I LOVED how the sales associate did a quick intake process asking what fabrics/styles I enjoy and then took my measurements before making recommendations. I chose (2) outfits but, ended up only selecting one as the alteration process would've taken longer than I needed. I pointed out a few stains on the garment and the staff was very helpful in attempting to clean them before steaming and placing it in my car. When I arrived at the venue however I noticed that the outfit had many more stains, including the skirt -- everything from pen markings (standard alterations process) to dirt, debris, and food could be found on the outfit. I could not return the outfit since I was in a different city so, was very disappointed given the price (450$+). The lady helping me get dressed onsite said my dress had likely already been worn either in a show and/or purchased by someone else and resold. Pretty upsetting. All in all, the selection is vast but the prices start around 350$ so I would be optimistic yet cautious in purchasing from here.

Few of the longtime employees remaining truly understand what has made Clothes Horse a Dallas institution. They greet customers, offer assistance, acknowledge people when they enter, and create the kind of upscale shopping experience that keeps customers returning to this gem of a store. Unfortunately, some of the newer employees don't seem to share that same customer-service mindset. The atmosphere feels different, and some of the attention to customers that once set the store apart appears to be fading. With that said, my loyalty to Clotheshorse runs deep, and I continue to have great respect for the manager and the few longtime sales associates. I'm hopeful that the store can recapture the level of service that made it so special for so many years. Against my better judgment, I let her take the other items. Fast-forward about a week, and I decided to pay a small fee to retrieve my items from the store. Once again, I was promptly and warmly greeted by the store staff, who directed me to the appraiser again. It was the same appraiser that was present previously. Again, my presence is an inconvenience to her. I tell her why I'm there, and she tells me to go to the store portion. I tell her they directed me back here, so she calls the store staff via her phone and refers to me as a "little girl." I went back to the store portion and the same staff apologized for the miscommunication, and began helping me retrieve the items I had previously agreed to consign. The remainder of my interaction with her was very pleasant. It is quite disheartening writing a review like this, considering my only reason for doing so was the negative experiences I had with a single person.

I came in a day early to pick up my tux and did not like the jacket's fit. Don remeasured and had a proper-fitting jacket for the next day. All the other items fit well. I felt the jacket and pants were slightly on the worn side- not bad, but not as crisp and sharp as I expected. I could see this was a rental by the way the sleeves and pant legs are altered. I haven't rented a tux in a long time, as I have had my own for many years, but sadly, I "outgrew" my most recent. So that is to say I've been spoiled by custom-fit tuxes since after I married 40+ years ago, until this one. Maybe I'm being too harsh? I will still recommend them, just be sure you go a day before you need the tux to pick it up in case it needs tweaking.
