll from my hand and started walking towards the back of the store, at first I thought she was just grabbing it to look at what damage was done and I when I called her she ignored me kept walking towards the back. So I followed her to the back of the store and asked her to give me back my doll and she tells me NO! And that because they gave me money the doll was theirs. I explained to her that no, this is my doll & since you guys got it dirty, the other woman was paying for me to get it cleaned since it was their fault it got dirty. She refused to give me back my doll even after I tried to grab it back from her. The other woman who gave me the money had to tell her to give me back the doll and that it was okay and she apologized to me. I am absolutely appalled at what just happened I left in tears. When I had my work done, her website wasn't functioning at the time, but she was still very much in business. I gather that she mostly works by word of mouth, so please consider this to be my whole-hearted recommendation for her services. The suit she tailored needed a fair amount of work done, and now, it looks like a professionally bespoke suit. Speaking of bespoke suits, that's what she primarily does these days. And while I was there, I saw a few examples of her work - stunning handwork, fantastic detail. I'm saving my pennies for a bespoke suit from Francesca.

Francesca is a European Master Tailor. She did the alterations for my wedding dress and my…read morehusband's suit. My dress was a sheath design, with a slightly retro feel. The bridal shop told me it just needed a few alterations, but I wanted it to fit like a glove, so I called Francesca. It turned out, that for the fit to be perfect, my dress needed to be practically taken apart and resewn. She is amazingly detail oriented, down to removing her lipstick before coming anywhere near my dress and taking her sewing machines apart and hand cleaning them before working on my dress to keep it spotless. The fit of the dress was incredible when she was finished. Not a flaw anywhere that I could see. She also reworked my husband's Ralph Lauren Black label suit that the "tailor" at Ralph Lauren had completely massacred, as well as another Zegna suit of his that the alterations department at Nieman Marcus had butchered. Both fit him incredibly when she was finished. She completed my dress in a week, and both of my husband's suits in just under a week. She is a little pricey. Be sure to get an estimate from her before she starts work to avoid sticker shock, but in my opinion, she's completely worth it.

I would AVOID Ross Bennett as, in my opinion, 1) they are unorganized, losing measurements and…read moredetails ordered 2) the people they hire to cut do a lousy job. They are not worth the money they charge. I had two suits ordered and it took me OVER A YEAR to finally get them close to fitting correctly. For the around $4500 I spent, I received two poorly fitting suits with details I had ordered, missed. Understand that Ross Bennett does not cut the suits. He takes measurements in his poorly lit office, writes down the details requested, and outsources the cutting. For my suits, the first round was so poorly cut they had to start from scratch. When they remade the suits... months later, he used the wrong measurements. Finally a year later, after I had to threaten court action, his third round of suits was at least wearable. But, the leg openings were still wrong and unbelievably the two jackets had different measurements, one fitting better than the other. Plus details like no belt loops and thread colors were wrong. Shows how disorganized they are without a proper method to record order details. I gave up and accepted I'll never get the two suits I expected. Instead received disappointing service and quality... and you may as well.
