I made and appointment and on the say of my appointment, the wait time for me to be called was short. While I was waiting, the receptionist even had to deal with a cantankerous man trying to con them out of getting free batteries for his hearing aid. He was difficult. Certainly one of those situation where many receptionists may lose their patience. The way the receptionist handled that situation was quite masterful in customer service; polite and respectful but not letting him get away with that.

Front office doesn't coordinate with back office and is a disservice to the licensed audiologists. Orders get missed, they don't document what goes in or out for repair and don't call when they say they will call. They will openly lie when they don't know where your order is. Expediting means nothing and no one takes responsibility. I hope Kaiser drops this place too.

Both are quiet, but kind. They both seem so patient, and really give their time to patients. I had no clue about hearing, hearing aids, etc., until I learned so much from the doctor in the 2 appointments we went to. He evaluated my father, and found the best cost solution he could, and helped us put that in place. He went above and beyond, in contacting a hearing aid company (in Europe) to ask them if they would let him download a program (not available here in US) to help program my dad's hearing aid. Have had them two years b4 someone showed me how to clean them at home. Turns out the Consumer reports did a comparison amd the best Aides at the most affordable cost can be purchased from a well known membership warehouse on Central Ave. In Montclair. I went there and am extremely pleased with service, product and price. I am hearing more clearly and better-even with background noise. Don't just visit one hearing side place. Check around!

The only complaint I would have is that I have to replace the batteries frequently. As I understand, these also have a device that connects directly to the TV without needing subtitles. Once I received my hearing aids, there was very minimal instruction as to use and maintainance at the time of acceptance. My right hearing aid has been problematic at least 3 times in the first year. This resulted in only office staff adjustments per their experts. Just over 1 year of use my right hearing aid quit working or charging. I brought both hearing aids and charger to be checked out. No log in of equipment or signage of release. 1- 1/2 weeks later I phoned for an update. Very rudely the receptionist, Charlene, informed me "I told you I will get back to you when it is ready!" I also asked to speak with her supervisor. Charlene said "Lilly" is rarely in the office and was very busy with meetings. I requested she have "Lilly" call me. After 3 weeks I am still waiting. They offer "loaner" hearing aids with a charger when available. They thought the left hearing aid and charger that they gave me were mine--but they were not even the same color! The loaners did not work so I returned them the next day. No log or signage upon return either. 4-5 days later I showed up to office very frustrated. A MIRACLE--they had my right hearing aid! No left one and offered me a NEW charger since they couldn't locate mine. At 3 weeks+ I am still waiting for them to locate and return my left hearing aid!! I am also still waiting for "Lilly" to find 5 minutes in her extremely busy schedule to call me back! For the high cost expended for these hearing aids, one would expect better quality and service from this office.

Stunned, we reacted politely and attempted to reschedule. That was also rebuffed. We were sent away from a scheduled appointment for a paid service with no attention and no future appointment, and after we were told to wait because they were behind schedule. In total we wasted over an hour between a round trip to the office and the wait, only to be told we would not be attended to and that they could not reschedule us either because the technician was "over it," "didn't want to deal with it" and we "didn't get the hearing aids from (her)." I did not insult her, raise my voice or protest, we were leaving quietly and she said "you can complain about me all you want; I just don't want to deal with it." "It" was a roughly 15 minute tuneup of a pair hearing aids, which we specified in advance but she obviously did not bother reading. We came on time for a scheduled appointment for a paid service. We had come in for several appointments over the past three years, and while we purchased components we had never bought hearing aids there. The bottom line is that this woman was thinking about her vacation and her retirement and didn't give two shakes about our time, our business or our needs. My wife is a very sweet young woman who has been through being displaced from her home country and losing half her hearing before age 25. She did not need some crotchety old lady telling her that she and her health did not matter.
