I missed that disclaimer that Windex can damage the frame. This is what I use to clean the glass on all my mirrors, so I thought nothing of it. Some droplets fell on the frame and took the paint right off. I contacted customer service to ask about purchasing touch up paint. Kim said they don't offer it and I would need to color match it myself. Two suggestions: 1. Make your frames more durable, it's possible. This has never been an issue with any other mirror frame I've owned. I've used Windex for decades without issues. 2. If unable to make your frames more durable....then provide the ability to purchase touch-up paint so your customers can get an exact match and keep their products looking their best. If ever I need a new frame, I would not consider your product as a solution, since it doesn't stand up to normal cleaning. Nor, do you provide a real solution to your flaw. Now I'm left with having to find my own color match....what a joke! read more

An excellent solution for my two ugly frameless bath mirrors, which measured 4' by 6' and would have cost $750 each to replace. One factor to consider is the possible need to remove the mirror for redecorating or drywall reconstruction, as was the case for us after Hurricane Helene. Once the frame is on, the mirror cannot be remoced without removing the frame first. As such, we had to reinstall the frame onto the mirror once our restoration was complete. MirrorMate provided excesllent assistance in this, giving us a new set of adhesive tape and positioning blocks at no cost, not even for shipping. But it is a thought worth considering, if you foresee ever having to remove the mirror for any reason after the frame goes on. read more

MirrorMate Frame - Buyer Beware. Not What You Order Is Not What You Get Here's what you can expect: * They may change the frame dimensions you ordered--without explanation or notification. * Poor customer service when something goes wrong. * Frames made of MDF material, which does not tolerate moisture (even light dampness can cause swelling). I had previously ordered a frame from this company a couple of years ago with no issues. Knowing the product is made from MDF, I installed that one in a dry area. This time, I wanted a matching frame for a hall bath that sees minimal moisture and had just been redecorated. The measuring process is straightforward (or so it seems): A. Measure the mirror width (same applies to height). B. Add extra width so the mirror edge is covered. They recommend 5/8" per side (1 ¼" total). I chose 1/2" per side for a slightly tighter look. C. Enter the dimensions into their order form. Simple enough. However, there's a new and poorly explained graphic at the bottom of the order form asking whether the mirror runs across the back of the vanity. Since mine does, I checked it. Here's where things go off the rails: If you check that box, they may override your measurements and change the frame size--without telling you. I reviewed my order confirmation carefully. The dimensions, price, and style were all correct. No indication whatsoever that anything would be altered. When the shipment arrived, I followed their instructions: inspected the box, checked the frame components, and reviewed the invoice. Everything still showed the dimensions I had ordered. At no point--before or after delivery--did they disclose that the frame had been resized. After assembling the frame and bringing it to the mirror, it was immediately obvious: the width was short. Not even close to what I ordered. I contacted customer service within their required 3-day window. Their response? Since I checked that graphic, they assumed my mirror ran edge-to-edge and decided to cut the frame to mirror width--completely ignoring the dimensions I provided. That assumption is flat-out wrong. Not all mirrors are installed edge-to-edge, and more importantly, you don't get to change a customer's order based on a guess--especially without explaining it or notifying them. Even more frustrating, they continued to show my original dimensions on both the order confirmation and the invoice. Nowhere did they document the change they made. My position is simple: they made an error and should replace the frame with the correct dimensions. Instead, they've taken the stance that it's my fault for checking an unclear graphic and have refused to make it right. End result: I'm stuck with a frame that's useless for my application. Final takeaway: If you order from this company, don't assume you'll receive what you actually ordered. And remember--this is MDF, so moisture (even minimal) is not your friend. You've been warned. If I could give this zero stars I would. This is AWFUL QUALITY! It is MDF with paper over the top. Although it's meant to be installed in a bathroom, you cannot get it wet or it will peel. The mitered corners do not fit tightly together, the sides do not fit up against the wall so you see a huge gap on the sides. The mirror clips they sent are too deep, so the frame cannot attach to the mirror if using them. Absolutely NOTHING about this frame kit works - DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME. read more

Assembling and hanging frame requires a dozen exacting steps - not as clearly explained in the instructions as I would have liked. (Package included a number of unidentified parts that were never called for?) Assembly requires at least a hammer and level, a flat surface big enough to glue frame together, and a second person to hold the frame while you level it. The parts didn't fit together perfectly, but pretty close. Worst was trying to peel cover off adhesive tape without pulling entire tape off. I have installed two Mirror Mates frame and in both instances, overall I am satisfied. One, the Venetian Silver Wave, looks high end and is beautiful. I will share the pros, cons and a couple of tips. First, the pros. I needed customer service assistance with both orders as well regarding a few isdues and was happy not only to encounter live humans, but also that they were very responsive and helpful. The several videos available online are very useful. Though both of my mirrors were very large and installed in somewhat confined spaces, I was able, with a little finagaling, to install them without a helper. Assembly was a breeze. In both instances, the frames definitely made a difference and the result, with such a minor addition, is pretty amazing. The cons. The first, and most expensive, of my two frames, arrived damaged as there were two chips in the paint along one edge and, on one corner, a small part of the wood was chipped off. Because I did not want to go through the hassel of reordering and waiting several more weeks for a replacement, I was able to glue one paint chip back into place. For the other paint chip and the wood chip, I dabbed on a little matching silver metallic paint. Customer service provided only a very minimal, token refund. I was told their policy is to replace the damaged part of the frame. However, waiting for replacement parts would have been inconvenient and annoying, given I had already waited a considersble time to receive the original frame. If you don't like visible seams, this is not the product for you. For me, they are clearly visible but it's not a deal breaker. The replacement mirror clips were useless. They actually were more of an obstruction than the original plastic clips and the round padding didn't even make contact with the mirror. On each frame, the white paper that needs to be removed from the double sided tape failed to release easily and cleanly. Tips. Do watch a few videos and read all of the instructions first. For the stubborn white paper, using a tweaser to grab corners was helpful. Note, it appears the plastic white connectors have changed and look and install a bit differently than the ones in most videos. Until I realized this I was confused and thought I had received the wrong parts. If you need it fast, cough up a few more bucks for expedited 2 day shipping. Otherwise, be prepared to wait about 3 weeks. Regarding the glue, a little goes a long way. If you over do it, you will just have more to clean up after. I used the packing materials to place under the corners to protect the floor from the glue. Though both mirrors were intended to sit on an existing back splash, for some reason the second mirror needed to be a little above. Possibly, my measurement was off a hair. For this one, the cardboard corners were a life saver. After you assemble, immediately carefully turn over the frame and remove the excess glue then wait the required drying time. The instructions say 30 minutes. I waited about an hour. Most of the videos suggest using a similar colored marker to color the edges in case they show. In each of my two installations, I did this but because no portion of these edges showed, I could have skipped this step. Oh, I do recommend doing the extra step of ordering samples. For my second frame, Highline Slim Silver Patina totaly looks gold and not quite as high end as my first frame. I definitely regret not ordering samples becsuse it looks nothing like any of the pictures online. My first order, the Venetian Silver Wave, though thankfully I still like it, looks much more shiny in person. Again, overall, this product is a great and easy way to add a little extra pizzazz to a bathroom and beats repairing drywall after removing a large mirror glued to the wall. Regarding reviews on the company website, pictures in the reviews all look very picture perfect. I noted that the review I posted, pretty similar to this one, did not include any of the pictures I attached to my review, including before and after pics as well as pics of the chipped frame. If the company is limiting photos that show issues, I find this to be a poor practice and disingenuous. Only other issue. Now my medicine cabinet looks bare. Going to order a complementary frame to dress that up too because, again overall, the pros outweighed the cons and as such I also still recommend Mirror Mates frames. Update: If it were possible to give a rating for customer service only, I would hands down give Mirror Mates 5 stars for customer service. Apparently, as a followup to the review I left on their website, I received a call asking some questions for clarification and asking if there was something they could do so that I felt satisfied. I'll start by saying I like the look of my finished and hung mirror frame from MirrorMate Frames! However, I was very disappointed that the frame was given to me in a FULLY unassembled state - it was 4 pieces of wood covered in a laminate topping, glue, plastic screws, etc. For a $250 "frame" I was expecting an actual frame. When I questioned the employee at pickup, she told me they all come like that. This is not clear on the website. Further, the directions that accompany the pieces of frame suggest the buyer use a marker to color in unfinished areas that may be visible when the frame is assembled. Such a marker is not provided, and again for $250 I think it should have been at least included. On second thought, I don't think I should need a marker to finish the edges of my $250 frame. That said, assembly wasn't too complicated. But it was messy and involved gluing, hammering, waiting for things to dry, etc. This frame looks nice when hung but it's SUPER cheaply made. The wood frame is cheap wood covered in something made to look like wood (a thin veneer). This also is not specified clearly on the website. I would not buy from them again, as the price is way too high for a DIY project as all they give you is the pieces to make a frame yourself. read more

It changed the look of my bathroom overnight and covered up the chipping silver edge of my old mirror, so it looks brand new. Poor customer service, did not contact me for 5 months, after I received a frame that did not fit despite following their instructions to the letter. The process of putting it together was also much more involved, laborious and messy than described (you need several tools the average homeowner does not have). When I finally did speak to them about the frame that did not fit, they claimed I had measured wrong (although directions did not mention the issues involved) and offered to "recut" a frame that might fit for 50% off, not to accept a return or replace the existing frame, which is apparently $200 worth of trash. The customer representative was not empowered to "do more" to help me, claimed she would contact a manager, but never called back. Cannot recommend. We purchased three large mirror frames for our master bath. The products arrived in perfect condition. All of the mirror frames were carefully marked so there was no question on which frames went to each mirror. The only small issue we had were the mirror clips we ordered to replace our existing clips were too large. We called customer service and they sent us smaller clips right away at no charge. Great customer service!! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is looking to jazz up their existing bathroom(s). So very happy with the way these turned out. read more
