This is one of my most favorite Persian food restaurant here in Temecula, I have eaten in other Persian restaurant but nothing really compares to this place. It is small and just holds a few tables and chairs but man, the food is just awesome! You can taste the freshness of the veggies/salad, the meats are tender and well seasoned, to top it all off, the basmati rice is just a perfect side to it. I went to Mitras, just for a gyro wrap based on reviews from Yelp. The wrap itself was broken in 2 places the length of the wrap. Almost as bad a hard shell taco. While The flavor of the meat was pretty good, there was not as much meat in the wrap as I expected to receive. So much lettuce was used as filler. The tzatziki sauce had good flavor, though the extra side I requested was smaller than I hoped. If you request extra, then be sure to specify a larger side or double the regular size given. read more

I'm gonna be honest, when I see Persian restaurants that have deli food and burgers too I wonder how good they can be. This Persian girl trusted her instincts and at first ordered Shish Kabob until I eyeballed the hand written sign that said "Ghormeh Sabzi". I couldn't believe my eyes...my dream Persian Stew available at this walk up counter? I quickly switched my order and prayed it would be good. Upon the first bite I was in Heaven and after DEVOURING it I approached the owner and asked how long they had been open so I could SLAP MYSELF that I hadn't been here sooner. 3 years it took me to discover it. Wasn't quite sure what to expect because I had a taste for breakfast - which they serve all day. NOT BAD AT ALL - and their prices are right! This is one of our favorite little hidden gems. My husband always gets the chicken salad sandwich and I always get the $3.99 kabob plate, which has a kabob, salad and the best rice ever! Went here for lunch yesterday. Got the Chicken Kabob lunch special to go. Good deal, nice price $3.99. Kabob was good. Ground Chicken seems a lil different, but that's cool. Made me a lil sad when I got back to work and realized rice and salad were plain. Came with Sumac, but that didn't really add much flavor. Had to find my own dressing. I've been a long time customer to Mitra's I usually have loved them their food is actually very delicious and I'm so disappointed to say my family will no longer be a customer to them, as business owner myself my customers happiness always come first that's the best kind of business to have a few days ago I called in my order (a special order I tweak a few things to certain item on the menu for my diet) he told me it would be ready in 20 min I was coming from Temecula so with traffic it took me 27 min to get there I showed up and he told me he sold my food because I was late lol but that he could remake it , this was odd as my order is so specific I don't see how someone with in 7 min of it being made thought this same order up but what ever.. since I had to be to school in 15 min I told him I'm sorry I don't have time for you to remake it I have to go to school he didn't not apologize he just said "ok" my family and I were out and about today running errands and I didn't have a meal prep on me so we decided to go to Mitra's my order was made wrong and I couldn't eat it due to my diet.. I was then told ok well I'm not going to remake it because it was hard to make but I'll give you your money back I said ok.. he snatched the food out my hand and threw it away he was obviously irritated and he gave me back $6 which was less than he actually owed me and again didn't apologize for the inconvenience. Smoothies are great. Breakfast mediocre. Delivery personnel rude and angry that I didn't hear his knocking at first. I have a three year old and we just moved into our new home. I was in the living room and the front door is about 6 ft away. We weren't being loud but we did have our sliding glass door open and it was semi loud outside. Any long story short I didn't hear his knock so he called and said no one was answering. I said we are home. He came back from his car and started being rude and saying he knocked a lot and no one came to the door. Why didn't we come to the door? And etc. the. Sits our stuff on the floor whole huffing and puffing. Maybe he was having a bad day. I don't know. Horrible customer service. The manager/owner is ridiculously rude! Don't waste your money at this place. They sent the delivery driver with only $3 in change which meant I had to give him quarters and dimes because I didn't have any smaller bill. The wait was over one hour for delivery. Food wasn't very warm. The amount of hummus that comes with your meal is less than 2 tablespoons. What a joke! read more

So Freakin Good!! Always fresh. Always affordable.... The Kabob Special is only 3.99 and it is available all day ( I usually get this ). Personally my favorite is the chicken with bones meal its a whole cornish game hen perfectly seasoned with a large serving of rice and salad, I always get the greek dressing. I take everyone to this place. Just one tip for those picking up food for take out. Call ahead to place your order then head in. Ex employee here. I beg you to read this review. The owner is a complete jerk. He yells at everyone who isn't happy. The meats are microwaved for the most part and the food handling is atrocious! There is so much cross contamination that I'm surprised people aren't sick from the foods we served here. I have been ordered in several occasions to scrape off mold from the top layer of dressings, cheeses, and other old foods. There is rat poop everywhere! The bugs in here end up on our food storages and the boss does not care. This place is disgusting. I quit due to these circumstances. Not only bad food, but this place illegally does not give staff breaks, does not do a schedule in advance. Literally gives your next work day the night you leave. It's ridiculous. I live 2 blocks away from Mitra's Cafe. I eat here at least once a week. The service is always prompt and friendly. The restaurant is clean with a pleasant homey atmosphere. I've tried various items on the menu and everything is mouth watering GOOD. I especially love the Persian food. The cheeseburger is the best I've ever had. Eat here. I order from Mitra's or its sister cafe La Petite on a regular basis. I either order it for lunch at work or dinner at home with the family at least 3 times a week. This week I actually had it 5 times. I enjoy the fact they have free delivery for over $15, you don't find that anywhere anymore. Their food is delicious, and portions are great. We always have sandwiches, salads, or soup and its wonderful. My only complaint would be getting the orders correct. I have only called to complain once about this, but usually something comes wrong at least once a week. They will mess up on a sandwich order or give us too many soups. Being charged extra for things is usually the only things that makes us unhappy. Sandwiches I understand are hard to keep up all the changes and different ways they can be made, but I wish this was more consistent, especially ordering at home with picky children. The staff is always polite though, and we would never stop ordering from them. I would suggest a frequent diner program for people like us! :) And I was unaware of the cash discount I read in a previous review or we would have been taking advantage of it. read more
