    Shio Ramen

Misuta Chow's is a unique, super cool and fun Japanese street food and cocktail bar downtown. The food and cocktails are delicious and there is an arcade upstairs as well as a glittery pink staircase which is famous for photos. Since this space does so many things there is somewhat limited seating for dining. If you want to try the food I'd recommend getting a reservation or you can also try your luck for bar seating, which is first come first served. We were in the area and had not planned dinner so we decided to pop in and got lucky with some bar seats. We ordered Sesame noodles, Shio ramen and Yakitori skewers donburi bowl. The sesame noodles was a cold noodle dish, highly recommended by a friend. The flavor was light and delicious with a healthy helping of sesame oil. The ramen was wonderful. They prob have my favorite ramen in the area. Light and flavorful broth, perfectly cooked pork belly, noodles with the perfect amount of chew and some crunchy baby corn, bok choy and scallion for freshness. Finally the yakitori skewer bowl which combined chicken thighs in a bowl of rice, and pickled veggies. The chicken had a wonderful glaze, was juicy and perfectly cooked. And the pickled veggies were a perfect way to balance out the meal. Service was great but I will point out that this place gets packed. We did not feel ignored by the staff but sometimes it took a little while to get their attention which is completely understandable. We enjoyed people watching while we waited for our check. We have been here before and have enjoyed everything else we sampled on their unique menu. They also offer some neat cocktails which are pretty reasonably priced. This place is neat and we are lucky to have it here. Stop in and experience something new!

This place is super fun. We've been there twice, and the menu changed a lot since last time. There more broad choices and they had added come very fun mocktails. The food was all good, and the ambiance can't be beat, very fun and upbeat, with great servers who were a lot of fun to chat with. After we ate we went up stairs and played video games. It was a great way to get dinner and some fun all in one, and the decor can't be beat. For your money this is one of the best low-key nights out in Buffalo.

I normally come here for their drinks but had the opportunity to dine in this past weekend! The ambiance is super cute. They were nicely decorated for St. Patrick's Day. The famous pink staircase is located in the back of the restaurant and connects the first and second floor. Upstairs, there is another bar as well as old-school arcade games. They had karaoke going on that night. I ordered a Hello Kitty drink and it was delicious and refreshing. My friends and I started off with the ramen wings and gyoza. I didn't try the wings but my friend said they were really good. The gyoza were too soggy for my liking. I was assuming they were going to be pan-fried leaving a crispy outer but that wasn't the case. I ordered a yakitori skewer Donburi bowl which came with two chicken thigh skewers as well as pickled carrots and cucumbers on a bed of rice. It was really delicious! I would def recommend this place. Our service was great too. John? Jonathan? was very welcoming and friendly :)

I've been wanting to get Misuta's for years, and I'm so glad I finally got the chance. We didn't have reservations, but luckily they found us a little table upstairs. We started with gyoza, which had just the right amount of kick to it. It was me introducing the dish to my SO and he instantly became obsessed. I got the pork belly bowl and it was really good. The pork belly did have a bit of chew in one piece, but otherwise the entire dish was great. After eating, we played some games. The entire atmosphere was fun and vibrant. It earns the hype.

Came here last minute completely unfamiliar with the area, apparently they were closed for a while for flooding and have reopened recently and are trying out some new things -- I think it's worth trying again although I can't speak to the past, and the atmosphere really is what you come for! Husband inhaled the loco moco. I loved my pork belly bowl but I wish it came with a sauce! Luckily soy sauce and siracha did the trick. Couldn't get over how nice the team was too. Bring cash if you want to do the arcade games we failed there. I'd be interested to return on a trip to Buffalo and see how their soft reopening is continuing to progress!

The good: We were greeted immediately upon entry The atmosphere is fun and welcoming THE PINK STAIRS AND ENORMOUS HELLO KITTY WALL The arcade games-great variety Karaoke Where they missed the mark: So-so menu The wait staff wasn't as attentive as we would have thought. (Not sure if they had to service downstairs) Took too long to bring out the food AND it was made incorrectly The last dish still hadn't arrived by the time we were ready to leave. If it wasn't paid for at the bar, we would've left without it. Note: the other guests in our party had left 10 minutes or so before we could due to this

The ambiance was good, the gyozas were ok. The ramen was the most UNSEASONED and TASTELESS bowl of ramen I have ever had. Don't waste your money. And go somewhere authentic.

So, I've been here before and left a 4 star review. However, I was here last Thursday and had such a fun night that I must amend my rating. I came here with my husband to play Family Feud. I'd only ever eaten downstairs, so I didn't understand the full scope of how entertaining this place is. I'd made reservations for us, so we were seated at the bar right in front of Brandy, my new favorite bartender. She was so fun and funny that I felt bad leaving her hours later. We ordered a round of drinks that were really good. I had a delicious hard cider, but I'm a little fuzzy on what my husband had, if only because the shots flowed effortlessly that night. All I remember is that he ordered a Godzilla at one point, which was delicious. The bar manager talked to us for a bit about the Spring menu, which also sounds amazing. Playing Family Feud was incredible, if only because we were winning for a little while. We came in 3rd. It was even more fun than I imagine the actual game show is. That may be the alcohol talking, though at the moment, all I'm drinking is tea. But I digress. This was one of my favorite nights at any bar, anywhere, ever. It's a jewel in Buffalo's crown, if only for that pink staircase. The ambiance is made excellent by the decor and overall energy here. If only I could come every Thursday! I'll at least come in the Spring to try the new drink menu *wink wink*

Wings aren't listed on the menu anymore but they still have them. Just ask. This was my second time here and I enjoyed my visit just as I did the first time. My husband and I came with a friend after another event somewhere else because 1. we were hungry and 2. my friend had never been here and wanted to see the famous pink staircase. She was not disappointed! We arrived at 8pm on a Saturday with reservations and were seated immediately. I got the shio ramen, she got the truffle and miso mushroom ramen, and my husband got buffalo wings to-go. Good food. Good service. Everything was excellent. The ambiance is great. Very trendy downtown sorta place. Lots of young people mingling. It would be a good place to take someone from out of town. Can't wait to go back. Yum!!

Teriyaki Chicken Bowl with fried rice.

We had great service and the food was fantastic. We ordered the egg rolls and gyoza for our appetizers. Both were excellent as well as our dinners. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl and everyone liked what they ordered. I would highly recommend trying this restaurant out for a casual dining experience.

In Buffalo the saying goes "Keep Buffalo a Secret" what secret doesn't need to be kept is how amazing Misuta Chow's is. From the ambiance to the food this place is hands down amazing. A place that Guy Fieri needs to visit. I ordered the steak and mushroom room and wow the flavors were amazing. The broth has the perfect umami flavor. It's rich and we'll leave a flavor explosion in your mouth. The sake was delicious as well, and the Suntory Old Fashion is light and refreshing and paired perfectly with dinner. This place is easily the easiest 10/10 would recommend I have ever given out. Make sure to give this place a chance you won't regret it!!!

Isn't my first time. I really enjoy this place it's unique because it has two levels. An adult arcade upstairs with full bar and the restaurant lounge downstairs. I usually get the ramen which is good but I switched it up. The Ribs were "ok". I tend to think the rice bowls have so much rice but you can have leftovers for tomorrow so I guess that's cool. I just wish I had a little more vegetables than rice. The peppers were great. I also got a Hello Kitty mocktail, also great.

We had to come back since the first experience at Misuta Chow's was so great. 2nd time could have been even better. We got the same exact order as last time, the shishito peppers and the short rib ramen with the special broth. We sat downstairs this time, under decor that feels like you're in a Tokyo side street. Our server was awesome. The best part was that we happened to sit next to another couple visiting from Kazakhstan. We got to talking and before we knew it they were buying bottles and bottles of Snow Angel sake (soooo good. We aren't sake drinkers but this had NO alcohol bite. Tasted like a popsicle) and we shut the place down. There is something really special, almost magical, when we come here. It's a full on experience of human connection and excellent food. They ruined us for ramen anywhere else and we aren't upset about it :)

Looking for a cool place for teens to go after Homecoming. Is this teen friendly?

    Absolutely!

Was wondering if would be appropriate to bring kids on an early Friday night?

If you're cool with them in a bar atmosphere, I don't see why not. They do crowd up and become mostly adults who want to engage in drinking and an adult atmosphere around 7/8 though. Just a heads up!

Also, they have a big cage that people can sit in only one though, and I wanted to sit in there, but it was already occupied by a family. The decorations are cute, but they don't have very many at least not on the side that we sat. We sat to the right when you walk in the door. The menus look like you're opening up a humongous encyclopedia or an almanac but there aren't that many pages in there so don't let it fool you. They have lots of different types of sushi, Japanese food, Chinese food, etc. My son got a salmon roll and a caterpillar which he said was amazing. I got General Tzo's chicken , which was much better than any Chinese place I've ever had it from. This was the real deal. But first I had pork eggroll and it was so good. They served it cut in half with duck sauce all over it and it was so good that way I loved it. Then I ordered a nice size bowl of pork lo mein. That was the best lo mein I have ever had in my life. It was absolutely delicious. My son tried some the next day and said that that was the best lo mein he's ever had. The employees were nice. Took a while for our food to come, but that was OK. We weren't in a rush. I ordered a Diet Coke and it seems that all Japanese and Chinese places that I go to lately they only give you cans of pop which seems weird to me, but whatever ! And this seems like a higher end type restaurant too. It's not a cheap little restaurant. This is a pretty pricey place, but like I said, it is delicious. I highly recommend going there and eating. Hopefully, you'll be as satisfied as my son and I were.

I believe I also ordered a simple tuna roll thankfully or I may have starved like my friends. My friends both ordered the seafood tempura thinking this would be the size of a meal or at least include rice. Everything I ordered was about 3-4 bites of food, the sushi was 6 very tiny pieces. The sushi was good and if I ever went back I'd order more. The jelly fish was crunchy and interesting and I ordered it for the experience so I enjoyed it. I love octopus but this was the toughest most horribly overcooked octopus I've ever had. I forced some of it down but had to spit out two pieces of it because they were completely inedible octopus flavored rubber. My friends were extremely disappointed in their "meals" that consisted of a single tempura shrimp, a single tempura squid and a single tempura scallop. They left hangry. The drinks were good and seemingly normal portions. I don't know what the draw of this place is but I'd be willing to try it again to see if I just experienced an off day and a lack of appropriate expectations regarding price vs portions.
