two ice cream cones
Mike T.

In general, I LOVE sweet and fruity ice cream with real fruit and marble slab creamery makes them perfectly every time. I've been to the marble slab creamery a few times now and I've never been disappointed by their ice cream. On this visit, I tried their raspberry cheesecake ice cream. It tasted delicious and refreshing. I added some nuts as a topping for added crunchy texture and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The waffle cone it comes with is also very good and perfectly complements their ice cream. My friend ordered a birthday cake flavored ice cream with sprinkles on top and also liked it a lot. The original price of their ice cream is kinda expensive but i had a BOGO free entertainment coupon which made the price a lot more reasonable. They accepted the coupon without any problems. I was able to order my 2 ice creams without problems. Small note but the staff lady working there at the time was moving a little too fast and I felt a little rushed when picking my toppings. I was the only customer in the store by the way. It wasn't a big deal but I had never seen a person move so fast there. Anyway, I have to give this location a solid 5 out of 5 stars because of their delicious ice cream and the fact that I got a good deal on this visit with the coupon.

This ice cream/yogurt shop is similar to Coldstone's Creamery, but they don't charge for every mix-in. You pick a size, flavor, and as many mix ins as you want. Then they mix it all together and you can either get it in a cup, waffle cone, or even a chocolate dipped cone. The great thing is that it's all one price. It's not the best ice cream I've had, but when you're at the beach across the street and want a sweet treat, this would suffice.

blueberry + vanilla w/ strawberry topping

Good texture to their ice cream - rich but not overly creamy. I like the concept of them mixing two flavors + toppings together for you. But most flavors were too sweet. The only flavor I really liked was blueberry, which had a nice tart flavor. The vanilla, red velvet, green tea, and black cherry all tasted very artificial and overly sweetened.

Icecream!

This place is a disaster! They are lucky they are in a prime location. They have nothing in stock. They are always out of everything. The employee helping me didn't even know what mint chocolate chip was!! Lol They ran out of stamp cards and my cone looked like a mess. I felt ripped off. Thier system makes no sense if you are paying for someone else. I will never come back here...Mcdonalds is across the street...i'll survive.

Great location. Great ice cream. I'm sad they did not have walnuts and my favorite nuts at this store. All together it was delicious. Enough said the location is right by the beach. Good experience.

They didn't let us mix flavours at the Sherkston Shores mobile location . This is an ice cream business with harsh rules ! To us it's a no go .

The folks working there were kind and professional. They looked like wickedly good witches as they added natural ingredients to their metal cauldrons, and then added the liquid nitrogen, creating a rapidly rising fog. So, really, you are getting ice cream and a show! The concoctions emerged as super smooth, not too sweet, distinct fresh flavorful ice cream. It is a small shop with limited seating, so not likely to be a comfie sit down experience for you given how popular the place is, but it is easy food to take to go and a very nice area for a stroll. So, that's the scoop! ;)

We tried the ice cream sandwich, the creme brulee cup, and the s'mores bar. I would say everything was good, but probably not something we would get again. After a while it just got a little too sweet and the portion was a little big so we didn't finish most of it. The next time I go if I ever go again I would just get one thing and share it because a bite or two is probably all you need to satisfy your sweet craving.

The ice cream here is awesome and the scoops were very generous. Only thing is...I wasn't a fan of how crowded and noisy it was inside. Had so much trouble hearing when people were talking to me. I much prefer the North Vancouver location of Earnest Ice Cream which is more spacious and less crowded. I can hear myself think more at the North Vancouver location. Parking was challenging. There's free parking on the street but only if you're lucky enough to snag a spot. It was very busy when I first arrived. I circled several times before I finally got lucky and a car pulled out of its spot on Fraser St. As soon as I saw that a car was leaving I parked in the same spot as soon as I possibly could.

I ordered the Original Peak, with a twist of vanilla and dark chocolate with cereal at the bottom. The first thing that stood out was the airy and fluffy texture, almost lighter than traditional soft serve. The dark chocolate brought a mild cocoa note, while the cereal added a crunchy, slightly nostalgic contrast at the base. That said, I expected the vanilla to have more of a rich, milky flavor. This is not the place for plain vanilla; it's the combinations (think honeycomb, matcha, or seasonal specials) that bring the experience to life. Based on the shop's concept, Soft Peaks is known for using local organic milk and keeping sweetness restrained, which tracks with that lighter, less sugary profile. Adding something like cereal or crunchy toppings makes a big difference. If you're a vanilla purist looking for a strong dairy note, this might feel a bit subtle.

When getting the matcha ice cream, I suggest getting straight matcha instead of the twist with vanilla because the vanilla washes out the matcha; it comes through better on its own. The sundaes are fun and a good, more affordable alternative to the similar parfaits at high end matcha cafes. I tried the tuna egg salad crepe and thought it was actually really good! The crepe was fresh and tender, there was a healthy amount of filling, and the tuna salad was actually mostly tuna with just enough mayo to hold it together which is how I prefer it. Again, the service is just through a window - you actually order at an electronic kiosk and the only interaction with a person is when your order is ready. There are two small tables outside if you want to eat there. During the busy summer season, it's very difficult to actually secure one of these tables, but there's other seating on the pedestrian streets just a few blocks away on Robson.
