Great overall experience from beginning to the end. The timeframe noted for each package initially made me a little nervous that we wouldn't be able to get through everything. I was wrong. We never felt rushed and Dana was more than willing to give us ample time to get all of our poses in. We were also able to look at the photos in real time to make sure we were happy with the shots before we left . She knew how to plan the poses we picked in a specific order to help things go as smooth as possible with a fussy newborn. The hardest part was picking out 5 outfits/sets from the seemingly endless options of backgrounds & adorable newborn outfits she offered at her studio. EXTREMELY FRIENDLY Approachable and friendly. We chatted about family and kids while she photographed. CREATIVE EYE Dana has creative takes and lots of cute props for newborn photos. Photo session moved seamlessly. HAS PRIVATE STUDIO The studio is downstairs of the UHaul rental store. It has snacks which kids will appreciate and keeps them busy in between shots. She has a sofa and chairs which I was able to use for feeding baby. EXPERIENCED WITH NEWBORNS She was swaddling them like a champ. Baby was calm and sleepy the whole time. 21 DAYS TURNAROUND FOR PHOTOS This is her guidance but we got our photos after 26 days. She gave us a preview of photos approximately in one week. ALLOWED MINOR EDITS Dana was accommodating for some minor edits we requested after we received the photos. Just be aware that it will delay receiving your final photos by another few days. We did the maternity photoshoot at her studio. Love that she has an option to get hair and makeup done at her studio too, for the convenience. The hair and makeup artists are great as well. Took about 4 hours in total. We also got newborn photographs done in our home, which was nice as the last thing I wanted to do a week after giving birth was bring the baby out of my house. I was behind in scheduling newborn photography for my son but Danah was open to capturing photos of him. She did a wonderful job capturing photos of him when he was eight weeks old. Dana was incredibly warm and inviting the moment we arrived, helping us find the parking spot and meeting us at it to direct us to her studio. Once we were inside, she told us we can relax on her couch and she could handle our week-old daughter in changing outfits and poses for the photographs. She allowed a short break between poses to let me breastfeed since my daughter was getting a bit fussy, and that helped calm her down to where she was easier to work with for the remainder of the shoot. My husband was also only called over once to hold a branch for one of the backgrounds she had. She also made very pleasant conversation and had plenty of advice and stories to share from her experience as a parent, which we very much appreciated hearing as new parents. It was fairly straightforward to be able to be in contact her and schedule a session around our due date. In our case, our child was almost 2 weeks late and Dana still managed for us to arrange the photoshoot within a week of his birth. We really appreciated her flexibility. Her "in-home" newborn photography package deal is very affordable for the amount of pictures she takes and the 5 different setup you can choose from. I loved the fact that she had the option to come with her own setup to our place; it really took away the burden of having to manage a newborn in an unknown space. I saw Dana's work on instagram and instantly decided to book in-studio newborn session after seeing her gallery. My daughter was born on April 27th and our session was on May 9th. I was debating between at-home and in-studio, and I am glad we went in for the in-studio session. The lighting was great, so it was worth the trip. Dana was so patient and thoughtful.
