This is a darkish, rather cozy Indian fusion place with a covered patio that overlooks a charming square in De Pijp.
The restaurant has a strong neighborhood feel and would be a good choice for a casual date-night. I wouldn't recommend it for families with small children.
We decided to try a variety of dishes including:
- the spiced jackfruit and cheese empanada
- the beef bitterballen (so unexpected, with curry leaves and served with yogurt)
- the flavorful sweet potato samosas
- the butter chicken
- the tomato and eggplant arancini served with a yummy chutney.
While these were excellent, I found the garlic naan overpowering and would suggest skipping it.
There's an emphasis on original cocktails but we just wanted beers.
Service was good but not particularly friendly.
Notably, the majority of the guests were Indian, which says a lot about the success of the chef's fusion work.
Five stars for atmosphere and food and a big thumbs up. read more
