We popped in around 8PM, after having some good eats at a sports bar nearby, and we were confused. The TV screens were off but the door was unlocked. Not a single person was seen but the "open" sign was on so we walked in cautiously. It also smelled interesting in there so we were whispering about running out of the place. We stood around for a couple minutes, quietly debating if this place was actually open as well but someone eventually wandered out from the kitchen. We were warned that a good portion of the menu was out and later learned that the machine the makes hot drinks wasn't in operations. A Classic milk tea it is! Personally I think out of everything we got the A4 Mondo Mango was the best thing. The rice was sweet and chewy which I liked, it almost tasted like boba but just in a big amount. First time at this location and it did not disappoint! This location is smaller than the one I usually go to. The décor is quite different yet appealing to the eye, with many cute spots that are great for photo opportunities. Even though this store is on the small side, they still have plenty of seating options for groups to sit and hang out. On this visit we decided to order items that we hadn't tried before. We got the strawberry yogurt shake with no adjustments and the orange fantasy fruit refresher at 50% ice and sweetness. Both drinks were delightful, and even though I got the strawberry yogurt shake without adjusting the sweetness, it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet at all, which was great. I have been to this location a handful of times as my usual go to location is the Mesa one. Every visit has been different. A couple of visits have been great and there have been a few visits where the service is not good. The few times we have decided to hang out, the tables have been dirty and sticky. I don't think I have seen it at any other places than the Miss Dessert stores. I also like the one with basil seeds and the other one with fruit. I would not recommend the green tea ice cream as it doesn't taste like what I am used to. They shape the ice cream. I am not sure if I could choose between the basil dessert or the fruit dessert. I think the quality of the drinks definitely went down throughout the years because every time I go back to Miss Dessert it's always worse than the previous time. I'm sad the Mesa one is closed because the drinks there tasted substantially better than the Gilbert one even though they're the same drinks. This place has been on my radar since the time they opened up. We went in on a Monday evening and there were few people enjoying their teas. The ambiance is bright, well lit with neon letterings and pop of yellow white colors through out the store. Definitely Instagram worthy shots in here. The menu is simple and I went with their popular milk tea with purple sticky rice and mango pancake. The pancake is premade and was handed immediately. I waited for a bit on the tea. The tea is delicious and tasted absolutely perfect. You can customize the sugar level. The tea was refreshing and the rice was definitely filling. I was impressed with the cups, the quality is really good and the logo engraving looked cool. The mango pancake was decent, felt there was way too much cream inside but the mango as such was fresh. I love how everything is not overly sweetened. It tastes about right. The pricing is great too, I feel they are perfectly priced for the quality and their service. Absolutely insane. We've been here 20 times. I go in on a Saturday night for a basic milk tea. The place looks badly unkept and the tv monitors were down. Things felt off. I get my tea. The first 2-3 sips were sweeter than I'd like since I ordered half sweet. But it's not the end of the world. Unfortunately it wasn't cold enough so I slipped the straw up so that I'd be drinking from the liquid around the ice. It enters my mouth and it's completely sour. I was in the Portillo's drive through and embarrassingly I had to spit it out. I feel terrible about that. I called and talked to the only person working there on this night, a young male who I'll keep nameless for now. He tells me the ice machine is down so they had to buy ice. I'm thinking it's contaminated ice. From a service standpoint, all he's saying is "would you like a refund?" And "do you want to come back in and try another?" What I want is to not be food poisoned. The kid is oblivious to the seriousness. But he does confirm the tea shouldn't be sour. I get home and have my wife try it to make sure I'm not off. To her it's sour too. I call back again because I want the owner to call me. The kid tells me they left out the milk tea from the night before and that's the problem. He needs to make another batch. Wtf!?!?!? We needed a drink so we came here on 6/28/21 around 4:30pm since it was nearby us. There were two people ahead of us but this place was empty. Parking was not an issue as well. We ordered the Classic Milk Tea ($3.49), two Mega Fruit Tea ($5.49), and a Peach Smash ($4.99). The drinks took a few minutes before they were ready. The Classic Milk Tea was good and definitely quenched my thirst on a hot day. Its tea flavor was good and the boba was soft and chewy. The Mega Fruit Tea was really refreshing and good. Not a bad Asian desert place! I come from California so the concept was quite similar Meet Fresh. Essentially the desert is shaved ice with a variety of different fruits, jellies, etc to choose from. Here, they served different interpretations of shaved ice including vanilla ice which is quite unique. My aunts were in town and have never tried anything like this so they wanted to go. There's a lot of different shaved ice bowls to choose from and a variety of boba drinks. Unfortunately, the sugar machine was down so we weren't able to order any fruit teas only milk teas so we only tried the vanilla ice with Watermellon, seeds, mango bits I believe and more. The vanilla ice is good but it's a little on the sweet side so if you have a sweet tooth, you will love this. Some things I love about this store: -You can order ahead online and pick-up via their curb side spot. They will bring out your drink if you call them but I find it faster if you just run in and grab them yourself instead of waiting for them to pick up the phone. This curb-side service could definitely use some improvement as it asks for your car model and such but doesn't make much of a diff if you have to call in to let them know you're here anyways. -Parking is easy and right out front. -Service is a lot faster than the original store My reasons why this is not a 5-star review is due to the inconsistency in the amount of toppings you get with your drink. I always get their milk tea with purple sticky rice every single time in addition to whatever drink I get, and the amount of purple sticky rice is so little sometimes that it's not worth paying that extra dollar for.. but the rice is SOOOOOO good I can't stop myself from getting them!
