I actually love it here! I went here for the first time last night with my girlfriend and we both were impressed. We had always seen it online, but for the first time ourselves we went to experience the place with the Hello Kitty stairs! The bartenders are attentive and friendly. Sliced cucumbers - delicious, crisp, light, spicy. 2. Steamed buns - these were just ok; didn't care for the sweet dipping sauce provided (was better with a little soy). We were actually looking for the steamed bao buns and ordered the wrong item :( 3. Spicy tuna roll - was ok; standard roll. 3. Udon bowl - good flavors but a bit greasy. Noodles and mushrooms were awesome. The pork was chopped and really only pieces of fat. Probably wouldn't order again due to that. 4. Shio Ramen - flavorful broth. Noodles and bamboo shoots were good. I'd suggest to ask to add more items to it because it could use more stuff in it! Service was good but we were very disappointed that they weren't serving any of the desserts on their menu. We went to order some at the end of our meal and the server informed us that they're revamping their dessert menu and aren't offering what's listed. That combined with the "just ok" food items is why I gave 4 starts. Definitely an awesome, unique venue in downtown Buffalo. Has a bunch of old school arcade games on upper level. I hate giving business' low stars. But I didn't love my experience here. We did only get cocktails and dessert so I can't say anything about getting a meal here. My cousins and I stopped in after dinner to grab cocktails so we sat at the bar. I did like their variety of cocktails. They seems fun and on trend with the vibe there. However we all ordered very different cocktails (yamu yamu, the vodka lemonade strawberry, and the Fitzgerald) and they all almost tasted the same. Which seemed crazy because yamu yamu was supposed to have cinnamon simple syrup in it and the Fitzgerald did not. I will say we did all get Citrus based cocktails so I could see why it might seems similar but the add ins should have made them stand out from each other more. It was disappointing, especially because they were pricy. We also ordered the fish shaped waffle with ice cream. (I cannot remember the name) it didn't fully describe the flavors it would be in the description but we went for it. It was super cute looking but not fantastic. The waffle itself tasted like a stale ice cream cone. It also seemed like it had some lemon flavor but we weren't sure. we asked the bartender and she's said maybe there is something lemon in it..which wasn't super helpful. I just felt like the bar staff wasn't as well informed about things as they could have been. The bartender that made our drinks had to keep checking a sheet to see what went in our drinks and the other tender didn't know about the dessert when we asked. I've been meaning to visit for a while, though I just never got around to it until this week. We were initially there for an event, after which my wife and I decided to try their various foods. The upstairs has a ton of 80s games, which were pretty awesome to play. Each and every staff member was awesome, and we loved the vibe. If you read some of my previous reviews, you will notice that it is rare where I compliment the staff. This seems like a great place to work, a great place to help keep profitable, and a great place to visit, enjoy, relax, grab a drink and some snacks or entrees, and reminiscence about the time when arcade games were at their peak. We ordered a couple of drinks a piece, which included the Karen, the Spongebob Squarepants, The Godzilla, and an IPA. The drinks were delicious. All drinks were pricey, a little too pricey, but that is a norm nowadays. We ordered a Loco Chicken Curry Ramen and a Pork Belly Rice bowl. Both items were on the pricier side at about $23/each, but very delicious. The coconut based curry in my bowl was cooked properly to where I could taste all the flavors. It is a pet peeve of mine when a coconut milk based food item isn't cooked for too long and one can taste the coconut milk from its fused in spices. My wife's pork belly was amazing and very flavorful. We both also loved sitting there and just taking in the aesthetics of the place. Either way, we would love to come here again and try other items on the menu. I've been here a few times now for drinks a d games- once for a birthday party and once for a bachelorette. Can I just say how impressed I am with their protocol as it relates to Covid! Our fantastic bartender Michael asked us for proof of vaccination and gave us stickers once proof was provided. They have hand sanitizer out, require masks for unvaccinated patrons, and are one of the few businesses still taking this seriously. For drinks- their Old Fashioned is top knotch. We went on a Thursday night thinking perhaps we would get a little less of a crowd, considering it was a weekday...but the place was still pleasantly busy! On the first floor they have a bar and some seating toward the back - it's narrow, but extremely cozy. I've been back other days of the week, but early enough to not have to shuffle through a crowd...best time to go. We sat down for food first, very eager to try their menu. At the moment it's a 'Sneak Peek Offering,' as our waitress told us the chefs are currently testing the waters when it comes to their food, meaning they're seeing what works and what doesn't. The food options are definitely Japanese-inspired. I ordered the Yakitori, which is grilled chicken on skewers with yakitori sauce - and our waitress suggested we try it Donburi style if we wanted to make it more of a meal, which adds rice, pickled veggies, and a soft-boiled egg for an extra $2. I have to say I really liked this option, with the skewers being pretty small, the addition definitely made the whole meal worth having! I hope they keep this option for their future menu! There are a ton of quirky things about this place that are just so incredibly satisfying to see and notice! From the working payphone, the pink staircase, Pony chandelier, and the arcade room itself, this place will certainly draw interest. I think it took us about 15 minutes to climb the stairs, we were taking so many pictures. Lol. Here's how the arcade games work - they have a change machine that takes $1's and $5's, so don't worry about needing quarters! Most of the games are either 25¢, 50¢, or $1 to play. All of the pinball machines are $1, the more popular/well known games (like Pac-Man) are 50¢. I definitely spent about $10 playing games for two hours. Pinball is my favorite. I love the games they have now but I hope to see some more systems in the future! Their cocktail menu is out of this world. I've only tried the Hello Kitty, and unfortunately it wasn't much my taste (I guess I can't handle Coconut Rum), but I'm looking forward to trying something else next time I'm there. As a Xennial, I'm pretty sure it's impossible for me to resist an arcade bar. So when I overheard some people at Allen Burger Venture talking about this new spot opening to the public later that night, I couldn't say no. The bottom floor is a bar/dining area, and the upstairs features a limited bar and arcade. Food service won't start until their grand opening in early August. And while the arcade aspect is fun, I have to admit the dining area is really what caught my eye. It has the look and feel of a Tokyo City alley, and for something so high concept it could have come off as cheesy, but they nailed it. The strings of cherry blossoms in the back by the bathrooms were a nice touch as well. Service at the bar was great. The place was really busy even for the first night of the soft opening, but I never had trouble getting a drink. They have a good number of taps, at least 20, but the tap list could have been a little better curated. I was surprised by the number of high ABV beers on the list when I was in the mood for something lighter. Lots of lighter beer options in bottles though, including pony sizes. If anything the area that could use some improvement is the arcade area. It is pretty cramped, and I kept having a hard time finding a place for my beer. There are tables lined up down the center, but as a woman, the last thing I want to do is put my drink down and turn my back to it. Also the games are expensive. $1.00 for pinball, and $0.50 for most other games eats away at your quarter stash pretty quickly. Plus a number of the games ate my quarters, which was disappointing. It was too crowded for me to bother trying to ask for a refund, so I am not sure what their policy is on that end. But I do think they should consider dropping the price or putting some of the more temperamental games on free play. Overall a fun joint with a cool vibe that I think will be a great addition to main street. read more

My boyfriend and I go to this bar frequently. Tonight (Sunday) we tried the restaurant. They were out of Shrimp and Pork. Which on a limited menu, that eliminated most of the entrees and only left chicken as a protein option. I got the Chicken Ramen and my boyfriend got the Hanzlian. We came here on a busy Saturday evening to see what all the hype was about. We came through the back door, up the stairs not even knowing there was a front entrance because of GPS. It was a little confusing because there isnt the name of the restaurant anywhere. (Probably because it's the back entrance) lol. But there's a lot of neat art and graffiti on the walls of building. For dinner we started with karrage and fried gyoza. Both good dishes but nothing out of the ordinary. The karrage is battered fried chicken tenders seasoned with soy sauce, sugar, garlic and ginger. I honestly dont remember how the gyoza tasted but remember thinking that it was good but nothing blew me away. We also got the chicken wings which didnt come out until we were halfway done with our entrees. It was fresh and hot but lacked flavor. It looks like how it tasted, fried bland, and sprinkled with paprika probably with a little sriracha on top. It was pretty disappointing. For entrees we got the udon noodle soup and the pork ramen. They both look great but unfortunately also lacked in flavor. The broth tasted watered down or like it was made of mainly soy sauce and water. The soups were so disappointing because it looked so good! My tip is to don't come for the food. Stick to the drinks and the cool pinball machines and old school arcade games.
