This was my first visit here because with a name like 'Misconduct Tavern' I always imagined it to be a hole-in-the-wall, dark & dirty bar. Boy, was I wrong. This place was hoppin'. Very crowded, as it was the Friday before Christmas week. The inside was bright, clean & very inviting. Awful service. It wasn't anywhere near full and our server ignored us. We got an appetizer and after about 45 minutes the server didn't come back to check on us to order the main meal so we just left. She wouldn't acknowledge us after the appetizer and kept walking past us. We ended up trying to close out with the bartender, politely, and he immediately got an attitude before going to get the server for us. Definitely won't come back. read more

My niece's Connecticut driver's license was torn in half by Misconduct Tavern's bouncer, Jay, this evening after she couldn't remember her zip code (she's been living out at Penn State until just recently). Rather than deny her access he intentionally tore her license in half which is willful destruction of property. This was her first time visiting Philadelphia and I am downright embarrassed as a Pennsylvanian. I would not recommend anyone from out of town visiting here lest your personal property be destroyed by a bouncer thinking he has a modicum of authority. Misconduct Tavern is aptly named. read more

It is the nearest sports bar/restaurant to where I live but I can't seem to get myself to come here more frequently. To be fair, it's in an enviable Center City location with a huge space and plenty of TVs, therefore logically should be a desirable spot. However, I find myself coming here with friends when we feel like being lazy or don't want to take the risk of not having a table at another preferred bar. The food is very hit or miss. I'm not a fan of the chicken tenders (overly fried) and as much as I wanted to like the steamed clams, I must have consumed 2 days worth of sodium in this medium-sized bowl. However, the roast pork sandwich my friend got was very delicious. I guess you just need to know what to order here to avoid rookie mistakes. Service is on the slower side (but never rude!) but I'm just going to assume maybe each waiter/waitress has to cover a large number of tables? read more

If you are looking for a place to watch sports this is the place to go!! Misconduct has a ton of TV's around and a massive bar to give great sports bar vibes. They have tarps up to separate tables but some were still too close together for my liking during COVID. We went on the first weekend of March Madness and I don't think they were fully prepared for the crowd. The place got a little rowdy and some tables weren't adhering to COVID rules. However, the drink buckets were well priced and the food was very good! The hot chicken sandwich was amazing and the fries that came with it were very salty. The sliders were a little to well done for me but the misconduct sauce, similar to thousand island dressing, kept it moist. The pretzels were the best and we wound up getting 2 orders of them! The cheese sauce is light but very tasty. This is a fun happening sports bar and we will be back for more games!! read more

Never disappoints and this time I was blown away by their scallop burger! So much so that I didn't even take a picture because I was busy inhaling it! They have this colossal "burger" made of chopped scallops lightly breaded and grilled to perfection topped with bacon sitting on top of grilled asparagus spears. The taste was amazing total freshness of the sea scallops! I need to get back down to the city for another one. Oh I can't forget to mention we started with the jumbo grilled buffalo wings. Misconduct is great for a beer and a burger any night of the week. I tend to try to go earlier for happy hour, since the late night crowd gets a little bro-y. Would recommend any of the burgers. Salads are a little iffy, so it's more of a true pub food place. The staff are nice, and my water has stayed full the last few times I've gone. And I loved that they did a fundraiser for CHOP this summer! (It was a "fun run" that went between the two locations, which was super cool!) read more

Even before I ever set foot in Misconduct it was one of my favorite ever bar names in Philly. But being the slacker that I am and given the Rittenhouse Square areas VAST bar competition, it took catching up with my friend before she set sail for a move to Hawaii to finally get me to go and see what this bar had to offer. And I'm kind of disappointed that it took so long, because Misconduct was definitely the beer centered bar with some decent cocktails and pub food goodness that I expected it to be. While I wouldn't completely consider it a beer haven. The rotating mix of 12 drafts and 50+ bottles does give it an amicable list, especially when you factor in the $4 drafts on Happy Hours and drink specials that they offer on a regular basis. As for food the jumbo wings with dry rubs easily contended with some of the other best wings candidates in the city. And the house made beer battered fried pickles definitely made for an interesting bite. But overall the menu offers some well rounded and interesting pub fare. Upon entry don't be swayed because Misconduct is definitely larger than it looks, even more so if/when the extension construction that was going on has completed. And it can be a solid destination for Phillies games. read more

Misconduct Tavern makes many Philadelphia lists of best spot to watch a game. I can see that...depending on where in the bar you are located in the bar The game day vibe is great throughout the establishment, and at least during my visit, rival fans were able to stand side by side in peace. Some of the TVs just happen to be a little small. Like with most sports bars, it was also pretty crowded during the Eagles game. It was great that they had TV designated to non-Eagles games and had the Eagles game on the large screen and some scatter screens, but if you weren't in view of the larger TVs or right by the smaller screens, you may have well been in the nosebleeds at the Linc. As far as beer and food the selection went beyond a typical sports bar. I was enjoying various IPAs and pumpkin drafts throughout my visit, and got to try some of my husband's Hot Capocollo Sandwich. It was a house cured pork shoulder with fresh mozzarella, onion and a type of roast pepper. It was well behind your typical pork sandwich and rather enjoyable. They also offer game day beer specials. Not surprisingly, the service wasn't quick during a game. It's frustrating but hard to place fault during what is probably one of the busiest times of the week. It is what it is, so come prepared to wait a little. The servers may have been busy but they weren't overwhelmed and were pleasant to interact with. So I was all set to give Misconduct a 3 star review based on the TV situation, but I think I'm going to have to bump them up to a 4 when you take into account the overall package and add in realistic expectations of a sports bar on game day. read more

4 stars for the mac and cheese, 2 for the burger. The mac and cheese is made with fontina here and starts at $6.50. Then comes the fun part of picking your add ins. The prices on those start at 50 cents for things like onions and to up to $4.50 for steak. I chose bacon ($1.50) and sundried tomatoes (50 cents). The plate came out sizzling hot, smelling good, and looking like the congestive heart failure I was hoping for. I had been holding my breath, hoping that the outside would be slightly burnt, and was pleased to see that it was. The bacon added some saltiness that might have been lacking otherwise. The noodles were cooked well, the cheese was stringy and melty, and the portion was huge, it was well worth the price. The Misconduct burger, ordered with bacon and cheese, was not as successful. The meat was overcooked, and the size of of the bun suggested a much larger patty than was presented. Even with the tasty fries that came with it, this was definitely not worth the $10 price tag, however, come in on a Monday and burgers are half price, which would justify ordering this a whole lot more. read more

Get the basil lemonade! What a great happy hour place!!! This place is like a more spacious version of Alpha/Devils Alley. And they actually have semi healthy and cheap appz! Also, the specialty cocktails are just $5...and the basil lemonade one was amazing!!! Also, the avocado fries were sooo good, never had them before, but can't wait to try them again. Plus the chicken tenders were some of the lightest and moistest...ever! They were not super greasy or covered in yucky bread coating. Loved them. Although the french and honey mustard dipping sauces were pretty terrible, the BBQ was great. Wasn't too much of a fan of the edamame because it was swimming in beer juice, so it wasn't as dry and salty as I like. The place got PACKED around 5:30-6 so make sure to get there early to grab a table. Plus, a great crowd of younger professionals, and they have big TVs for the sports liking people. PS. Watched the Eagle's game on a Sunday here with several friends. It was the perfect amount of crowded - enough people were there for it to feel lively, but you didn't have to shove past people to walk to the bathroom. I like the layout of this place - when you walk up the stairs to where the hostess is, there's a long stretch of a bar with tables to the left, with plenty of walking room space in between and to the right there's a section with larger tables and booth seats. I'm a budding sports fan and there were plenty of TV's so you could watch from any seat. Our waitress was REALLY fast and attentive and the food comes out REALLY, really hot. FYI. Drinks were medium-level strength and the food is good for bar food. We had chicken fingers, chicken wings and a burger with fries. I don't have anything 'wow' worthy to say about this place, but nothing about it was disappointing either! I did appreciate the fast service and attentiveness considering how many people were there. read more

I love this place. It's easily forgotten when its right around the corner from Good Dog which gets all the attention, but honestly, sometimes I'd rather go to Misconduct!! The beer selection is great, always rotating their kegs, and the bottle selection is actually better than good dog, IMO. You can also get beer flights, if you aren't sure which draft to try! While hanging out with friends in Rittenhouse Square yesterday Misconduct came up when a couple of us discussed how we wanted Mac and Cheese. We quickly decided that Misconduct would be the perfect place for dinner. We arrived with a party of 6 and a baby. We were immediately seated because the place was empty, which is the best part about dining on a summer Sunday in the city. The menu has a lot of different options and our waiter was patient but attentive. I ordered a cocktail with Tropical in the title, which was very delicious but clearly had a ton of Sprite and Pineapple Juice and not so much alcohol. For my entree, I ordered the Grilled Cheese be Guacamole and a side of Mac and Cheese to split with a friend. The grilled cheese was good. There were three types of cheese in it, and it was a little disappointing because the flavors were not very distinct. It felt like there was only one cheese. There was bacon on the sandwich as well, which was cooked to perfection. The bread was a little bit burnt. The guac was definitely the best part! The Mac and Cheese was pretty delicious. I loved the flavor of the dish and there were options to add anything you wanted to it. Overall, it was a pretty great experience at Misconduct. read more

My friend lives in Old City and I live in Fitler Square so we figured Broad would be a good meeting point to settle on a spot for happy hour, and ended up at Misconduct. Misconduct has great happy hour Specials! Draught beer, cocktails, and wine are all half off from 5-7. They also have daily food specials. I went with a mahi mahi hot dog and some oysters with wasabi caviar. It was all really good. The hot dog had a mild seafood flavor to it and it was covered in a beer cheese sauce and caramelized onions so you really can't go wrong there. My oysters were good too, and the wasabi caviar is awesome. I would love to have it on top of sushi instead of the regular tobiko. The service was friendly and the waitress was helpful with her recommendations. I will definitely be back. read more

Really excellent ambiance (sports bar with huge TVs above the bar), big two-level dining space with plenty of bar stools/tables and booths, and packed just enough to make you enjoy good beer, good food, and good crowd of 20-40-somethings. We went for happy hour and really enjoyed the drink specials. I ordered the dark and stormy, which was served in a mason jar. Although there is no food specials for their happy hour, the appetizers were affordable at regular price, and they came piping hot and tasty. What did we get? Onion rings and avocado fries--highly recommended! The onion rings were small fat curls fried to perfection and the avocado fries were a great finger food to accompany the drinks---all for such reasonable prices ($7.50 and $5, respectively). The server was really attentive and friendly, offering to replenish drinks and checking in on us often but not necessarily annoyingly often! Random aside: They even have several individual unisex bathrooms, which is unusual but cool. Misconduct Tavern is close to everything, has great food and service, and is definitely worth the visit. read more

Misconduct is a great center city happy hour spot. The food is awesome and their specials never disappoint. Their happy hour is half off SELECT drafts. On the draft list, you can tell which ones are on special by the (HH) next to them. I've noticed over the last few months that less and less of the draft list are half off at happy hour....which does sadden me. The mac n cheese is always delicious! Be careful though, it can get pricey the more stuff you add to it. All in all, the atmosphere is nice. The food is good. And the drink specials are okay. read more

I've heard lots about Misconduct. It's half-off happy hour is a draw for me, but you have to wonder why a restaurant has to offer such a deal to put people in seats. Still, a $4 Hop Slam is unbelievable. I need to visit again, but they were out of the oysters I wanted, and the roast pork sandwich was bland and flavorless really--the long hots had lost their heat, the provolone was minimal, and the broccoli rabe was chewy and sticky. The barkeep was sweet, but not too attentive (took me awhile to get a water, and when I did, it wasn't without ice like I requested). Good for a cheap drink at 5, but not to eat. Let me begin by apologizing for a "friend" who puked inside the place around 2am last month. I don't know the guy. The bartenders did cut off my friend so I will acknowledge that the staff was very attentive. The rest of the staff was kind and understood the problem and did not force us to leave or yell so I appreciate that. Now, I've been Misconduct for a few events and I have been to the private area downstairs a few times. The private area is great for large parties (20+) and has a separate bar. MisConduct Tavern is very spatious and the atmosphere is great for a good, chill night of drinking. The bathrooms are actually nice and kept clean (it's a bar so you don't expect the bathroom to be clean). Now for the bad...the food is a bit disappointing especially since I can walk to a lot of places from this location. I would just get a burger with fries and not much else here. read more

Went here on a Friday night and really enjoyed the vibe. We sat in the bar area, but were able to find a table without any wait. It was pretty loud between the music and people, but a great atmosphere. Drinks were a bit steep - We got their $6 ciders. We really liked their Salmon Sliders - they came with aioli sauce, a nice contrast to the salmon, and served on mini brioche buns. Their mac n cheese is also really good - we added sundried tomatoes and wished we'd added something with a bit of a kick instead. Service was great, although we waited quite a bit for our food.
