We had originally booked Chien & Buffle for our tea ceremony + wedding reception photography but ended up needing to do bridal make up as well. We were very happy with the service provided for both. For the photography, their team of photographers were professional in the setup. Our planner worked with them to give them the layout of the venue and the rundown of the day. Aside from that, we had a couple calls leading up to it where we discussed details. I believe the names of the two photographers were Nathan and Ngoc (Nuc?). They acted quickly and were fast to take candids when exciting moments happened. They did a great job posing us with our guests as well for more proper pictures. No complaints there, looking forward to receiving our edited photos! For the bridal makeup, my wife was extremely happy with the quality of the service and I think she looked amazing. Diep and Chris arrived to our house promptly and communication was smooth throughout the entire process. Diep and her assistant Chenmy(?) were professional and worked very fast. They are both super chill and we even listened to some true crime podcasts while getting ready lol. They were flexible and able to work in a space without a lot of natural lighting (they for sure are experienced since they had all the equipment needed to transform our living room table into a little professional studio). They executed my wife's vision perfectly; not to mention they were gentle and able to apply false lashes without any irritation. They secured her traditional headpiece with no problems of it throughout the day. They also got some getting ready photos of her during the makeup session, which was awesome! Can't wait to see those as well :-) . We would highly recommend Chien & Buffle, and her team for any of your bay area wedding or event needs. Whether its media or makeup, they will definitely deliver! Thank you Diep and team! read more

do the bridal package. I'm particular and I only trust make up artists who are Asian for my features (especially monolid) and she did not miss. The vibe of the area was also wonderful, quiet, and spacious. It felt luxurious! The photos speak for themselves. I wanted a mix of Korean / natural and sexy and she delivered, on me and my bridesmaids. I got a lot of compliments. Use Chien & Buffle. read more

It's been a long time coming for this review. I got married in 2024, but this husband and wife duo company deserves some praise! Chris and Diep are friendly, professional and very hardworking. I will admit there were many times I was going through a rollercoaster of emotions during the wedding planning for process including hiring a photographer for my pre-wedding shoot. I have been doom scrolling, searching Facebook groups and I've been on social media searching all over the place. I am thankful that Diep came across my post and introduced her and her services to me. She was at the time still new to wedding planning. Her and her husband Chris offer wedding photography, rentals, hair and makeup services too! I'm a very picky person and an over thinker. With that being said, I was looking for "perfection" or at least something close to perfection as we all know "perfect" doesn't really exist. I booked a shoot with Chien & Buffle and honestly, I keep looking back at my photos just admiring them. They really captured the love between my husband and I. I still get compliments on the photos. My husband loved my solo pics so much that he has one of them as his phone's wallpaper. We even ordered canvases of some of our favorite shots! We shot at San Francisco City Hall & The Palace of Fine Arts. It was actually one of the funnest days for me. I love dressing up and getting pretty pictures taken. I'm glad I took a leap of faith and went with Chien & Buffle. I must admit, I know I'm not the easiest person to work with. Heck, I might have even been one the toughest clients that Chien & Buffle had to deal with, but I am glad that the team was patient with me and accommodating. The photoshoot was fun, my husband and I aren't the best at posing for photos, but Diep and the photographer guided us on how to pose. I also saved many Pinterest poses for inspiration. Diep was prepared by saving those photos and reviewing them to make sure I was able to get as many of the poses I liked as possible. Of course other non-Pinterest inspo pics were taken as well. Diep is very detail oriented. If the veil or dress is out of place or there's some fly aways, she will step in and and do her best to adjust/fix those things so that the pictures come out as best as possible. The editing came out really nice. I love how Chien & Buffle offers sneak peeks. I'm always anxious to see the final photos. Having a sneak peeks helps distract me from when the final photos are going to be done haha. I was so excited to share these with friends and family! Chris really took his time to edit the photos like removing people from the background, removing fixtures, retouching the skin. A lot of my insecurities went away after seeing the final version of the photos. I will say that communication is extremely important. Some people might not like super re-touched photos and that's okay. Chien & Buffle can adjust to your unique situation/requests. Speaking of communication, I was unaware at the beginning that the beauty mark on my left shoulder was going to be photoshopped out, and that the height of my husband, father and brother were going to be made taller via editing. After I addressed my concerns with Diep and Chris, they made the editing adjustments back to normal height. I wasn't sure if they saw height an issue, or my beauty mark as an imperfection, but it's part of my identity. I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding. Most girls prefer their significant other to be taller than them. I however didn't mind that my husband is slightly shorter than me. I didn't want my husband to think I requested the height adjustment/photoshopping in the photos and make him feel insecure so that's why communication is so so important. Overall, I am happy with the photos. Looking back, I do wish I had more city hall photos. It's just so beautiful there!! I highly recommend Chien & Buffle. Diep and Chris are very talented. I am proud of how far they have come. Literally they started out on their own apartment and now they have their own storefront! I also want to mention that their team will help you scout the photography area(s) for the best lighting and work with your best angles so you can focus on having fun during your shoot and stress less! Don't just book them for a photoshoot, you can even book them for your wedding photography and videography needs. You can also book your wedding makeup with Diep. She's very experienced in doing makeup, especially for Asian styled makeup like Douyin, Korean, and Thai style makeup. She does hair as well! By the way, she offers makeup classes as well! Isn't that so cool?! read more

I absolutely loved my hair and makeup on my wedding day, thanks to Diep from Chien & Buffle! I first discovered her work on Instagram and was immediately drawn to her specialty in Asian makeup styles--exactly what I was searching for. The Douyin and Thai-inspired look she created enhanced my features beautifully: soft neutral pink-peach tones, subtle highlights that defined my aegyo-sal, a cute button nose that gave me a fresh youthful glow, natural double eyelid tape, and delicate lower lash extensions that made my eyes sparkle. I especially appreciated how she balanced my brows with a lighter, slightly feathery shape for a more youthful appearance. After my hair and makeup trial, I decided to change my preferred hairstyle for the wedding day, and Diep delivered even better than the inspiration photos! The whimsical loose updo with twisted braids was dreamy, and the way she placed the hair accessories around my temples made them perfectly visible even with my veil on. Diep's dedication to her craft is clear. She continuously trains across Asia to keep her techniques updated, and her passion shines through in her work. She also takes skin prep seriously, which made a huge difference: my hair and makeup held flawlessly for over 10 hours in sunny outdoor weather and through late-night dancing. Beyond her incredible talent, she is so sweet and easy to work with, and her team did an amazing job with my bridesmaids and our moms as well. Thank you, Diep, for making me feel so beautiful and confident; I received endless compliments all day, and I owe it all to you! read more

Recently having some makeup sessions with Diep, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it for all my Asian girlies who're into trendy/modern Korean makeup looks. tldr: very skilled HMUA who is also super sweet. You will not regret hiring her! I'm so grateful I found Diep to do my hair and wedding makeup! She was so warm and personable. You can rest assured having her as your HMUA. During our trial, she made sure to walk through different options with me, and double check I liked every aspect of the look. She made sure give tips for skincare leading up to the wedding too, to make sure my skin is extra hydrated for a long day. She applied the notes from the trial perfectly on the day of the wedding! I don't usually wear makeup and didn't want to not feel like myself. Diep worked her magic and really accentuated my favorite parts of my features! Even the fake eyelashes felt comfy, and I've always hated them. It also held up against lots of tears during the ceremony. I also had a touchup before changing to a tea ceremony outfit. Diep perfectly tweaked the eye and lip makeup to match the new look. We were definitely behind schedule when we started, but somehow she got me out right on time and feeling beautiful! I almost forgot to mention the great job she did on my hair. Her signature half-up half-down with curls was perfect and held up great even with adding and removing the veil. The second bun look was also super secure, and artfully arranged. read more

I highly recommend booking Chien & Buffle for hair and makeup services! Diep makes a huge effort to stay on top of the newest trends and techniques for Asian makeup. The communication process was so smooth and they provided great tips during the booking process. All the products used are very clean and organized. I appreciated the time spent on ensuring good skin prep. Diep was fantastic at trying to understand the look I wanted and made sure everything was to my liking with each step. She is also so friendly and I had a great time chatting with her. She easily created the hairstyle I wanted as well. Do not hesitate to book for your bridal makeup and hair! She is so close to SF city hall, so it is so convenient for ceremonies here! read more

Super sweet, very professional, and would definitely work with her again! I hired Diep for my Bridal makeup trial and Wedding Day makeup. She was great at communicating, answering my questions, and I could feel her professionalism through each step. She guided me on how to re-glue a stray eyelash even after our makeup trial ended and was super flexible with our big group needs on the day of the wedding, maintaining a steady and calm presence. My wedding makeup lasted the whole day, in wind and shine, even with dry lips. I appreciate the face and lip masks she applied at the beginning to retain moisture. The hair looked incredible, felt extremely secure, and I was able to dance with no issue the whole night (see photo)! She was able to incorporate asian hairpins into my hair and my bridesmaids' hair seamlessly. She and her teammate were also able to do makeup for Indian skin tones! One thing I really appreciate about Diep is that she seems to always be learning -- new techniques, new makeup classes, new collaborations with others. She was headed to Vietnam/Korea for makeup classes after my trial actually. I appreciate this because there are always new techniques, products, and trends coming out in the beauty world and I felt assured that Diep was on top of her ish. Last thing to consider is if you have a summer wedding, make sure to take into account that you might be darker than your makeup trial skin tone and bring that up in your communications (I look a little pale in my photos but not that big of a deal!). read more

Chien & Buffle - End of the Night hair! Pretty good for 10+ hours both outdoor and indoors :) - Makeup Artists Near Me

I had a really DISAPPOINTING experience with Diep that I still regret a year later--especially after spending almost $500 on a hair and makeup trial that went so poorly I didn't end up booking her for my actual wedding. Before the trial, I specifically asked if she had experience with the hairstyle I wanted. She assured me she did--but during the appointment, she ended up watching tutorials on how to do it and still didn't get it right. The makeup was also a letdown. I asked for a soft glam look, but the result was heavy and unflattering, with overly thick, dark brows that didn't suit my features at all. What made it worse was that my skin--very dry and sensitive--wasn't moisturized promptly. We stopped for almost 10 minutes to watch wedding videos her husband had worked on, and my skin became visibly dry in that time (it was a cold day). This completely affected how the makeup sat on my face. I reached out afterward to express my concerns and ask for a partial refund, considering I didn't proceed with booking and was genuinely unhappy with the experience. Unfortunately, they refused. I'm writing this so other brides don't go through the same thing. It was a very expensive and frustrating lesson to learn. **[RESPONSE]** Thank you for your response, but several parts are inaccurate and disappointing, and I want to clarify for anyone reading. While we exchanged messages after the trial, I never confirmed you for my wedding. I left the trial feeling unsatisfied--the makeup didn't flatter my features despite asking for soft glam, and the brows were overly thick and dark. I also asked beforehand if you had experience with the hairstyle I wanted, and you said yes, but during the trial, you were looking at tutorial videos from my phone (on repeat) and still didn't execute the style correctly. After washing my face, your husband showed me videos. During that time, my very dry skin remained unmoisturized in cold weather for nearly 10 minutes, which directly impacted how the makeup sat on my face. I left the appointment feeling extremely uncomfortable, which I have also brought to your attention right after the trial. You offered another trial, half off... To make matters worse, everyone close to me--friends and family--agreed that the makeup actually downgraded my overall look, when the purpose of makeup is to enhance and elevate your features. It's unfortunate you've framed my outreach a year later as "ghosting" or being "out of the blue," when I was simply giving myself time to reflect before deciding to speak up. I came to you privately hoping for a gesture of good faith, not a full refund, but was met with a flat refusal and an offer for another session I no longer felt comfortable accepting. The truth is, I walked away from that appointment feeling like I wasted $500 on a look I would never wear on my wedding day, and I chose not to book your services as a result. **If you're unhappy--even if it's because of things that happened during the trial itself--this business will not offer any kind of refund. Mistakes happen, but the unwillingness to take accountability or acknowledge the client's experience is the most disappointing part of all. read more

I found Chien & Buffle on Instagram while looking for a makeup artist in the Bay Area, and I instantly felt Diep could bring my vision to life. During the trial, she suggested a muted mauve tone--something I'd never considered for my warm undertone--but it looked stunning. I asked her to tweak it with a touch of muted brown and a softer contour, and on the big day, my makeup was perfect--like a more radiant version of myself. Diep is kind, talented, and easy to work with. My bridesmaids and friend (for her engagement shoot) looked beautiful too. Highly recommend! read more

Finding Chien & Buffle was one of the highlights of my big days preparation. It was not easy to find a makeup artist that specifically did the type of asian makeup I was looking for but lo and behold-- Diep came to the rescue! Their team was very responsive and reassuring during the initial consultation and their portfolio was enough to give me the go. I shared some inspo photos and trusted them to put my vision to life. The day of the preparation I was lucky to be greeted with such a kind artist that talked me through the whole routine making sure I knew what was being applied. She started with a simple skincare routine that helped with my skin texture. Throughout this time, Diep made sure that I was comfortable, we talked about her artistry and experience ensuring a good client-customer connection. With great background and training experience around Asia, Diep only used high quality products and techniques that made the makeup application go smoothly and the results were amazing! She effortlessly made adjustments needed for my skin tone and skin needs. Though I was not a big blush person, the makeup look I wanted required a good amount of it and I was not sure it was going to look good but Diep mixed the perfect colours and made it looks so flawless yet natural at the same time. Both the makeup and hair were consistent with the inspo photos and both lasted the whole entire day! I could not have been happier about my makeup look since it looked amazing in real life and in photos. After, I was provided with a touch-up kit which was very kind of her. I don't usually write reviews but this is one of the services I have received that I truly felt was exceptional. This experience just grounded my confidence in this team and I am very much looking forward to working with them again. read more

Diep did my hair and makeup for my city hall elopement. She was professional, kind and most importantly, did an amazing job on my look! She nailed my vision and even came to me for the big day. Chris came along as her lighting and content assistant and my partner and I really enjoyed chatting with him about photography. Both Chris and Diep were so nice and we really enjoyed having them be a part of our special day. read more

Something I've always wanted to learn was how to do my make up. Learning how has always been on my mind, but I was putting it off until I had more time and money. For the new years I decided to finally bite the bullet and invest in myself, and boy did I feel like it paid off. I learned so many tips and tricks for make up. She showed me how to properly apply my make up, what tools she recommends using and provided feedback for each step, where she did the step first on one half of my face and then I did the other. She was also very up to date with the latest popular styles in Asian right now. Now just a heads up, these lessons focused on make up application, so we didn't delve too much into colors. Not that we didn't use them, but the focus was on how to apply eye shadow or lipstick. One of the things that I loved learning was how to contour. I really really struggled with this at home. I think she did an incredible job of showing me what part of the face to apply and different popular styles of application and how much to blend. Now since I had two lessons I was able to try two different "looks". We did a more natural look and a more glam look. I was able to try different foundations and eye pallets and moisturizers which was great. Color matching was not a huge part of the course since she is a professional, I learned that they do mix foundations to get the exact color they need, something I'm not going to be doing at home but was very cool to see. That being said I was able to see what brand and texture of foundation I liked since I got to try two different ones, one with each lesson. She also incorporated make up I have on hand showing me how best to apply the make up I already own. She was readily able to answer every single question I had, explaining why we do things one way or another. I ultimately learned so so much from her and I would totally do it again. And I did it in a fun and engaging environment. After her lessons I literally bought some of the products she uses so I could keep practicing. I believe I spent about $500 for two lessons. And while it may seem like much off the bat, it's really a small price to pay for getting to feel absolutely beautiful whenever I put on make up. read more

Diep was my hair and makeup artist for my wedding in April 2024. Throughout the entire process, Diep was sweet and very responsive to all my questions and requests. I also booked a hair/makeup trial with Diep (which I highly recommend!!) during which she incorporated many of my hair and makeup inspirations. Diep kindly explained each step and ensured I was comfortable and happy with the style. Ultimately, I had a change in wedding dress style, which Diep happily accommodated by adjusting the makeup and hair style to match my dress. Despite having sent her only a few inspiration photos, Diep nailed it perfectly. It was exactly as I wanted, and I received nothing but compliments throughout the entire day. Diep pays great attention to detail, ensuring you look perfect for your special day. For anyone seeking an awesome, professional, and sweet HMUA, I highly recommend Diep. Diep did my hair and makeup for my city hall civil ceremony in May 2024! I'm not usually someone who wears makeup so I really wanted someone who could do a soft glam look and was familiar with asian features. She did an absolutely fantastic job at that, despite the fact that I wasn't able to do a trial since I booked her so last minute. Throughout the process, Diep was very sweet and easy to talk to. She showed up early despite the fact that we already had an early start time. Overall, I was really happy with the results of both my hair and my makeup and it all held up well throughout the day. I would definitely highly recommend her to any other brides out there looking for someone to help them feel special on their big day! read more

If you're reading this review as a couple searching for a photographer/videographer/HMU team, I'm telling you now that your search is over. Diep and Chris are it. As a bride, looking for someone to capture the wedding (and also looking for someone who would help me look my most beautiful) gave me the most anxiety. At the end of the day, the pictures and videos would be the only things we had to look back on, so it was of the utmost importance to us to find a team that would beautifully encapsulate our day. Enter Chien and Buffle. I had initially found them because I was searching for a HMUA that was skilled specifically in bridal Asian makeup. Diep is not only one of the very few MUA in the Bay Area with this specialization, but her work is by far the most stunning. She knew exactly how to accentuate my features without overpowering or aging my face with heavy, Western-style makeup. Ultimately, I wanted to look like the best version of myself while still recognizing my own face in the mirror. She perfectly accomplished that beautiful, fresh, dewy look that I've always wanted. To top it off, I was actually really sick on my wedding day and she made me look as if I was in the best peak condition of my life. I'd slept poorly for weeks, was on a bunch of medication that made me feel horrible, AND had started my menstrual cycle that morning. When she found out that I had started my period, she immediately texted her husband and asked him to bring every period product imaginable to the hotel. On top of ALL of this, because we had booked their all day, red diamond package coverage, Diep stayed with me for a large majority of the day and was constantly fixing my hair and makeup to ensure I looked perfect for every picture. This is NOT something that is industry standard by any means. Most HMUAs are done with services after completing the bridal services in the morning and they'll leave a touch up kit. Diep stayed for nearly the entire wedding to help with my touch ups and to also assist her husband and videographer, Chris. For that alone, I have to recommend booking their red diamond package. The pricing was more than reasonable and the value for what services we received was unlike anything else we were able to find in this area. Chris is the videographer in this team-- we just received our wedding video last week and I can't even put into words how extraordinary his storytelling capabilities are. The video perfectly captured us as a couple and our story. He made it personable, incorporated music that was special to us, and found a way to weave the ceremony into the background of the video, while still making it the heartbeat of the entire work. We laughed, teared up, broke out into goosebumps-- it was everything a wedding video should be, but oftentimes isn't. Sentimental, funny, and a perfect time capsule of us as a couple. Diep and Chris, if you're reading this, we are forever grateful to you both! You went more than above and beyond-- you went to space and back for us. Thank you so much. To everyone else, don't hesitate, breathe easy, and contact them-- you've found THE team. read more

I was back and forth on doing my own hair/makeup or hiring but I caved and hired Diep for my wedding. I was drawn towards her portfolio of Asian style make up since it was similar to how I do my own. Because I didn't book a trial, we were adjusting my makeup as we were going. She was very patient with me and was able to take feedback on what I knew wouldn't work will with my oily/watery eyes. My hair and makeup stayed in place all day and my bridesmaid looked beautiful. Diep made my morning stress free and we got several compliments (: read more

TL;DR - decent makeup, push back on what you request, miscommunication on pricing, and unfortunately unfriendly/defensive service the day of :/ I want to start off saying Diep seemed sweet during the trial. I really debated writing this or not because I know Diep is relatively new at this but after a few weeks of contemplating my experience I figured I should give my honest experience so others aren't surprised... My trial with Diep started off pretty well, she was extremely friendly and did a face mask and moisturizer to start. As it went on, she told me my eyes were uneven and that it would be better with double eyelid tape, which I told her I was OK to try. Eyelid tape aside, I thought the makeup was pretty, but there was trouble with applying falsies on my eyes and my eyes got extremely irritated; despite that she left it as is until Chris, her husband suggested making it more comfortable for me (I really appreciated this). Onto the hair, I asked for an updo and she told me after attempting it that my hair won't look good with my peekaboo highlights so she switched to hollywood waves instead which I obliged too, but was truthfully disappointed because the reference photo I shared vs I looked like was different. Prior to the day of the wedding banquet, we had chatted about adding make up services for my mother and mother in law (we chatted about this a few months prior) - a few days prior she told me I didn't add it and would need to charge me her increased rate but offered to lower it slightly as a compromise. I showed her screenshots of our conversation where we had discussed and agreed to add my mother and mother in law, but decided to agree to the new rate as I wanted to support her as she built out her business. If it had ended at that, it would have been a 4 star review instead of 3, so why the 3 stars? Unfortunately it was due to how she treated me the day of my wedding. She didn't do any prep or anything, she didn't do the face mask she did for the trial. While she was doing my make up, it wasn't how it looked like during the trial and my friend had pointed out that one eye had more brown than the other, I could immediately sense Diep was irritated as she went silent and wasn't as talkative. I went to look at my makeup later and noticed my blush was much deeper than the trial and my face was patchy from the foundation...I was really sad to start off my wedding day to say the least. Onto my mom, Diep was very short with my mom and didn't communicate much on how she was doing my mom's hairstyle, after my mom requested something different, Diep implied she would need to redo it all over again and didn't want to do that. For context she had told me she was doing a collab shoot so I tried to be mindful of that, but I did notice she was rushing and kept an eye on the time. In the end, I even helped her pack up, carry her items, and tipped her. It was an extremely sad experience because she was very cold and unaccommodating. I think if you're considering her for make up, be sure you are prepared for being pushed back or not getting what you want because she is limited to specific looks and hairstyles. read more

This is a long overdue review, but felt it necessary to share given how happy I was with Chien&Buffle services. I booked Diep to do my hair and makeup for a wedding event in Oakland as I was one of the bridesmaids. She arrived on time and came with everything she needed. Diep got started right away. I told Diep that I had an outdoor photoshoot and a night party so I needed to have my hair and makeup stay the whole day, and Diep made sure it happened . She prep my face really well by moisturizing my skin before putting on makeup. She also ensured that I felt comfortable after putting on false eyelashes. The hair and makeup did last the whole day despite going through the windy outdoor photoshoot and the evening party. I am from San Diego and had a hard time finding and deciding on HMU artist in the Bay Area who knew how to work on Asian skin and could accomplish subtle and natural makeup style. I am so glad I found Diep. Highly recommend! read more

Diep expressed knowledge and pride in her work throughout my overall makeover. She transformed my whole look into a person whom I have forgotten so many years ago. I don't wear makeup and have no routine facial care schedule so I have to admit I was quite nervous and inexperienced with all the products being used. But rest assured Diep repeatedly asked me to trust in her and her abilities to visualize the best look for me using her non sticky non oily liquids, soft as silk powders, and light as feather lashes. To top off my makeover, Diep did my hair with a little updo and let soft curly locks fall to the side of my collar. I received many, many compliments since I was the center of attention, officiating my nephews wedding. I don't believe I have ever felt so beautiful and confident with makeup on until I put my trust in Diep Vuong. Thank you so much read more

I highly recommend Diep for hair and makeup! Thank you so much for making my dream wedding face come true. Diep was my HMUA for a wedding in Paso Robles. Located in LA, I didn't have time for a trial, but Diep made me feel like I could trust her 100%. We discussed what I was looking over text a few weeks before the wedding, and she was an amazing consultant. During the day of the wedding, her team arrived early to set up in the pouring rain despite me and the bridesmaids accidentally oversleeping by 30 min . As any bride knows, wedding planning is extremely stressful. Ours was probably more so due to a last minute rainstorm that left us scrambling to change everything about our outdoor wedding that we spent months planning. I'm not even exaggerating, but I didn't feel ready to be married until when I sat into that chair. Under Diep's capable hands, I felt reassured that everything truly was going to be alright (and honestly, even if everything went to shiet, at least I would look great). Now on to some technicals. Like everyone else already mentioned, she has a great personality! She is sweet and detail oriented. She clearly takes pride in her craft, but is also humble and kind. She has skills. I've had professionally done makeup before, but they all kind of end up artificial and flat looking. She was able to bring out my hooded monolids and give me a nose bridge while still looking very natural in photos. Like an enhanced version of me. She's well versed in natural, luminous (Douyin) looking makeup. She is focused. She kept us on schedule despite starting late (due to us), and even made some last minute touch ups at the request of my and my bridesmaid. And finally she is considerate. She was so kind to my mom. Not only did she listen to what we had to say, she made my mom feel young and beautiful. If you're lookin for a weight lifted off your shoulders, book Chien & Buffle! read more

I had an amazing hair & make-up experience with Diep! I loved the way my make-up looked on the day of the wedding. Diep was very understanding of my specific requests and made sure to tailor my hair & make-up to my specifications. She's nailed the natural make-up look that doesn't make you look too made-up. My make-up stayed on all through the night, and I had NO breakouts the next day! As a bonus, Diep is such a lovely person and her husband Chris was there to entertain me through the otherwise lonely 2 hours. read more

Diep did the makeup for me, my sisters, and my mother on my wedding day. I had never had a good experience with professional makeup and don't wear a lot of makeup myself. The past couple of times I had makeup applied on me by a MUA, I looked like a clown, with how heavy and unnatural it was. I hadn't had time to do a trial with Diep so I was nervous about how it would turn out. After Diep finished with my sister (the first to get in the chair) though, all my fears were gone. She did an amazing job at giving us beautiful, natural looks that enhanced our features but still made us look like ourselves. She did it with minimal input from us and also helped to cover a few tan lines. I never could have imagined such a great experience, and it was a HUGE weight off my mind on my wedding day. Makeup can really make or break your whole wedding day as a bride. Not to mention that she is so sweet and easy to talk to as well. Thank you Diep! read more

Diep did my bridal hair and makeup for me and my mom on my wedding day. Even though we didn't have any trials beforehand, Diep amazed me with her professionalism, makeup skills and knowledges. My wedding started super early in the morning so I had to wake up at 4:30AM to get hair and make up done. Diep showed up on time to set up and prepare everything. She carefully moisturized, prep & primed my skin before putting on the make up. Even though we didn't get lucked out with the weather, my hair and make up were still stayed on so well throughout a long day under 85F heat. Everyone loved my bridal look! It was simple yet so elegant! Diep, I can't thank you so much for making me look so beautiful and amazing on my special day! read more

I booked Chien&buffle hair/makeup service for my city hall civil wedding. Diep did an amazing job on my hair and make up. I met up with her at 7am and she welcomed me to her place. She first put a moisturizing sheet mask on my face and prep my face before putting make up on. I have very dry skin but she moisturized very well so the make up looked great and lasted the whole day without caking or peeling. My hair was still curl after walking outside in the wind as well. Diep listens to what I wanted and did a fantastic job at making me look beautiful. I got many compliments from strangers that day! read more

I just want to say? Wow. Chien & Buffle were incredibly communicative, kind, went above and beyond, and it felt like I was working with friends, not with some random people I employed for my wedding. At first, I only wanted to receive hair and make up for myself, but a tragedy struck my family early on in my wedding planning process. Because of that, I had to delay everything by a couple of months. However, Diep and Chris honored their quoted prices to me and even remembered me almost a year later. When I inquired about their photography and videography services, I found that their prices were out of range for me, however Chris was able to help me customize their packages that fit both with what I wanted and within my budget. Diep was also both experimental but also listened to my whims and requests. She made sure that the looks I referenced matched with my skin and face frame. I felt beautiful in her care. The two were kind, attentive, and strove for perfection. I was so impressed with their work ethics- they are clearly very proud of their product and are incredibly accommodating with my requests. Their personalities meshed incredibly well with my entire wedding party and even managed to charm my difficult-to-please mom (Diep is an angel). I keep using the work "incredible" but that's just what they were. They were flexible, doubled as wedding coordinators on the day of, kept with the timeline, and I felt like I could trust them with so much. They worked well with the rest of the vendors, I heard nothing but compliments about them throughout the entire night, and they stayed further than their contracted time to make sure that the night ended well. I am truly grateful that I met both Chris and Diep, but also their helping hands Markus and Parmveer. The made my day, night, and planning process a fun and comfortable experience. I don't think I would've enjoyed my own wedding as much as I did without them. Thank you so much to Chien & Buffle, you two are wonderful! read more
