Henry's coffee House is by far one of the best coffee places ever! It's prices are great, the food…read more(especially the carrot cake) is amazing and the atmosphere is so friendly. The only problem is you can't get a seat some times and have to walk to the other one 5 min away to see if that has a seat free! Henry's offers a great selection or hot and cold beverages and also has food which caters for most dietary needs. They carry a range of soya, gluten free, vegan etc. They are are also always willing to help cater for anything that's not listed. The majority of the staff are very welcoming (yes I'm a sucker for nice staff) and they also have free wifi which is always a bonus if you have an hour or so to kill. The coffees it's self are great tasting and when you ask for a large... you get a large and they also have a license for alchol, so if it's cold there happy to pop a cheeky wee tipple of whisky in there! There are two Henry's, theres one on the seagate with no outdoor seating and one, which is my favorite, at the main square which has outdoor seating. Right now there construction work however over the next months or so it will defo be my go to on a nice day in Dundee.... not that I need an excuse any more!

We're talking free range, gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, free trade, organic. *breath* Vintage plates, hearty mugs, on-trend innovative menu, home baked cakes and breads, hummous, hot buttered toast, MARMITE, maple & bacon cupcakes, soup, hearty mains etc. Open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea and cakes, this place is well worth seeking out. Dundee isn't the easiest city for those of us who go meat free or choose plant-based diets. Tea and Cakes does it's bit to shift the balance in the right direction. Recommended.

While there we discussed how many stars we would give and how it should be decided. A star for the delicious and unique food~ I devoured a bloody mary blt sandwhich, spicy juicy and to die for! A star for being one of the few places in dundee to serve chai lattes! A star for making the chai lattes to perfection! A star for a relaxed and arty atmosphere and quirky decor~ world maps, vintage chairs, branches hanging from the cieling and beautiful lighting And a final star for super service, friendly staff and for giving us two cute little forks so we could share a decadent slice of victoria sandwhich cake! Still loving everything about this coffee shop! If I were local, this would be my go-to haunt (as…read moreit is, whenever I'm in Edinburgh, I take the train just to come here and then walk the beach). The large interior has an industrial vibe while still feeling warm and welcoming, the courtyard outside is a perfect place to enjoy some sunshine (the upstairs is only open on the weekend). Get a cold brew or an iced latte or an iced Americano with oat milk - it's so good! They also have a few bakery items, including a vegan banana bread that is DELICIOUS (one of the best I've ever had). It's a thick, moist slab loaded with nuts and dried cranberries maybe? There's just something "more" to it that makes it special. I recently bought beans (flavor notes of "jammy" and "honey"; it's SO GOOD), and it seems like I can reuse the canister for a discounted refill the next time I'm here! I believe they even grind them if you want. They also have some really cool merch (tote bags [I own], beanies, shirts, etc). #CoffeeAndSocialSolidarity

We came to North Berwick from Edinburgh for the day via a very easy 30 min train ride. Steampunk is located in the back of a building on the main street of North Berwick. It is sparsely decorated but the theme seems to be related to bicycles. We stopped in for midday iced lattes and a snack. The lattes were good and I appreciate their to go cups and straws are all paper based. The granola bar we grabbed did not impress me at face value but wow was it delicious. Like chewy granola with some cinnamon added in. It was the perfect sweet pairing to the latte. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating here.
