This is my favorite Pho spot. The bowls are full of flavor and the portion is huge. Their spring rolls are also a favorite with a delicious peanut sauce. Easy to get to, right off the argyle stop. I love this place. I can't attest to its authenticity, but everything I tried was good. I'll admit that I felt some of the dishes could've packed more flavor but keeping this review at 5 stars because of the amazing chili sauce they have (you have to ask for it) that goes well with pretty much everything. Plus our waiter was nice. 1. Egg rolls. Perhaps my favorite egg rolls in Chicago. Seemingly so simple but so rich. Warning that they are oily but that doesn't bother me one bit. 2. Brothless crispy chicken noodles (mi kho). Thin egg noodles, large piece of truly crispy fried chicken leg/thigh on top (if I'm getting my chicken parts right - see photos), chicken broth soup on the side as well as the green accoutrements. Got delivery from door dash and the food was all great. Only thing though is I received the broth less chicken dish without any chicken. Just a bowl of noodles. That was super disappointing. Without chicken it was just noodles and the usual lettuce and bean sprouts + broth. Smh Veggie pho was flavorful and noodles were perfectly tender. Southern style soup was really yummy and had tons of toppings with it. Garlicky and very savory broth. Would recommend. The food used to be good. The quality has significantly decreased. I always get crab rangoons and pho and I thought it was just off one night, but it has been consistently really bad quality. The crab rangoons just taste like they are filled with cream cheese. They don't have much flavor anymore. The pho broth doesn't taste very clean and has a weird smell. It is also incredibly fatty. The new noodles immediately get too soggy. The short ribs don't taste very good. They are mostly pieces of fat with some meat. The limes that come with the pho are old and don't have any juice left to squeeze. The bean sprouts and basil are not always fresh. I miss how good this place was. read more

Was walking by Argyle and saw this! Just as I was craving for some soup, my boyfriend and I stopped by Miss Saigon. The restaurant has a nice wall design of what looks like a food market in Saigon. Our server was very nice, our food came out quickly and tasted delicious-- especially the broth of the south style noodle. I was walking around the area looking into the yelp app while also browsing the neighborhood and found this spot. I saw the food the customers were having through the window and it looked very presentable and tasty.. I decided it to give it a try and was not disappointed. I had the roll sampler and it was good! I came here on a whim for lunch with hubby on a Sunday afternoon. There were no other customers inside but the workers were on their phones the entire time and didn't check on us. It was also cold inside since there was a draft coming in. I had the bun bo hue which was good but I wish there were more noodles. Hubby had the mi kho which he enjoyed. His dish was plentiful in size but he mentioned that the chicken was slightly dry. We also shared an avocado bubble tea which was pretty good. After searching and walking into a few places for pho (some of them which sold out for the day and others with a crazy wait time), we finally came across Miss Saigon Restaurant and it definitely was a gem worth popping into! Cute place with a handful of tables, which were all full when we arrived. The service here was good and the pho was even better! It was definitely worth the hike up here to Uptown for pho since nowhere else does it better. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were large. We will definitely come again! The menu is pretty small which is fine if you want to focus on quality of goods. The fried avocado was the reason we stopped here to eat. It was 1 avocado split into quarters fried in panko and covered in spicy mayo and unagi sauce and maybe some spicy tuna (I couldn't tell with so much sauce). Can I compliment the free refreshing lemon (or was it cucumber) water? That was refreshing on a hot day! Cute place to enjoy the atmosphere. Food portions are relatively small and they try to make Vietnamese a bit more upscale in a casual setting. Went on a beautiful July Saturday during Covid. They had outdoor seating that was mostly in the shade but we opted to eat inside. There weren't many people so everyone was social distanced and it was actually a really nice time. Service was pretty quick and the food was great. The sodas do cost a $1 for refills. We got the bbq pork Banh Mi which came with fries ($7) and the lemongrass chicken noodles salad ($9). And everything was really delicious, fresh, flavorful, really good! Good prices, clean interior. The banh mi french Brad was the perfect texture, soft, delicate, crisp crust but chewy interior. Great balance of pate, meat and pickles and fresh veggies. The fries were thick, nicely fried - you could choose between those or shrimp chips. The chicken noodle salad was really good. You could taste every ingredient and everything was amazingly fresh, one of the best I've tasted in a long time, a lot coming from someone whoo OK grew up in SoCal! Definitely a place to come back to the explore their other items on the menu. The fruit smoothies ($4.50) weren't fresh though, it was made of powder and didn't use fresh fruit in the making. I heard about Miss Saigon from an episode of Check Please. I came here after the feature (maybe sometime in October) and it was closed because they were so busy that they ran out of food from the weekend! So I'm happy I finally had the chance to make it up to Argyle again and to try this restaurant. I came on a Friday evening and it was surprisingly not packed at all. Overall I was impressed by the selection of food - they had a variety from pho, spring rolls, rice dishes, and hot pot but the menu was also so simple. I had the Saigon rolls, which were egg rolls wrapped in spring rolls - unique and delicious. I also had the beef short ribs, sooooo good! It was very well marinated and so flavorful and tender. It was served with rice and fries (weird but I still found myself munching on them). The pho was good too, definitely more flavorful than most pho I've had. This would be my new go to while in Argyle. The staff was very friendly and helpful while we were deciding what to order.
