I absolutely love this place. It has classic old-school Mom and Pop vibes. Unfortunately, in good conscience, I can no longer recommend them. The sheer amount of salt they add to the food shows a lack of awareness and care for those eating it. In the Black and Brown community, our health is already precarious, and repeated requests for no salt have been ignored without regard for our wellbeing. While I love supporting local businesses, our health is irreplaceable, so I have to say pass on the full meal. The service was good and the gentleman was helpful with all my questions. The only area I was disappointed in was the actual tacos. Especially, the tortillas! Sometimes it risky to retry places under new ownership expecting the same food. So I had this place years ago and the tacos were really good. That being said I went today for a couple burritos and a it's by far one of the most bland burritos I've ever had. Not a bad flavor but 80% rice 15% meat 5% cilantro. The rice was borderline hard most likely from being cooked yesterday or the day before and since it had more rice than anything it left much to be desired. Would I go back for tacos? Probably not. Bad service, received the wrong order after waiting 30minutes for two burritos, got home and bit into my burrito, noticed it was not what I had ordered. I have to drive back and tell them the order was wrong, he doesn't seem to care, takes another 15 minutes to remake the burrito, when he could have made it and corrected it within 1min. Have been coming here for years and will not come back after this incident. I had a leunga burrito and it ranks as fair ... the place was well worn and a bit poorly kept. It was so-so and I regret to say I'd recommend you pass because there are clearly better places to risk dining at. On the PLUS side - the location is rather convenient - it lies on Rosecrans so when heading to the freeway this way you can pass by easily. The staff were reasonably cordial - and parking was not so tough - but if the other businesses were open I can see how it might get crowded? The asada meat tasted generic and lacked flavor but I still ate them. Its the Alpastor that made me want to ask for my money back. It was truly disgusting . No flavor and it tasted tarty. Heres a hint, meat shouldnt be tarty. Do yourself a favor and skip this place and if your willing to make the drive for better, fresher, less expensive tacos head over to el Antojito on figueroa and taste the difference.
