I made and appointment and on the say of my appointment, the wait time for me to be called was short. While I was waiting, the receptionist even had to deal with a cantankerous man trying to con them out of getting free batteries for his hearing aid. He was difficult. Certainly one of those situation where many receptionists may lose their patience. The way the receptionist handled that situation was quite masterful in customer service; polite and respectful but not letting him get away with that.

This office has refused to use one of her insurances and as a result she still has not been able to get her hearing aids. If someone has coverage for hearing aids, everything should be done accordingly so the person can afford to get the necessary care that he or she needs.

I have been dealing with severe back pain for…read morealmost a year, and the pain has significantly affected my sleep, daily activities, and ability to work. I attempted to have an MRI done three separate times, but because of my severe claustrophobia, I was unable to complete it. I came to see the doctor because I wanted to know if there were other options, such as sedation, that could allow me to get the MRI or if there were other tests that could help determine what was causing my pain. Instead of listening to my concerns, I felt that I was being dismissed. He questioned why I needed the MRI and what I thought it was going to show. He told me that my options were physical therapy and losing weight and suggested that my weight was likely the reason for my back pain. I understand that my weight is something I need to address, but I know my body, and I know that the severe pain I have been experiencing is not something I should simply be told to live with because of my weight. I was looking for a doctor to listen to me and help determine why I have been in so much pain. When I became upset, he told me to give him a moment while he spoke with a colleague. When he returned, I felt that his attitude toward me was even worse. He asked me what I thought was wrong with me. At that point, I became overwhelmed and walked out because I no longer felt comfortable continuing the conversation. I want to give a special thank-you to the front desk staff. They listened to me when I came out of the room upset, allowed me to explain what had happened, and helped me get connected with Corrina, the nurse. I truly appreciate them taking my concerns seriously instead of ignoring what had happened. I am also very grateful to Corrina, who called me, listened to me, apologized for my experience, and told me she would speak with the doctor and his supervisor. Most importantly, she actually helped me move forward. She was able to get a CT scan ordered as an alternative since I could not complete the MRI, as well as referrals to neurology and neurosurgery to explore other options, including ways I may eventually be able to complete an MRI. My CT results showed that there are issues with my spine that require further evaluation, which was extremely upsetting to me because I felt that I had initially been ready to be dismissed as simply being overweight. I am sharing this review because patients deserve to be listened to, treated with compassion, and taken seriously, especially when they are experiencing severe pain. I am thankful that I spoke up for myself and that the front desk staff and Corrina took the time to listen and advocate for me. Without their help, I don't know if I would have gotten the additional testing and referrals I needed. Thank you to the front desk staff and especially Corrina for treating me with kindness and helping me when I felt like I wasn't being heard.

Awful experience. Pomona location…read more Doctor was a new resident so she was trying to demean me to prove she knew what she was doing. She wasn't the doctor I had chosen so unfortunately I was stuck with her. She dismissed a picture of me almost in anaphylactic shock as "I suggest taking a Claritin." She dismissed how I described living in mold infested housing meant I had symptoms of fatigue, she misunderstood mycotoxins and said "no, if you had a fungal infection I wouldn't been able to tell. I work with those people in a hospital." The unbelievable student assistant/student doctor also laughed at me after asking me what I thought I was diagnosed as. The other doctor didn't even care that the girl asked me that, she was already out of the door and didn't care. I guarantee you she brought the student doctor as an example of "here's a patient who's symptoms aren't real, let's look at her as an example of what happens to people who make up symptoms." Because of this now I'm gonna have to pay out of pocket for actual specialists and not inexperienced residents who dismiss everything. More expensive out of pocket but it will be worth it to avoid this type of BS.

Let me go through each of the following: +Dr. Shah: Dr. Shah is really cool; he introduced himself to me as Dr. Jay, and we are from the same home town, age, and have a similar life background in terms of moving around from the Bay to LA! It was great having that rapport since it was my first time meeting him. But most of all, the best thing was that he ordered multiple tests to help me get to the bottom of my abdominal issues that I have been struggling with for more than half my life! After going to the ER a few times and finding nothing major in my CT scan, I was worried he would dismiss my stomach issues, BUT he did the opposite thing and helped me with diagnosing multiple potential problems. I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!! I feel like I can breathe a sigh of relief and finally get to the root cause of all my abdominal issues! This has not been the case with previous providers...(hence why I switched). THANKS, DR. SHAH! Oh also, Dr. Shah is funny; he made a funny joke on his business card lol. He also was able to take a look at my ankle as I know his expertise is also in sports medicine! He gave me detailed information on stretches to do for my ankle and also some resistance bands. WOW! THANK YOU! Going above and beyond - totally didn't expect that! He also did not rush me and answered all my questions. +Staff/Receptionists: I truly believe it is rare that if you leave a voicemail/message for the receptionists at a doctor's office, that you would receive a call back. Not only do I receive a call back each time, IT IS WITHIN THE SAME DAY! That is WONDERFUL! Keep up the amazing job!! It means so much to be called back; I almost couldn't believe it when I picked up the phone. The young lady who met with me before Dr. Shah was also very friendly and made small talk with me. +Facility & Appointment Logistics: The facility is nice; I think it's probably just a few years old. I experienced no wait (I was even seen EARLY). WOW. Everything was prompt, efficient, and thoroughly explained! I also appreciated how I received discharge papers with such details documented and on my labwork, there were even specific instructions on what I should avoid taking before the bloodwork. I was also told in detail about fasting. My previous provider did not do that! Overall, it has been a wonderful experience so far with this provider and clinic! I am so happy because it is very close to where I live too. Feels like a dream come true to finally have a great doctor and experience with a physician's office! I highly recommend this clinic and doctor. The location is nice also (it's diagonal from a yummy Thai place - see my other Yelp review if you're curious!)

It's my first time here, I try to get to the location and due to some insurance mishaps my appt location and time had been changed a few times. I arrived to the Crossroads location and quickly found out I arrived to the wrong one. Rushed over and even CALLED the front desk to let them know I was arriving late as a courtesy. As I walk in the front girl screening the appt just started repeating over and over how I was late and the tone was just annoyed right off the bat. Even another lady trying to come in was given attitude so quick too, but watched her as she picked and chose who to be nice to when walking in and out. ON TOP OF HAVING A WHOLE CONVERSATION ON HER CELLPHONE IN THE LOBBY out loud in front of us. Luckily they took me. Accepted my insurance and payment, the girls behind the window were a little nicer at least. The back office staff , especially the girl that took me back was much more pleasant. The conversation was there and the overall vibe was better from her. Finally seen Dr Baez. Super pleasant. Still took me in for my rather short 5 min visit and I was very satisfied. She was fully knocked out and in less than a half hour after the procedure they sent her packing. I'm all my mom has, but I'm a small woman. I struggled getting her into the house in her drowsy state. We both fell before we got inside. Why in the hell would you send someone home 15 minutes after they wake up from anesthesia??? This is a sick factory, churning and burning to get the most out of your insurance. The smaller receptionist with the fake eyelashes was also very rude to my mom. The other one was sweet, so the only star is for her.

Both are quiet, but kind. They both seem so patient, and really give their time to patients. I had no clue about hearing, hearing aids, etc., until I learned so much from the doctor in the 2 appointments we went to. He evaluated my father, and found the best cost solution he could, and helped us put that in place. He went above and beyond, in contacting a hearing aid company (in Europe) to ask them if they would let him download a program (not available here in US) to help program my dad's hearing aid. I cannot recommend this doctor/wife team more - please go here, you will not regret it.
