had 2 consults for the exact same upper eyelid surgery. both visits he changed his tune as it pertained to anesthesia. At the first meeting I asked if he used prophepol and he said yes. He then went onto say , the anesthesia nurse would place something in my mouth to open my airway. At first I didn't think this was strange since I've had prophepol before many times for colonoscopies and upper endoscopies. the next day I was recapping my notes I had taken and I know this isnot done for prophepol sedation. My 2 nd consult 4 months later , Dr.Kapadia says , he prefers to use local sedation with lidocaine injections in the eyelids where you are totally awake but do dot feel pain. He said he prefers this method bc he can ask the patient to open their eyes so he can see where to stitch and therefore create the eyelid crease. I said wow! this is totally different than what my first meeting covered. I said I would think about it however, I would probably prefer prophepol sedation . Dr.Kapadia then replied, well we can adjust the dose so you can sit up and open your eyes. I then emailed Dr.Kapadia 2 weeks after my 2 nd visit asking him if he provides the name of the anesthesia in writing . He has you sign a fee page stating if the patient is having anesthesia which is one price and another legal document if you choose to be awake with local anesthetic. The reason wanted this inserted in his document he wants you to sign is because , general anesthesia is riskier and other shorter acting anesthesia like Versed doesn't make me feel well afterwards. Prophepol agrees with me the best and is a lesser risk than general anesthesia. in fact, Dr.Kapadia should be thankful that a patient is divulging this info about what their experience with various types of anesthesia ! in fact it is less of a risk for him! Dr.Kapdaia responded to my email, by saying I didn't trust him and he could use general anesthesia or in fact any any anesthesia he feels the patient responds to. That's not how it's supposed to work! You don't wait until the patient is ready for surgery and guess or try different methods! Dr. Kapadia can't be trusted !My guess is when anesthesia is used, he does whatever he wants bc, the patient will never know! I had asked if when the patient is prepped for surgery does the anesthesia nurse review the risks and what to expect when being administered anesthesia drug ,prophepol showing them the drug and how it is administered. Dr.Kapadia's response was " you don't trust me and we won't put anything we are administering in writing , nor will we show you what we are administering. stay away ! it's an expensive surgery Buyer beware! read more

Ptosis on left eye was a failure and the redo made it worse. Dr Kapadia tried to make excuses for what went wrong. I had to see another doctor to try to fix my still droopy eye lid and recuperating now from another redo. 3 tries, pathetic, horrible and sad outcome. 1 year ago a fraudulent spa injected a substance under my eyes and I had an allergic reaction because the substance was not intended to be injected and they created horrible bags. I contacted several specialists and was referred to Dr. Kapadia, known as the best in Massachusetts. 1 year ago Dr. Kapadia said that he couldn't do anything until 6 months passed, I was frustrated, because I felt very ugly, but I trusted him. And it was the best thing I've ever done. I went back almost 1 year later and we scheduled the surgery, from the first appointment he was extremely honest with me about my expectations and realities. I had all the security and professionalism throughout the process, before, during and after. I would also like to talk about the team (they are extremely professional, kind, affectionate), many I don't remember the name but some that I remember I want to mention. Donna: the person who gave me all the necessary documentation for the surgery, such as payment, medical examination, medications, instructions, etc. Super attentive and dedicated, super available for all my questions. Jessica: She was responsible for my appointments, she even called me every day after the surgery to see if I was feeling well and if I needed anything, reminding me of details necessary for healing, if I was doing the compresses, all well detailed. This guy is amazing! Had my tear troughs done elsewhere and looked like a swollen blowfish. He helped me fix the under-eye area and even filled the upper lid which is a very advanced technique. What sets him apart is his technique which is very gentle. He uses AccuVein which helps visualized veins to avoid bruising. The tear trough injections were virtually painless with minimal swelling, no bruising at all. I was able to meet my friends for dinner one day later without them noticing I had anything done. Because the eye area are very challenging to treat, it makes sense to go to an oculoplastic surgeon. Check out his work on Instagram, it speaks for itself. His prices are reasonable compared to other less talented injectors with multiple vial discounts. He's very conservative and does not recommend more than what you need. He spent 10 minutes at the most with me He said no to everything I asked and I felt rushed out. Went to this guy a couple years ago for a eyebrow lift with Botox. I am 25 years old. He charged me 500$. I had no idea what the price should have been. After this experience here 2x I decide to check other places out b/c this was very expensive. I went to a place in Boston and 2 places in Newton. All 3 places didn't go over 200$ for the same procedure. This man is not honest and will TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU! The reviews of him on realself.com are FAKE. I know that a common opening line for these reviews is that "I never post a bad review but..." however this is definitely true for myself. Working two jobs, caring for a sick family member and being a performer leaves little time to actually pen a review even in a dissatisfactory experience. However, today I felt particularly compelled. First off let me say that I do not have dysmorphia, nor do I have unrealistic expectations regarding cosmetic procedures. When you make the choice to put a needle in your face, there may be consequences and you take the good with the bad. I have also been receiving injectables and laser treatments for years now and know the realistic outcomes one should expect. After extensive research I chose to take a day off of work and drive an hour out of my way to see Dr. Kapadia because his work appeared to be impeccable and his concentration was in the ocular area. I would like to believe perhaps that I caught him on an off day, but I may be being too diplomatic. From the moment he entered the room, even his greeting was on autopilot and felt disconnected. This is not uncommon with some doctors. They see countless people every day, and I don't expect Mr. Rogers every time. However, he proceeded to analyze me for a total of 10 seconds (and that is generous) before hastily deciding I didn't need the area treated. I countered that I understood my eyes were not in egregious shape but that there were minor areas that were in obvious need of correction. I barely finished the sentence before he proceeded to talk over me. This became a pattern over the next 4 minutes. I tried to explain the history of why I'm here and that I didn't expect perfect results. I remained steady despite being flabbergasted by his tone, dismissiveness, and the complete unwillingness to hear me. Before I could finish saying that I had realistic expectations he exasperatingly stated "I mean I'll do it if you want me to, but it won't do a thing." I was honestly stunned by the tone. I took the whole thing in, and I thanked him for seeing me. I chose not to confront the behavior in that moment because it isn't in my nature to make a scene, or take away time from other patients. While driving home the whole experience left me so uneasy that I called back to speak with the office manager. She was lovely and relayed the concern to Dr. Kapadia who returned my call a few minutes later. He offered an apology for how I felt about the situation and conveyed that he often times has a "curt" demeanor. While self-recognition is important, many reviews I am now reading suggest that this is actually not an isolated incident, behaviorally speaking. Recognition is only important if it accompanies a willingness to change the behavior, which seems to have fallen short. He allowed me to speak to the experience I had with him and to why I felt this treatment was appropriate for me. However his responses seemed less like genuine contrition and more like an attempt to alleviate my reaction. He still maintained, based off of his minute examination, that he could not treat my situation. I maintained that it was very disappointing given the simplicity of the problem and his extensive background. But I also said that I do not want anyone putting a needle under my eye if they don't have faith in what they are doing, or if they simply want to placate then rush me out of the room. So we ended the call. Here's my bottom line. Skill and education are only part of the equation. Hearing and communicating with your patient is also an essential part of the job. If that had happened, then this review would not exist even if I hadn't gotten my desired outcome. But I fear that my brief encounter today might be only the tip of the iceberg. Furthermore while he is capable of articulating an apology, it didn't truly feel like he had any real regret or remorse regarding the situation. And it's this behavior that I feel provides a tangible risk to some of the procedures he may perform. read more

I visited Dr. Kapadia over a year and half ago to research blepharoplasty on my lower eyelids and during that visit he suggested to me to do all four lids, to get it over with all at once, instead of coming back to finish the job later. He demonstrated what the difference could look like with my top lids, which I knew where heavy, but thought I could get by with just the lower lids. I left the office that day and said I would have to think it over. As the days turned into months, the months into one year, I kept looking in the mirror, and then turning 60 in a few months, I said "Why the hell not?" It was my little "60 tweek".... super happy with the results after less then two weeks post surgery. I took one week off from work and was back the next week. (Arnica, no ibuprofen related products, fresh pineapple.) The result was exactly as I had hoped--refreshed but not extreme. He listened to what I was hoping to achieve, and he made it happen with far less pain or discomfort than I could have imagined. Dr. Kapadia is the best. I recently went for a consultation about having some excess fat removed from my under-eye area that was the result of a "botched" lower bleph that I had done some years ago by a prominent plastic surgeon at Emerson Hospital in Concord. After my consultation, I made the decision it was not worth going into the procedure as the excess fat is really not that noticeable, and Dr. Kapadia told me there was a chance I might possibly need filler on an ongoing basis. ... So I decided if there was any chance I might be left with a "hollowing" effect it was not worth it. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Kapadia! He even went so far as to request records from my previous plastic surgery (done more than 10 years ago) to see exactly what had been done, which certainly indicates a very thorough approach! I might add, that my request from the surgeon in Concord was,not even responded to, completely unethical.. Also, his office staff is wonderful, very friendly and creating a very relaxed atmosphere. I am certain I would have had a very good result, but based my decision on the possible prospect of still having to have fillers, which, simply in my personal opinion might not have been a provided the "complete" result I was looking for. I went to Dr. Kapadia for eye bag filler and Botox. The first thing I noticed was how friendly and genuinely helpful his office staff was, I had never had filler before and Bianca and Donna both helped me to understand the process. Kara his assistant is a very knowledgeable esthetician who is also great at chilling patients out if they're nervous. When I met with Dr. Kapadia he was so friendly and took his time explaining the steps I should take to improve my baggy lids. I thought I needed a lot of Botox because in the past I've been told by staff at different medspas that my forehead should be injected to diminish lines. This has caused my face to have a "heavy brow" until the Botox wore off. I thought that was to be expected, Dr. Kapadia explained that I would only need a small amount. He didn't try to sell me procedures that I didn't need, he is upfront about pricing and explains what he's doing as he goes. Dr. Kapadia is very careful and gentle, very little pain and the bruising under my eyes was faint and short lived. I couldn't be happier with my results, it turns out minimal Botox and filler injected strategically by a skilled surgeon like Dr. Kapadia looks so much better that a ton of Botox Injected by someone who takes Groupon and also does Mani/Pedis!! After having discussed upper eye lid surgery with my primary care, she advised I have it done by an Oculoplastic surgeon, and that is how I found Dr. Kapadia. I had a filler injection by Dr. Kapadia for my under eye hollowness a few weeks ago and I am super happy with the results. It has been over 3 years that I am searching for a skillful doctor to do this treatment for me and I had already seen 4 other doctors before going to Dr. Kapadia. All other doctors had disappointed me for this procedure, either saying it doesn't work for me or giving me very high prices. I had many research on google and figured out that tear through injection is a very difficult procedure and needs a lot of skills. I checked out Dr. Kapadia website and then Instagram page and noticed that he is very professional in doing eyelid surgeries. There were lots of patients photos (before and after) that had the same condition as mine and the results were amazing. What I really liked was that the after photos were not with added makeup and this developed trust in me. My treatment was done in one session and the price was less than any other places where I had consultation with. I had some bruise on my left eye (which was expected) but it was totally gone in two weeks. I found Dr. Kapadia via a web search when I wanted to get rid of my under-eye bags as a "milestone" birthday present to myself. I was tired of hearing people tell me I look tired! The before and after pictures on his website were very impressive, more than other places I found. He has a very patient manner about him and after a consultation, I decided to have my droopy upper eyelids fixed at the same time. I can't tell you how happy I am. Observant friends tell me, wow, you look so relaxed, or well-rested! I actually feel like my field of vision is much better because of the upper eyelid surgery. There was some bruising, expected for surgery and not surprising since I bruise easily, even though I took Arnica as they recommended. My only comment would be that it took me more like 4 weeks before I was ready to wear makeup/go see people I knew (vs. 2 weeks in the surgery documentation). It's been 4 months since my surgery and the upper eyelid scars are essentially nonexistent. He strategically places them along the crease of the eye, but even when I close each eye, I can barely see them. The surgery was done downtown at Tufts but I come to the Wellesley office now for Botox! I can get in and out of there with no issues and very minimal waiting.
