I sat al fresco at the bar looking in. I enjoyed the ambiance. The inside is designed for groups to sit together and talk while sampling beer or wine. Four TVs were on the wall as an afterthought. The beertender was busy cleaning equipment before closing, but he explained to me that while the beer list rotates, the first five are staples, dominated by sours and IPAs although several lagers are also available. There is plenty of parking in the rear although I noticed that lighting is only toward the strip mall. The rear spaces are dark. I asked about dogs. Only service dogs are allowed.

They even have a "basura" drink that's served in a plastic bag... pretty funny! Food (4/5): Sonora's menu isn't large, but it's an interesting one. I ended up going with the queso fundido which is a Mexican cheese blend with birria. The cheese is served on a hot platter and it's stretchy. You have tortilla chips that you use to scoop up some of the cheese. While not a huge portion, it was exactly what I wanted. Traditionally, it's served plain or with chorizo.
