Koko arrived super early at the bride's house and finished all three of us (bridesmaids) makeups and hair! Before she started the makeup, she discussed with me regarding the styles and few heads up instead of moving forward without my opinions. She's delightful to work with! During the process, she also patiently explained her choices of the makeup products to better suit my skin and style :) She also responded well to spontaneous requests and concerns! I told her that my hair is soft and thin so it's hard to create a "full volume" look. She immediately addressed the issue, creating a very beautiful hair style for me :) I would recommend Koko to everyone who is looking for a makeup artist who listens, cooperates and is skillful and pleasant to work with ;)

Her packages were pretty fair in pricing, I thought, compared to some other places I looked at, and she was so easy-going and fun to work with! I got a free trial included in my package and we had quite a lot of fun playing around. Even though Penney lives a little farther out part Martinez, I think it was worth it as many MUAs also charge you another couple hundred dollars just for a trial. I also used the trial makeup/hair to do an engagement shoot, and Penney even let me borrow the hair extensions she had tried on me for the shoot! It was seriously so nice of her. And some of the other places I researched would strongly recommend not using your trial for photos and charging you another fee to do engagement shoot makeup. It's honestly absurd and Penney is no-fuss, no games, down-to-earth, which I appreciated. I won't lie, a big part of why I chose Penney was also because she IS Asian and I wanted someone who knew Asian faces to do my make up. I'm sure non-Asian people can do Asian makeup just as good, but I have trust issues...so sue me! The makeup stayed intact all day (hot June wedding) and the best part was getting a good friend out of all of this! :) I'd highly recommend having her do your hair/makeup!

There were also 7 other girls that needed to have their makeup and hair done (including the two mothers) and they all looked incredible, thanks to Penney and her team! It was really easy for me to tell the team what I wanted for the bridesmaids' look and they made it happen. Besides being an amazing hair and makeup artist, Penney is just an incredibly nice person and super easy to get along with! I highly recommend her and you'll definitely feel and look gorgeous on your wedding day! =) Thanks so much Penney!

She worked on my hair first. I'm not used to curls since I usually would have straightened my hair instead. I let her choose what she wanted to do as far as my hair and make up. I'm easy and not picky at all. Heck, just getting dolled up was exciting for this Mama! After she curled my hair, she started on my make up. I told her to just do what she does. She took her time and explained what she was doing. I was so excited to see the "end result". When she took my hair down; I loved it! It was so different from what I am used to. Can you say glamorous?! I hardly wear any make up. I'm a pull the hair in a ponytail and put on some lip gloss kinda gal. I was out of my element; but, it felt so great! When I went to pick up my girls I wish I recorded them. Their reaction was so cute and hysterical. My 5 year old had the biggest smile since she loves make up and said, "Mommy!! Oh my God!" She ran up and touched my face. It was hysterical. My 8 year old smiled and said, "You don't look like a Mommy." Uhhhh...okay. Lol. Hazel was so kind and it felt wonderful to get dolled up. Thank you so much and you have such a great set up. I absolutely loved her ring light kit.

I reached out to Hazel via the Knot, I was interested in hiring her for my bridal hair/makeup and requested a trial. Hazel went above and beyond! She fit me in extra early because I really wanted to experience the makeup with a full day ahead of me. I loved my makeup and received so many compliments. Fast forward... we are about 3 weeks out to my wedding day and my venue cancels on me due to COVID restrictions. When I told Hazel she was so sympathetic and went above and beyond AGAIN. She reached out to her resources and tried to help locate a new venue that we could possibly book. Luckily we found a venue and Hazel & her team did such a great job with our hair and makeup. I have curly hair and it was so important that my hair was left natural. She executed my vision and my hair stayed in place even into the morning, LOL! Needless to say, is Hazel doesn't just offer great services but you really feel like she becomes a friend. My family even hired her for my niece's birthday photos.

My wedding planner recommended Vivian, and from our very first conversation, I knew she was the perfect fit. Before my trial, I sent Vivian several inspiration photos, and when she completed my hair and makeup, it was exactly what I had envisioned. She listened carefully to my preferences and executed everything flawlessly. Vivian also did my hair and makeup for my rehearsal dinner and offered thoughtful suggestions on how to make that look distinct from my wedding-day look while still feeling true to my style. On both occasions, I received so many compliments on my hair and makeup. On the wedding day, Vivian and her team made not only me but my entire bridal party look absolutely stunning. Celia carried this patience and positive attitude into our wedding day, especially when my hair needed a couple of adjustments (in part since I hadn't done the hair trial to save some money).  She also brought an amazing under-eye mask (which saved the day after fewer hours of sleep than ideal) and a helpful touch-up kit. From start to finish you are just amazing. Alright here goes my review. Like most of you I was looking for the perfect make-up artist, which is not as easy as you think. I actually had settled on someone but I wasn't 100% sold - since your wedding day is the day you are to look you best I decided to invest in one last search for "the one". So glad I did, because I came across Lucy. I met with Lucy for a trial which was awesome - I got to know her, she got to know me and we clicked. On top of that when she was done with my trial I knew this was the chicka to put the finishing pieces on my wedding day. If you are looking for someone that knows what they are doing, has a passion for beauty and is a wonderful person to have on the most important day in your life - you want Lucy. Not only did Lucy make me look amazing - she did my 2 sisters + my mom all in time for me to walk - truly amazing. I had so much fun laughing and hanging out while we all got our make up done - making jokes and taking each moment in. I wish I could re-live my wedding day again and again. I hope this review does your work justice - if not I will post a few pictures that will speak more than 1000 words. Lucy from the bottom of my heart - I thank you! Love, Very happy 11.12.13 Bride

I was less than two months away from my wedding and had not yet booked a makeup artist. The one I…read morehad initially found through Wedding Wire was making me feel uneasy and worried as to whether or not she'd show up on my wedding day (she did not email me contract information for a week past when she told me she would because she'd thrown her back out...how was I supposed to feel confident that she'd be healthy on my big day if she couldn't even send an email??) I was stressing out big time that I hadn't found someone, so I contacted my fabulous wedding coordinator (see my review for Eventful Days - Jill Guiomar), and she recommended Lucy-Zayne. I feel so incredibly grateful to the makeup artist who made me feel uneasy, because if all of that hadn't happened, I never would have found Lucy!! Lucy was quick to respond to my voicemail inquiry, and we set up a makeup trial shortly after the call. The trial went wonderfully, and Lucy was so easy to talk to. She'd asked me for photos before the trial of my dress, my earrings, how I was planning to do my hair, and also examples of makeup styles I was going for. She executed the look I wanted perfectly during the trial, and I had the utmost confidence in her on my wedding day! Her prices were extremely reasonable as well (especially for the Bay Area which can be outrageous). Communication with Lucy was fantastic throughout the weeks leading up to my wedding. She even emailed me to let me know she was going to be out of town for a wedding a little before my wedding, so she might be hard to get a hold of on her travel days. Anyone who has gotten married knows there is nothing like great communication and setting expectations when it comes to wedding vendors! Lucy was one of the best communicators I had among all my vendors. Lucy showed up to the hotel right on time the morning of my wedding. She got two and 1/2 of my bridesmaids (one just got lashes and a little unexpected, but appreciated overall makeup touch up), my mom, our two flower girls and me done with time to spare! Everyone looked beautiful!!! My mom and bridesmaids really enjoyed talking with Lucy while they were in her chair, and they were all really happy with their makeup. Lucy gave everyone touch up makeup kits to take with us so we could keep our makeup looking fabulous throughout the day and night. I can't tell you how many compliments I received throughout my wedding about my makeup, and they keep coming in from people who weren't at the wedding but have seen pictures. No one can tell that I only had around 3 hours of sleep the night before because of Lucy's magic! I am so thankful Jill recommended Lucy-Zayne to me, and I highly recommend her to any bride who is looking for a great makeup artist!
