This mall is clearly struggling, and it's apparent by the dirty carpeting in the main mall area, and the lack of AC throughout. My friend wanted to stop at Dillard's as he heard they were having a sale and was in the market for a new wallet. The layout is confusing as it looks choppy like there are only certain entrances/exits and you have to vacate to get to other parts of the mall. Carpet is very old and you can tell it is struggling as there weren't many customers in the mall. Um, how can I say this?...No, no, just NO! When we moved into the area, I was clueless about which spots in Irving are safe and which are not. I went to this mall, by myself, at night. I mean, how was I to know I could have easily have gotten mugged that night?! A few days later, I was talking with a neighbor and in passing mentioned that I had visited the Irving Mall. He promptly replied, "You went to that mall, alone and AT NIGHT?" This was my BY days (Before Yelp) and I am just sharing this with those who are not familiar with Irving. I wish I had know. The only saving grace for the mall is the Dillard's outlet. I will shop at the store during the day and make sure to lock my car and go in and out quickly. Maybe my review is a bit too high but throughout my visit at the mall, I was really satisfied. What I like about this mall was the variety of stores it has. Most of the stores are not name brand (which isn't too bad) but I think it's unique how a mall has a souvenir store, a gym, a game room, a tattoo shop of all things which is a first for me. I do agree, the mall was horribly lit and felt very grungy but thankfully I didn't stay too late inside. The staff here at the various shops are nice. The layout of the mall seems kind of bizarre. Parking was actually really tough even though the mall didn't seem busy. This place definitely needs more stores but I really enjoyed my visit. read more

Visting Dallas área and was looking for the Easter bunny. This was one of the closest mall to me with an Easter bunny available. The mall itself is a bit rundown but they do have a huge selections of stores. They also have a chu chu train for little ones. The Easter bunny was cute and the prices were reasonable. Not a harbinger of things to come, but an Irvinger of things to come. One of many massive malls all over the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and this one is similarly busy and full of high-end stores like Stonebriar in Frisco or Willow Bend in Plano or whatever. More like those than the high-end Galleria and Northpark. Not a bad Mall, but parking and getting in and out can be annoying especially during busy time. read more

Ohh Chile' the ghetto! I'm here now, and and I'm stuck downstairs. I came to the mall with my child in a stroller, not knowing that the escalator to go upstairs does not work, neither does any of the elevators. I was advised to take the stairs. or walk outside up the hill to get to an entrance into the top floor. The only elevator they have is in the Macy's, and, like I said it is out of order. Most of the stores here are out of business, some of the machines are out of order. The only reason I would come to this mall is because of the gym and the movie theater. I love my Irving mall. The stores are a little run down and so are the people, but this is my local mall so I end up coming in at least 2x a week. The best part about the mall is the AMC movie theater that has an awesome full bar. Like seriously, they serve liquor, make margaritas, and my favorite make a mean pina colata! The anchor stores used to be Dillars, Burlington, and Sears, but Sears is now closed. There's a GNC, Vitamin World, Trampoline park, and fitness connection all in the mall. Lots of cool, small indy stores too. Tons of weird finds. The mall's not fancy but its a good enough place to go to kill time and people watch when bored. Usually I'll end up spending some money at Los Lupes or the food court. Come find me! read more

Came to the mall yesterday to get my nails done at LA nails and decided to walk around after they were finished. Irving Mall does have a lot of major stores--Macy' s, Sears, Victoria Secret, Express, Payless and then a lot of unknown stores as well. I love that they now have a Miss A store! Everything in this store is a $1 and is of great quality. They have make up, facial masks, nail polish, hair clips, scarves, jewelry, and so many other items. If you are looking for a gift this is a great spot to go. They also have a AMC movie theatre that has a bar and comfy seats. The theatre and the mall are usually pretty empty making it easy to walk around and get in and get what you need. Unfortunately like many malls a few stores have closed and have been replaced by some local stores, but this helps the local economy and gives small business owners a chance! I definitely still recommend coming to Irving Mall for your shopping needs. This mall is still thriving. And round the mall there are tons of stores, such as 5 and below, Party City, and Beals. So, it is definitely worth your time! read more

I went hear to pick up something from hottopic. I was excited to go because I love malls! But when I walked in I just got an erie vibe. Dim lights, very little people, etc. I honestly felt anxious and unsafe the entire time. I felt like something was behind me and I got really light headed there. The stores are decent. Remember in the movie Mallrats when they are talking about the good mall and the other mall? Yeah, well Irving Mall has moved from the good category to the other. There's a Dillard's outlet that's not open on Mondays and closes at 7 p.m. There's a Macys, Journeys, Victoria's Secret, American Eagle, etc. But then there's a lot of niche stores. There's really big store called Shopper's World that smells like my Nana, not in a good way. There are some good and interesting food options. And there's a fitness club and you can get your taxes done. I'm not sure this place is going to make it much longer, but it's clean and safe. read more

I guess it depends on what kind of mall you're looking for...to me it seems like a very confused experience to me. The food court is small and sad, there is a huge dead area on the west side of the mall, and overall the mall seems old, worn and dated. While you walk around the mall, you'll start to see almost completely different mall ideas combined into building, let me explain. There's a short,dark and wide carpeted portion, there's a tall, bright tiled portion, a narrow dark hallway, and finally a two-story mall all in one building. (Just see the pics for reference). FYI, the traffic in the area (Beltline) is atrocious. It's not a bad mall, but there are better malls out there in the metroplex. read more

This poor mall needs major help from the management. Many empty shops. Most of the stores that are there are bargain bin set-ups. On the up side: the Macy's and Sears are quite good and the food court, while small, is clean. The Irving Mall AMC Theater has recently been updated and is nice. You know, I actually sometimes enjoy coming here if I want something really low-key, don't feel like being at fancy-pants Northpark Mall, and don't plan on purchasing anything of long-lasting quality. I hate seeing what used to be a thriving mall fall further and further down the scale. Management should bring out someone skilled in urban planning to see what can be done to revitalize this mall and area. read more

Don't let the haters that posted negative reviews of this mall deter you from visiting - this place is pretty awesome. There are some strange, ghetto-fabulous stores, and frankly, I think they represent the Irving Mall well. Irving is a melting pot with a very urban vibe, and some stores at the Irving Mall reflect that. These particular stores remind me of shops I saw while visiting Manhattan. The Irving Mall is funky - in a good way. If funk isn't your thang, there is Macy's, Dillards, Victoria's Secret, Areopostale, American Eagle, Champs, Express, Hot Topic, Sears, Spencers, and Zales. There are a lot of shoe shops, so this is definitely a good place to shop if you need some new kicks. There are about three Journey's stores, a Payless, and several others. There is a playground area if you need a place to take your rugrats during crappy weather days, and they were setting up a Santa area when I was there last week. Yes, this mall is relatively empty - and this is great. Do you really want to fight a bunch of mall-rats for a pair of panties at Vicky's Secretion? Methinks not. I've lived in Irving for about 15 years since my move from Hawai'i and I can tell you that visiting our mall will be a waste of your time. Even "brand name" stores have very little to offer: Express, VS, American Eagle, etc. Express is like this mall's Versace and ladies, they took out our section about 2 years ago. Even though I live in the area, I'd rather take the drive to Northpark center, The Parks mall in Arlington or Grapevine mills mall. This place should have been taken out a long time ago. read more

So I had to go to Irving to pick up my car (long story). This was my first and probably last trip to this area, so I'm glad I passed up the thrills of poorly assembled rides at the random parking lot carnival in favor of this "mall." OMG - there is a Dillard's Discount Store which I didn't know existed. I decided to do a walk through and actually saw some things worth looking at (like work dresses I just paid full price for at 70% off) but don't expect to try anything on - everything was moved to one floor and dressing room space is limited. Ended up with the cutest fitted black suede jacket I didn't need - $350 marked down to $80, yasss! Lots of good shoes too, Sam Edelman even! I didn't see any jewelry/accessories which made me sad because regular Dillard's carries Badgley Mischka and if I found it on sale I'd buy all of it. I'm assuming it's due to the high potential for theft. The plain clothed security guy was pretty obvious while making his rounds. After that I wanted to see more and I want to help you to see it too...remember that episode of the Simpsons where they go to that sad old mall where half the stores are closing and Lisa complains about eels in the photobooth? This was that. I mean Seph Lawless is probably already planning the photo shoot. I found a place to get the perfect sparkly quinceanera dress or transform into a fairy princess (I considered it), a Sears, a jewelry store boasting "credito facil", a gym, and the most random food court ever where I was majorly maddogged by an employee with overdone winged eyeliner and ginormous fake lashes. She was trapped behind the counter so it didn't seem worth a conversation. The cherry on top - a tattoo shop. In the mall. It's called Inkonformity which may be witty but I don't get it. I watched from a distance to see what was going on in there. I don't get the decor either but they had what appeared to be trophies and lots of customers so good for them. There is a store to have keys made. The clerk was sleeping in a chair with his feet on the counter. I guess he realized he was replaced by a machine at Walmart :( Oh, there is also a Macy's but every Macy's has been on a downward spiral the last 10+ years so I didn't bother. Be careful in the parking lot, it's so full of potholes I parked far away and got my steps in. Next to the mall there is something called Shoe Carnival. Sounds fun. Do not go alone if you are a woman. I used to live and work in Irving around 2010. Had a guy follow me in his car while I was walking in the parking lot and pull his you know what out. Before that I used to go to the nail salon there. When i was sitting on the massage chair, the nail tech turned it on which makes you shake, and I had to turn it off when I noticed some old man had been standing on the other side of the glass window and was just staring at me. So yeah, avoid going solo to this place if you are a female. It was pretty bad then, I can't imagine how terrible this place is now. read more

This mall has never impressed me much. In passing I think I've been here maybe three times. The people and most of the sales associates working in the stores are rude and so ghetto. Lacks enthusiasm and hospitality. My stop here on this day was because it was the first mall heading to our destination point and I had to pick-up a few last minute items that I could only get at a major department store (Macy's, Dillards etc.). Parking on the end by Dillards and running in I was shocked to find out that was a clearance store without a makeup counter, "NO FASHION FAIR OR MAC"!! WTH?! As I quickly made my way over to Macy's I noticed designer items in Dillards that were marked at 50% off, now that will be worth another visit at a later date. Finally, reaching Macy's this store just seemed so different and the vibe was more on an outlet feel. Damn! Is this whole mall filled with outlets?? I was so lost and confused. After pulling my wondering mind together and trying to find the cosmetic counter for me with every sigh of fustration....."NO FASHION FAIR OR MAC", PERIOD IN THIS MALL AT ALL!! Being informed of this by the sales associate. Do they not know that most Divas of color wear only three brands of quality retail makeup and thats Fashion Fair, MAC and Shiseido?! I wanted to go to this mall today because I was simply curious by the reviews on here, and I find myself loving malls. The malls here in Fort Worth are decent (Hulen and Ridgmar), so I guess I should've known this mall would not be up to what I'm used to. Such as the fact that there is not an official food court anywhere in this mall. There is a Great Cookies Of America, A pretzel place, and a Mexican restaurant. That's it. There's no official area for food with seating and a variety of 10 places of different fast food restaurants like you'd normally see in a mall. This is the very first time I've ever stepped into a mall without a food court. And if you're looking for one of those mall directory things inside the mall showing you what's where, don't waste your time. There isn't anything telling you what's where. You will also not see many stores you are familiar with. (There are not many chain stores so to say). Some identifiable stores that are in normal malls are: American Eagle, Aeropostale, Journey, The Childrens Place, Fredericks, Victoria Secret, Macy's Dillards, Sears and a few others. Besides that, it's pretty cheapy. Fredericks, one of the only stores I recognized from Hulen Mall, is going out of business with a huge sale, and I counted about 3 or 4 kiosks in total. There's no Forever 21, Bath And Body Works, Gap, etc. I heard there was a Barnes and Noble here a couple years back that obviously is long gone. The anchors include: Macys, Dillards, Sears, Burlington Coat Factory and "Shoppers World". Macy's, Dillards and Sears all anchor Hulen Mall and Ridgmar Mall, so that's no shock or difference to me. I have no problem with Burlington, in fact I shop at the one in Fort Worth often, but I have never seen a Burlington as a Mall anchor. And 'Shoppers World' looks quite Walmart-y if you ask me. To make extra money, they also had added many little rides and things of the sorts like the "Hurricane Stimulator" in the middle of the aisles in place of kiosks. This mall just isn't up to basic standards. It's carpeted, and most likely has not been updated since it was built. I just can't see myself coming here often to hang out or shop, as everything that's worth coming for is already at my local malls or I could shop at Grapevine Mills. read more

Come watch a mall die before your very eyes! Most of the entrances are closed at this place, so check before you park. If you look at the mall directory, most of the larger areas say "Coming Soon." C'mon Irving Mall. You and I both know that's a lie. That Barnes and Noble you see is just a mirage. Don't let it trick you into driving up. I think this place is mostly used for just meeting up. There's all sorts of cars cruising through the parking lot, oblivious to roads. If you step in through Macy's (which is still authentic) and walk into the mall, all you have to do is take one look left, and one look right. Yep. That's it. You can take the escalator up to walk a lap if you should desire. Looks like they have a barber shop and a hair college upstairs. Couple nail salons. Movie theater. A kiosk where you can dip an ice cream bar. A Texas souvenir store. A sit-down restaurant with the most bored employees I've ever seen in my life. A threading salon. The only plus side is that you can get a few deals. The Dillard's is basically a Dillard's outlet. Every rack has a giant yellow sign with exclamation points. The mall's shoe stores keep threatening to go out of business, so you can get hooked up with one of those "Buy One Get One Half Off" deals. read more

I absolutely love this store! (To be honest, it's the ONLY reason I come to the Irving Mall these days.) Staff is always friendly, I never feel like I'm being watched and profiled. After walking around the mall today, I felt like I was at Valley View Mall. Same kind of dilapidation, emptiness, and a sense that this mall used to be hopping at some point in time. This mall has similar Department stores including Sears, Macy's and a Dillard's. The food court...its just sad. I even wonder if the Simon Company even owns this mall anymore. I was scared to go here based on the reviews, but this is a pretty decent mall. Just 1 floor, but it has all the major chains - Macy's, Footlocker, Barnes & Noble. First thing I noticed was the carpeted floors throughout the mall. That's the first sign of a ghetto mall. But looks aren't everything. It's big, and has some really nice stores. Macy's is big with me. There was some kinda furniture store which was neat to walk through. Big Sketchers store. Footlocker. The nicest Barnes and Noble I've seen in a while (elevated food area was nicely done). It has a movie theater (the mall, not Barnes and Noble). I thought it was pretty decent. Easy to get to right off the main drag (or second main drag of Irving, I suppose). I'll be going here again. read more
