I've known this shop for years. I do not mind driving 17 miles from Sugar Land. Cawas and Karl Mistry are very professional and honest local business owners. Their mechanic is awesome. He is definitely experienced and knows what he's doing. I never have a follow up repair. Their labor rate is reasonable. The Mistrys do not up sell you , but they do recommend what needs to be done without pressuring you to do so. I highly recommend Mistry Auto Repair. Came here because the reviews looked pretty decent and I figured I could trust this mechanic shop. However when I arrived I only needed one thing a coil and spark change. Which was originally suppose to be around $250 which wasn't as bad. But the guy in the front kept trying to squeeze money out of me so what was a $250 bill turned into a $600 bill on things that I didn't even need. read more

I was called for 1 1/2 years to come work for the owner. This is not a disgruntled employee. Skip to bottom. Concern x employee/ citizen !! So I finally went with reservations. Single father 3 children , hav to admit there my everything . After understanding my side I was promised a position and pay. Cut that and not given other. Once there every week I was in office because I wasn't doing things correctly. Not what you think lights I left on was a problem, then my check was getting deducted without being told anything. It was called advances on the stub. Reality it was because I had to take time off for family ,or came in few late. I was deducted. That's fair I guess to an extent. Coming from two single guys that know nothing about children. Okay. Then I was bitten by that loud dog on site twice and left a bad couple bruises and scratch teeth marks. Come to find out the owner was teaching the dog to do this. He said good boy to that dog. What kind of person does that. Then when every car needs a radiator hose or completely change anything that coolant touches. Wow. Okay enough is enough. The last time I was in the office the owner said okay I am going to be staraight up. So I gave him his turn. When I was finally allowed I got fired because of his short temper, anger issues got the best of him. He was very very mad at the truth I gave him. Not to mention the tools that where stolen from my tool box. This is what I make my living to provide for my 3 children. I just feel like there is other people that can do equal or better work , that have alittle more compassion for people, that don't push work that don't need to be done. That have more patience and know about cars not having to ask the mechanic or internet , look on u-tube to leaner so they sound like they know what there doing! If you bill is anywhere between $700 to $1400. It's a goal for the alignment Mechine they want. I recommend not even looking at this place in the rear view mirror. read more

So I came back for my second oil change. Everything went smoothly and my car is running just fine. Great customer service when I asked them to install my battery. Last time I came here they informed me that my battery was leaking acid. Well with my busy schedule I managed to buy a battery elsewhere but never had the time to install it. It had been sitting in the trunk for the last 4000 miles. Since then the battery under the hood had continued to leak acid and it was quite a mess when they showed me. They were concerned that the acid had corroded my battery connectors and tie downs and asked me before that they may need to replace the corroded parts. Luckily they didn't and they didn't charge me for the clean up either. All the connectors were cleaned THOROUGHLY and the anti-seize coating applied to all components. The whole setup looked great. You could tell the attention to detail and the desire to do things right, as if it was their own personal car. I'll be coming back. read more

This review is long overdue. Mistry has been so good to me and my family's vehicles. They will check your car first and let you know what is wrong plus the cost to fix before doing any work on it. My mom's car has a lot of issues and due to the cost being too much to do all at once, Carlos explained to me the critical issues that needed to be done first and we can come back another time to fix the other problems. They will give you honest reports on your cars. My husband went in with his truck assuming his brakes needed to be changed, Carlos had it looked and told him that his brakes were still good, but it was the suspension that was the issue. With my vehicle, they have done small things on it, but how they handled a big problem I was having at the time is what impressed me. A few months ago, I was having issues with the brake and gas pedal. My pathfinder felt like it was stalling when applying pressure on the gas. This started happening more frequently and even when I was driving on the freeway, which was scary since I usually have my 2 daughters as passengers. When my car battery died one day, I took it to Carlos and his mechanic found the issue. He then went to his computer to do a little research and found some info that shocked me. My vehicle was one of the ones with a recall/service bulletin concerning the brake switch being installed incorrectly. He told me that my brake lights would stay on and the push/start button would turn the car on even without pressing on the brake at the same time. He printed the recall for me, wrote down the problems, and told me to take it to a Nissan dealership to see if I can get the work done for free or for little cost. He also told me to call him if they give me a hard time about it. Sure enough, Mossy Nissan was telling me that they were aware of this issue with some of their Nissan vehicles, but I would still be responsible for the full cost! I called Carlos and he ended up finding Nissan Corporate's number for me and had me call them. After a few days, I received a call from Corporate and was told I would only need to pay 10% of the repair cost. The total cost was over $500 and I only paid $40! Carlos didn't have to do that all for me. He could have repaired my car issue and made a profit, but instead he was honest about REALLY helping a customer out. Last week my car broke down in this part of town. I live a long way out but chose to find a shop near where I was. From these reviews I chose Mistry. From our first conversations trying to get my car there until I picked it up I could not be more pleased. Honest guys, great customer interaction and a very fair price. What else do you want from a repair shop. My only wish is they were closer to where I live. I probably will still use them even with the inconvenience of location. This was place was great! I normally take my car to the dealership for oil changes but it's about 20 minutes away so it's pretty inconvenient with a toddler on a Saturday. I made an appointment online and took my car early on a Saturday morning. I was only there about 35 minutes and I paid half of what I normally pay at my dealership. They have a clear glass window where I can look out and see my car being worked on. (This is important for me because I've had such horrible experience with dealerships in the past where they would say they worked on something, but in fact didn't.) Best part is, they're right around the corner from my house. Their customer service was excellent and I couldn't have been pleased more. I've been coming to Mistry for about 2 years now. I'm one of those people that knows nothing about cars, so I never know if a service shop is trying to cheat me or upsell me on things I don't need. I started coming here because of the good reviews, and I've been really happy. The shop manager is extremely friendly and courteous, and most importantly, never pushy. He can answer any questions you have about the work they're doing and will take you out into the shop to show you issues with your car. The only complaint I've ever had was with their loaner car. I had to leave my car there for 2 days and they offered me a loaner (which was great) but the car interior was really shabby. This car has been through the wringer, but it runs like a dream (a testament to their skills, I suppose). I don't want to knock off a star for this since I mostly come here for oil changes and other preventative maintenance which doesn't take more than a day. read more

Excellent service, great work, and good prices. Mistry hasn't messed around with me, they seem like they are trying to create long lasting relationships with their customers. When I go to Mistry it feels like they want to work with me in future, it doesn't feel like I am being gouged for all I have before I leave to never come back. They have a clean shop, from sitting area to garage and it feels like pros work there. I've been burned by shifty mechanic shops before (so say we all) it's nice to feel like I am not being jived. I have been to Mistry 3 times, first as a test oil change (to see if there was any shadiness before I tried them for any bigger repairs), second and third times I went back for some larger maintenance. All the people I have worked with, from the front counter to mechanics, have been provided professional attitudes and excellent customer service. Also my vehicle feels younger after my visits. Also, turn around on getting my vehicle back from them has been prompt and they have offered me a ride home every time I drop off. Both times I had bigger repair jobs I googled the parts and service explanations they provided for me and both times the parts I found online were comparable (low-high average) with cost, delivery, and taxes included in price. The labor costs have been great it seems they are willing to work with you when it comes to cost and savings. It feels good to feel like I have a "guy" for vehicle maintenance that 's right around the corner. It makes Houston feel more like home. I will be returning in the future when my vehicle needs service or maintenance. read more

I was sold an Annual Auto Maintenance Plan punch card for Mistry auto care on 1/17/17 from a sales guy representing Mistry auto care. I was hesitant at first but he assured me that my truck "we were standing right in front of it" with a synthetic blended oil would be covered for free and $9.95 oil changes. I didn't need the oil change right away but it seemed like a good deal so I paid the $19.95 for the card. Called Mistry today 5/18/17 to make an appointment for an oil change told them about the card and what kind of vehicle it was and was told this was only good for conventional oil and did not apply my vehicle. I'm sure the sale person told me whatever I wanted to here to sell the card to me. You know at the end of the day Mistry Auto care's name is at the top of the card and nowhere on the card does it say only conventional oil and filter or additional for synthetic blends. I'm out $19.95. read more
