4 star because seating were very limited. Good thing it wasn't too busy at the store so we were able to stand off to the side to eat our ice-cream and chatted for a little while. My matcha dipped ice cream was their $5.99 promo and hands down it was rich, delicious, creamy, and flavourful. The portion is just right too. My friend got the crème brûle sandwich and she was beyond stuffed and sick of it by the end of it.. will likely share it next time.
It turns out that it is possible to have too much of a good thing. I came here after dinner and ordered the s'mores ice cream bar on a stick. I went for the large size because why not. It was just a little bit too good. I think I took about three bites of it and that was enough. I do recommend this place but a little bit goes a long way!
I truly don't know what the hype is about except for the fact that sugar was sprinkled on 2 sides of an ice cream sandwich and torched for a creme brûlée affect. The sandwich was not extra delectable or anything. Just a regular chocolate cookie with vanilla ice cream. I fell for the gimick and reviewers saying it's the best ice cream they've ever tasted. Not in this case, sadly.
Why 5 stars? Because there are few ways I can imagine the combination of desserts being more enjoyable. --- --- --- After dinner, we were on the hunt for something sweet and ended up at Mister. The wife had gelato and loved it the night before, but I was intrigued at the possibility of something different. How about a thick Oreo popsicle with a layer of cream applied to the outside, that's then burnt with a mini flame thrower? HOW ABOUT THAT? Yeah, it was just as amazing as it sounds. I don't know if I'd ever get tired of eating this. Good thing it's located thousands of miles away from my home because my daily caloric intake would sky rocket if I were a Downtown Vancouverian.
My best friends told me that I needed to visit Mister on my trip to Vancouver. I didn't know what Mister was until the photo that they also sent had loaded. First thing I saw was the toasted Marshmallow fluff. Sold. I ended up finding three locations but this Yaletown location of Mister Artisan Ice Cream was closest. Not knowing what they ordered, I ended up getting the Full order of the Nanaimo Ice Cream Bar. For those who don't know what a Nanaimo is (I definitely didn't either), it's vanilla frozen custard base with cocoa graham cracker crust with almond and coconut toppings and a chocolate dipped shell. By the time they handed it to me, I wanted to say 'but where's the fluff', but thought against it since I had already received it with my hands. It was delightful, as I greatly enjoyed that combination. The chocolate dipped shell was also the perfect balance. I still needed to get the Fluff. I went to Mister Artisan Ice Cream again the next day. Somehow casually adding it into our travel plans. Ended up getting the Full Oreo S'mores Bar, after doing more research and going onto the website. The Oreo S'mores was slightly different with the bar being made of Oreo ice cream base wit Oreo crust, chocolate dipped shell, and toasted marshmallow fluff on top. The combination of the Oreo S'mores wasn't as dynamic of a combination as the Nanaimo Bar, but the Toasted Marshmallow Fluff really took it to a whole new level. I do wish that they had Marshmallow Fluff on EVERYTHING.
The perfect sweet treat for after a good meal! After my friends and I had dinner, we wanted to get a sweet treat (as one does, of course) and we stumbled upon Mister! We came here 30 minutes before their closing time and luckily, they were still open and willing to serve us. I ordered the creme brulee ice cream and honestly, I will be thinking about this ice cream for months. The creme brulee had that perfect sugary top and mixed in with the vanilla ice cream, it is the perfect creamy treat. The vanilla ice cream base is probably my new favorite vanilla ice cream of all time. We did come here a second time and I did order the creme brulee again but on a cone and unfortunately they do not do the creme brulee torched sugar top but since I loved the vanilla ice cream so much, I still ended up getting it with the cone. The cone was also super crispy and freshly made. It does get super packed on a Friday night since the second time we came here, it was around 9 PM on a Friday so be aware of longer lines. Overall, I would definitely come back here again!
Gorgeous looking ice cream treats with unique flavors and elements that are sure to delight any human being with eyes. We had a lavendar brulée bar, coated with matcha (think of a chocolate coating on an ice cream bar, but it's a green matcha maybe white chocoalte based coating). They were nice enough to split in two so my not so hungry wife and I could enjoy it without also exploding. It really was a delicious treat and we wish we lived in Vancouver as we'd head back and try a lot more. It was fun watching them make it too...dipping the matcha..."brulée-ing" it with little hand torches...the fog that happens as they make the ice cream itself right in front of you is a unique sight to behold. Service was friendly and quick. It's a small store front, so not many places to sit or be with your ice cream...but it's good enough that you'll forget all about that as you enjoy it. This is definitely a step above your average ice cream scoop shop with unique and tasty products that are beutiful, and a unique expereicne watching them being made.
I debated between a 3 and 4 star rating but the quaintness of this store and creative preparation of the ice cream using nitrogen will bumps this up to a 4 star rating We spotted this Yaletown tiny place the night before we ended up trying it. Lines are long and there is no seating but the instagram-able creations led us back here on a night we had a light dinner and 10 mile hike earlier that day I really wanted the s'mores ice cream sandwich which was torched with marshmallow ( who wouldn't want to try that ) however for the base you had to get chocolate ice cream or Oreo and I'm not a fan of either flavor ( yes I realize those are the correct flavors for s'mores anything but I am just not a chocolate fan ). I went with a strawberry mint ice cream sandwhich - 2 flavors I absolutely adore. The combo worked somewhat . It was good. Not great. Not amazing but good. Nothing to rave about and the ice cream sandwich felt premade, a bit bland, and a little too frozen ( it's really the only way I can think to describe it ). Husband went for the vegan macha as he is dairy free and it was pretty good too ( creamier than mine with a more frozen yogurt consistency). Overall, we liked it. We got our pics, we tried something new and unique and had a lovely night.
This small ice cream shop is the perfect stop for dessert any day. Unfortunately, there is very limited seating so expect to take your frozen treat to go. This was the only negative about the experience. Just know, it is worth it for the nitrogen-infused deliciousness you will be taking with you. I went here with a group of 7 people. The two staff on shift managed to take and make all of our orders very quickly and were friendly enough. It was a treat in itself to watch the staff, through the glass, making our orders and mixing them with the nitrogen. I ordered one scoop in a cup of the vegan genmaicha and was amazed at how smooth and creamy it was with just enough sweetness. I will definitely be back here to try more of their vegan/gluten free options!
This ice cream shop is very minimalistic with a lot of cool tones/grey. There aren't any samples because the ice cream is made fresh with liquid nitrogen. However, watching the staff make the ice cream was so cool! The smokey effect from the liquid nitrogen was very impressive and the texture of the ice cream was unlike any other ice cream I've had before. It was so creamy and smooth and I really liked that the strawberry mint flavour was fruity and fresh. I almost couldn't taste the mint. The ice cream is on the more pricier side, but I think it's worth a try!
YUMMM if you like ice cream sandwiches, this is the place for you ---Creme Brulee ice cream sandwich: SO nice! I usually think creme brulees have too thick of a sugar crust, but Mister somehow makes the sugar crust perfectly light and thin Wish we had time to come back to try their other asian ice cream flavors
Came by as we had a craving for ice cream. Location is easy to get to, SkyTrain accessible & walkability score of Yaletown is quite good. Service is just the service /order counter. Friendly staff, offered some suggestions. Few chairs for sitting at the front table bar near the window and on sunny days, there is always the waterfront/harbour for a nice walk. Tried the Hong Kong Milk Tea Ice cream scoop. More "tea" taste than the milk & sugar one may expect. I wouldn't call it quite a hong Kong Milk tea taste though. Partner had the Creme Brulee Ice Cream Sandwich. The creme brulee top/sides were slightly singed but could have been more evenly torched in my opinion. It did get quite sweet the more you ate. Overall, nice place but better places for ice cream in my opinion.
I've gone to Mister a lot in the past. My usual favourites are the Earl Grey and Thai Tea. This time I got the Strawberry Mint seasonal flavour though. It was pretty good. The strawberries were very fresh and the mint flavour was well-balanced -- not too strong or weak. The only con is that it's too expensive and too small. It's cool that they can make any flavour one at a time but making it with liquid nitrogen feels like a gimmick. I don't see much of a quality difference from other ice cream spots (e.g., Earnest, Banter, Rocky Point). Service is great and very fast. Inside the store is very small and there are only a few bar seats.
We got here at 930pm, and there's still a big lineup since the store closes at 10pm. As an ice cream lover, this place is like heaven. They make their ice cream fresh with liquid nitrogen which is one of their selling point. But they also have ice cream sandwiches and creme brûlée, which are nice additions. S'mores bar was also on the menu of that night, but it was sold out when we got there, so we ordered three cones of ice cream. Irish coffee, uji match and double Oreo. My favorite out of three is uji matcha, which reminded me of the matcha ice cream in Japan, I just love the rich matcha powder taste. However, I have to say the ice cream cones have big portions, the double Oreo is like a meal on it's own because it has real Oreo crumbles in it! So if you have a big dinner, you can actually share it with someone and still be satisfied. I will have to go back to try other flavors and it's definitely a must try in town! read more

Delicious ice cream! Somehow my family found room in our bellies after dinner to come here and get their vegan ice cream sandwich option! So good! read more
We had chocolate s'mores and matcha s'mores. The s'mores it self taste really good and the biscuit outside taste sooooo crispy!! The chocolate ice cream is very strong and not too sweet, the matcha ice cream is very authentic! We enjoy this in the snowing day! read more

Such a great and unique ice cream shop! I took the whole family and everyone got something different and absolutely loved it! Although you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, hand I known you could get an ice cream sandwich with the creme brûlée sugar I would have gone with that cause it's the perfect combination of everything great on the menu. Will definitely be coming back! read more
It's summer guys! Time to hit up your favourite ice cream places! One of exploring my firsts in Vancouver! I've seen it so many times but the queue has always been so long and now I know why ! I went later on a Friday night and there was no queue! Phew but I'm sure it's worth the wait too! Speciality menu, got the creme brûlée special, it's nitrogen made by mister on the spot even. Like wow it's quite an experience too! I loved it and it was amazing I demolished it. read more
The desserts are instagrammable for sure but the quality of the ice cream itself was lacking. I got the ice cream sandwich with the marshmallow fluff on the outside. The ice cream was too hard to bite into and was largely flavorless. I should have heeded the warning of the other reviewers here. Not worth it for the photo! read more

Super cute small ice cream shop. Service is GREAT! The ice cream sandwich was kinda hard to eat because it was pretty hard but the idea of adding marshmallow is great. It was pretty but a little too sweet for my taste. My friend ordered the creme brûlée and it was SO GOOD, next time i go, thats what ill be ordering read more

Always high quality and very good service. Last night my boyfriend went and got his usual, a s'mores Oreo bar, and he dropped it after leaving. They replaced it for free despite us wanting to pay. It was incredible service during Covid and I really hope that people go eat there to support the small business. The ice cream is the best in town!!!! They are also very safe with Covid and clean. read more

Ok I heard a lot about this place.... I was told that ice cream sandwiches were to die for... I tried it... I was compelled to seek the truth!!! I had a double Oreo Ice Cream Sandwich.... I have to admit I was a bit disappointed! Maybe the expectation I placed on this place and their ice cream sandwich was overly high! I mean it was passable but really nothing spectacular at all. I did not find it flavourful at all. In fact I would say the sandwich a bit too bland tasting. A regular ice cream sandwich I can buy from Safeway has more flavour than this place. Oh well nothing ventured nothing gained! My level of knowledge has increased! :)) read more

Words can't explain how rich and decadent these creations are! There was a bit of a line up waiting about 15 minutes but it was worth the wait! I ordered their Nanaimo and s'mores ice cream bar. read more
Mojito: 2.5/5 Just not my preference personally... It was very sour and I would much get a plain Vanilla over it. It was sour and almost slightly slushy. Smore's Bar: 4/5 Big portion, lovely chocolate, marshmallow goodness.. WARNING - Sweetness level is 10/10... A little too sweet for my liking. General: 4/5 The nitrogen fog is cool... I honestly can't tell the difference between Nitrogen IceCream and other artisanal types... DairyQueen still reign supreme for me. read more
Got the Creme Brulee ice cream sandwich since it seemed to be a popular flavor amongst the reviews though everyone seems to get different variations of it (in a cup vs bar vs sandwich). The ice cream was perfect and not too sweet. Paired nicely with the oreo-like cookie it was sandwiched between! You even get to see them toast the sandwich. Just not sure it's worth the price point but definitely delicious! read more

It was delicious and the crusty creme brulee top is awesome but expensive for the size you get. I got lavender creme brulee and it was very fragrant! My friend got Earl Grey brulee and that was very strong in flavour too. I would love to eat either again but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Very limited seating as well. There's 4 bar seats facing the window outside. read more
Double oreo ice cream sandwich (2.5/5) A little disappointing, as the ice cream sandwich was pre-prepared and the lady just took it out of the freezer and gave it to me. The oreo crust was pretty good, but the ice cream didn't really have much taste. Technically 2.5 stars, but I'm giving it 2 because prices are a little on the high side, although the size of the ice cream was decent. I won't be back though, because there are much better places for ice cream here in Vancouver. read more

Oh so smooth nitrogen ice cream! Having lived just steps away from here since it opened, I finally came down to check out the hype with no line up in sight. It was so good! I forgot taste the strawberry mint and pineapple flavours. Both are mouth watering. I settled with the strawberry mint and didn't regret a single lick. I also got the waffle cone. My only qualm is the price. Ends up being $10 with the waffle cone and taxes. This is definitely a splurge visit! read more

Ice cream sandwich game so strong! My work ordered a bunch to our office and holy hell these sandwiches were decadent and delicious! We got classic chocolate, matcha, vanilla, and Oreo. I opted for Oreo of course and the sandwich was the perfect treat on a summer day and a nice pick me up during work. Perfect cookie to ice cream ratio. People went back for seconds and I'm almost certain thirds. If you hit mister try an ice cream sandy! The green tea one was just okay, the ice cream taste airy. I also can't speak to what the overall vibe is at the store but I'll definitely head over to check it out! read more
I've heard so much about this place and I've seen countless Instagram pictures of their ice cream so I made a point to visit when I was in the area. I really wanted to get their coconut ice cream but unfortunately it was only for a limited amount of time so I just missed it. Instead we got the chocolate, avocado and s'mores ice cream. There was the option to get s'mores for half the size so we did that. It was super good but it was a bit too sweet towards the end The avocado really interesting, it had a freshness to it. It helped balance out the sweetness of s'mores and chocolate. I got it in a cone and it was sooo good! It was black and kinda tasted like chocolate! The place was pretty small but the kitchen is all glass so you can see the process of your ice cream being made and that was super neat! The ice cream itself was creative but the taste in my opinion was 3/5. I would probably come again if I was in the area. read more

A little pricy for ice cream, but what shop isnt? The creme brulee ice cream wasn't as amazing as I was expecting, but what surprised me was the ice cream sandwich dipped in matcha! The sandwich/cookie part was thicker and chewier than the average sandwich and it was really delightful. Overall, the idea is unique and I would recommend trying it but I would mainly come back for the sandwich! read more

WOW this place is good. Adele came here for ice cream so it makes this place a must try. It's also close to the Marinaside Pokestop. Got the Creme Brulee (which is the one that Adele tried). The Creme Brulee is pretty good. The ice cream doesn't have a super strong flavor to it but it was definitely very smooth. The portion isn't big either. The Creme Brulee is $8 but I guess that is the going price for nitrogen ice cream. Seating is very limited. There are 4 stools. right in front of the window. The kitchen is bigger than the available standing and sitting area for customers. Place is very small. Its easy to find because the place is so full of people. I would come back to try their other ice cream that is for sure. read more
Mister is a small, liquid nitrogen ice cream shop in Yaletown. When you enter the store, the walkway is very narrow and there's not a lot of space for you to enjoy your ice cream. There is a long table with four seats, but it becomes problematic when the place gets crowded. I went on a Sunday afternoon at around 3:14pm with family and relatives, and it was crowded and squishy. I ordered the Crème Brûlee ($8.00) and my younger sister ordered the Strawberry Mint ($8.00), which I found to be pretty pricey. While we waited, we could see the process of the staffs making our liquid nitrogen ice cream right in front of us. It was REALLY cool when they made the Crème Brûlee!! When we received our ice cream, we ate it outside because it was spacious. The Crème Brûlee ice cream was SO AMAZING! A MUST GET!! My favorite part was the crispy, burnt caramelized sugar layer. It was very flavorful, mouth-watering, and the ice cream was not too sweet. The Strawberry Mint ice cream was good, but you can't really taste the mint. Overall, I would like to come back to this place--the next time I'm in Vancouver--and try the S'mores Bar and their ice cream sandwiches. read more

dont really understand what all the hype is about. this place is nothing special. ice cream is average at most. overpriced to high heavens. and most of all...too sweet!! we tried the smores ice cream bar & the Creme brulee! the smores bar was huge. encased in a chocolate graham cracker is a chink of nitrogen infused chocolate ice cream. outside, what looks to be marshmallow but is actually cream is charred with a blow torch for colour and effect. so dont expect any gooey and silky marshmallow textures...the graham cracker held the ice cream nice and tight. the chocolate ice cream inside was simply too sweet. but it wasnt smooth or velvety like a gelato or anywhere close to earnest or rain or shine. the creme brulee ice cream was a complete bust. the actual ice cream was simply ordinary vanilla ice cream. what made it to become creme brulee-ish was the thin coating of caramelized sugar on top then charred with a blow torch. looks nice and instagram worthy, but once you try it, meh! the charred sugar provided a very bitter taste to the mouth that the ice cream wasnt able to mask. i did not find it good at all! service was quick and efficient though. everybody worked in perfect unison to cope up with the line. overpriced and over-rated! i apologize but its the truth! only good advantage to it is that the ice cream stays intact longer ...other than that, it has no profound effect or improvement on the taste. cheers! read more

Decided to finally try Mister after eating lunch at Meet and lemme tell you, it was fantastic. I had half the Smores bar, honestly I dont understand how anyone could finish the whole one, but hey do you! It was one of the most delicious desserts I've ever had in my life. . It's an ice cream sandwich with chocolate ice cream in the middle, graham cracker on the outside, dipped in chocolate, dusted in graham crumbs then covered in marshmallow and bruleed. It's a work of art. Its hours later and I'm still smiling thinking about it My friend had the vegan chocolate ice cream and it was quite tasty also. It's made with coconut and cashew cream. It's cool to watch them make the ice cream with the liquid nitrogen. There's not much seating inside in case you decide to stop by on a rainy day but it's a treat worth having whenever! read more

Treat yourself and get the s'mores bar here - it's extremely tasty, perhaps one of the best s'mores-flavoured desserts I've had in town! Soft slightly crisped marshmallow outside a nice chocolate shell is almost to be expected, but inside the shell are two chewy layers of ground crackers and a whole bunch of chocolate ice cream! I loved it. I also tried a bit of the matcha, and it was great, smooth and not to sweet. Having sampled a few others, that's actually a theme here - all the ice creams I tried were smooth and the flavours really stood on their own, without being drowned in sweetness as is too often the case at dessert shops. The inside itself is small, so you may need to take things to go, but it's great ice cream - definitely worth trying, especially for that s'mores bar! read more

My gf wanted to get creme brulee ice cream from made by mister after dinner and my other friend and I haven't ever been so we decided to go. I've also never tried nitrogen ice cream. The store is quite small and has limited seating on the side. They have a selection of ice cream and you are able to try them. I tried strawberry mint, thai milk tea and of course, my fave dark chocolate. My gf got her creme brulee and my other friend got matcha. Thai Milk Tea This really tasted like thai milk tea, not as strong as how restaurants would make it but the flavor is there. I'd get this if the chocolate isnt good. Strawberry Mint Mint is more powerful than strawberry. Didn't really enjoy this as much as the other two I tried. But someone who wants something light would probably like this. Dark Chocolate Delicious! Im not a fan of dark chocolate but man, this is delicious. This is for people who love chocolate. Matcha Im not a fan of matcha, so I can't really give you an honest opinion. It just tastes like matcha ice cream, nothing special. Creme Brulee This was delicious. Im not a creme brulee fan, but this was so good. I would totally get this next time I come here. They even torch the top of this. Definetly a must try! Their flavors change overtime but some of the popular ones stay. Give creme brulee a try! read more

The Thai Milk Tea wasn't too sweet and heavy that I was able to finish the entire thing! And let me tell you, it's a handful. PS. LOVING the crunch _ Flamin' Hot Cheetos Bar was interesting as you bite into it then the layers of flavor develop! Sweet, salty, then lingering spice in your throat. Keeping things interesting I would recommend getting the half size for one person or even to share because it's a lot! read more
