I am like most people- a fan of Macy's. Especially during sales. But, goodness, this Macy's is a mess! First, it is located in the Irving Mall, which is not a plus. The selection in this Macy's is limited and the store itself is messy and cluttered. Items you see online does not exist in this Macy's. Honestly, I am surprised they are still open. Today is 9/3/23 Our visit was like this.. We went because my husband was looking for jeans and polo tees (Ralph Lauren) We'll turns out they don't have polo for men. Anywho this is funny on our part we were looking in the boys section (they had polo) and I told my hubby maybe the biggest boy size would fit him.. next thing you know a short "security" pops up out of nowhere and grabs the shirt from us saying she needs to put a lock on the tee.. she takes forever, then she tells us we're in the boy section that the men section is on the other side... we told her we knew that but my husband wanted to try it on which first of all shouldn't even have to be explained... okay we grab two polos and continue on... oh and just to say my husband is not the tallest or widest hence why I suggested he try on a boys XL polo. So then we walk across to the men's Levi's.. as we're walking around she's standing there again!! Short petite woman maybe filpino idk... I'm like okay is she following us around thinking we're going to steal.. so my husband finds his jeans he wants he asks her to take the tie lock Off and she says she doesn't have the magnet key to take it off lol I was ready to just leave. But he wanted some jeans so we ask an associate and she goes to find one and she unlocks it then puts the jeans back on the rack instead of handing them To us since helllooo?! We are standing right there waiting. These people definitely need customer service skills. And you shouldn't judge or follow around people either. Anyways he did get 3 pairs of jeans but we were there an hour just because of the "locks" in the clothes. read more

Went into the jewelry department asked a lady for help. Asked her if I could see a watch I was very interested in. (I had already seen it online and i told her that as well) she was already annoyed. She threw the watch at me. I gave it back and walked away. Rudest person I've ever encountered. This is the most unorganized, filthy Macy's I have ever set foot inside, and possibly the worst shopping experience of my life. The mall itself looks abandoned and there was quite a bit of construction going on so the store was hard to get to. Everything was out of place and the employees weren't dressed like other Macy's employees or even wearing name tags. Some of them had masks on their chins instead of their nose and mouth. On December 18th 2021 I just wanted to buy some Santa Clause earrings as a present for my grandma in the nursing home that has a month to live the people at your local Macy's sent me to three separate registers and made me walk all the way through the store just to charge me double of what I should've payed. I am going to summarize my below experience by saying this Macy's location only cares about selling. It's kinda like a used car place. Once you drive it off the lot- they could care less about you. There is no customer service desk like normal department stores have (maybe that should have been my first hint). Also- because of my experience below I am never going to Macy's again. 80% of my disdain is due to Macy's policy's- 20% is due to this exact location and the lack of any customer service. Now my experience: Absolutely ridiculous. I always thought Macy's was to be of par of Nordstrom (or at attempts to be). Sales associate in shoes (indian woman whose name starts with R) was absolutely great initially- helped me find a pair of boots. I explained I am here for business and just need a good pair of boots for work- good quality- not even worrying about price- she confirmed how great the brand is Blah blah blah. 4 days later, the bottom of the boot came unglued (wtf during work and only wore 3 times for 4 hr period). I had no intension of returning them so I threw away the receipt but I checked online and it said I could exchange my boot for the lowest price last sold at stores. No harm, no foul- I totally understand this. I came back to the store hoping they can just exchange the boot for the exact same ones (hoping mine was just a malfunction as I really did like the boot) or exchange for another boot with the credit I would receive I was initially happy to see Indian R sales associate behind the counter- she would remember me and make this much easier (we talked a lot when I bought the shoe so I knew she'd remember me). I explained the issue and told her- I just want the same exact shoes but ones that won't break- willing to try the exact same ones again. She was unhelpful and terse as she explained she could only return if I had either the box or receipt. I was pissed- why on the Macy's website does it say I can exchange the shoe for the lowest price sold if that isn't true?! I asked her this and she unhelpfully said she needed the box or receipt. I went to floor 1 as that usually is where customer service is- what do you know THIS MACYS HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK. Thank god a helpful manager in the MENS Department named Erin helped me. She saw that I used a gift card for the transaction and went to look up that info. Erin actually listened to me and my concern vs the person I actually bought it from. WTF?! In the end- there wasn't anything either could do- however this experience did not have to go this way and have the same resulting experience. I am happy that Erin attempted to help the best she could. Had the woman in shoes actually had the same idea- I would at least think Macy's had good customer service. Instead I had to go to the men's department to get the service I expect from Macy's. I will be emailing the corporate offices soon. Their return policy is misleading. I blame the store for the poor performance (as I said- my experience did not have to be as negative as it turned out to be) and I blame Macy's for misleading me re: their stores return policy. read more

Went in for SPECIFIC bedding that was advertised for $29.99 on Black Friday. Now, I completely understand that employees are tired from long hours, but its not CONSUMERS fault that the sales prices werent removed. I showed them the advertisement, NOWHERE did it say that that specific sale ends at 2pm....so they rang in at $59.99, and they refused to honor the price that was being displayed. So....long time in line.....and left with NOTHING. Ill never spend my money at Macys again! read more

I shop at Macy's so often I should receive mail there. I live so close that I'm literally in there at least once a week. I have a Macy's card and I'm absolutely obsessed with the sales!! This is my go to spot to stock up through out the year for Christmas and birthdays. When prices drop, they really drop and I always leave feeling accomplished without an ounce of buyer's remorse. The only reason I didn't leave five stars was because sometimes the customer service is lacking. Actually most of the time. It's like pulling teeth to get someone to help you out and no matter how busy it is, finding an open register is almost impossible. This store is very hard to get a hold of anyone. Placed an order online to be picked up at store. We were supposed to be back by the pick up deadline. Had to call four or five times to explain my husband was ill and we couldn't be there at that time. So, finally got someone from some department who arranged for later that week. Great! Thank you, who ever you are. However, my husband's health did not improve soon enough for that pick up date. I tried to call the store again, this time no one answered anywhere. So, called online help. The man who answered was very nice, a Mr. Jones was the name he gave me. I explained the situation and he called the store. Several minutes later, he came back on the line and said everything was arranged and even gave me a day later than I asked for to pick it up. The day of the delayed pick up, I received an email from Macy's stating my product was returned and my credit card received a refund. So, I had to reorder at a much higher price. The online personnel are good, not so of most of the store staff. read more

I ordered a gift for my friend as birthday gift. I paid extra for delivering the gift on the birthday but they failed to delivery on the day. I called them, they told me that they'll delivery the gift 3 days after the day. 3 days after I called them again. They told me that they delivered the gift to wrong address. My friend was upset that I didn't buy anything for his birthday. I am really disappointed with Macy's service. My friend haven't received the gift yet. read more

I truly do love Macy's in general but this particular location needs a lot of work. The customer service is absolutely lacking. There are also very few sales associates so finding someone to help can be a bit of a hassle. I came here after the holidays and I literally spent almost 5 minutes on the 2nd floor walking around trying to find someone to help me. Also, maybe its because of being in a run down mall, but this place is super gloomy. It just seems dark and uninviting. Finally, the selection here is quite limited. If you are looking for a better experience, try one of the other Macy's in the area. This one will not make you happy! read more

I only browsed in here to make time go faster as Dillard's Clearance was not open yet. The store was awful in terms of selection, layout , cleanliness. Staff seemed pleasant but this whole store needs a total makeover with better buyers of clothing. I was looking for a formal dress for a wedding but so no real section for women's dresses. Bag selection was awful in terms of brands. So very little in terms of mid range bags like Coach but tons of cheap vinyl bags from various designers like Steve Madden and Calvin Klein. Where's all the nice leather bags? No real denim selection for women's. I really could have just killed that 30 min browsing their store waiting in my car for Dillard's to open by playing on my phone. It was really not worth the 66 seconds it took me to walk from my car door to Macy's store and back. Major waste of my time. This store should be closed as it's pretty sad all around.
