I'm so glad I made that decision, because Addie is awesome!!! She's super nice and really good at teaching! The class I was in had 5 other participants. We first showed proof of vaccination and our ID before filling out the waiver. The lights were dim and the studio itself doesn't have many mirrors. I felt that this promoted confidence because I didn't have to feel self-conscious in the mirror, or worry about how I looked in front of others. Because I'm more cautious, I kept my mask on. I appreciate that there was no pressure to have to take my mask off. Anyway, so we start off with a warmup that focused on flexibility and core strength. Spoiler alert: I lack both, but I did my best! We also learned how to crawl and do some sexy leg work. Then we got to pick a pole and we learned some moves: a spin, how to walk around the pole, and how to uh dance around it? At the end of the class, we learned a routine and had the option of recording ourselves. We even got to try on heels! Uh a little heads up on the heels: your best bet is to size up. I normally wear a 5. The 6 fit me fine, but I might've felt more comfortable wearing a 6.5 or something. I'm really considering taking the 5-6 week series.

VRV3 Studios immediately stood out because of their amazing intro package ($79 for 4 classes or $139 for unlimited classes -- both are to be used within 2 weeks), and it ended up being one of the best decisions I've made. I walked into my first pole class with zero experience and a lot of nerves. Nico, the receptionist, was incredibly welcoming and made me feel comfortable right away. He gave me a tour, explained how everything worked, shared helpful tips for my first class, and really helped calm any anxiety I had before stepping into the studio. In just two weeks, I've taken classes with Melanie, Yifan, Freddy, and McKena, and every instructor has been so patient, encouraging, and accommodating. Each class starts with warm-ups and conditioning to help you understand how to engage your muscles safely before learning tricks and poses. Every instructor has their own teaching style, but they all create such a positive and supportive environment. As someone who is naturally shy, I truly appreciate how inclusive and judgment-free this studio is. I always leave class feeling happier, stronger, and more confident than when I walked in. The studio is clean, has changing rooms, a bathroom, yoga mats, water fountains, yoga cubes and cubbies for convenience. If you've been thinking about trying pole but feel intimidated, this is your sign to book a class. I only wish I had started sooner!

I like the new app, because it makes checking-in a breeze. I've been going to classes here for over 3 years now and the stand out thing is the community. Everyone who trains here is amazing and I'm happy to met so many amazing instructors/classmates over the years. My favorite classes are pole, especially Fluid and Flow and L3+ Tricks. The community is super supportive, welcoming, and fun! I especially love Patricia's and Vix's classes! My only gripe is that the classes do not tell you in advance how filled the class is (I.E it could say XX spots out of 10 filled on the app) before you sign up. When classes have 8+ students, I would have preferred to taken a different class. Otherwise, this review would have been a perfect 5/5.

The process of signing up for the class was a breeze, and communication was always fast and reliable with employees. The class itself was 2 hours and started off with an introduction, mindfulness exercise, and connection exercise. We then stretched and moved gradually on the floor and across the floor. Christina then taught us some basic pole dancing moves, and eventually taught an entire routine. At the end, we learned another dance and she performed a routine for us, which was fantastic!! Her grace, agility, and passion was so amazing! Would HIGHLY recommend booking a private event here! Perfect for a girls night out, bachelorette party, birthday party, etc.

I appreciate how professional this business is + how kind everyone here is! And how pole + dance offers discounts to extend itself to the community in an effort to be more accessible to folks :) It is a bit pricier than other studios but the quality is amazing. My only "complaint" is that at one of the classes I signed up for, there were more students than there were poles so some of us had to share. I'm not sure if this is typical for auditioning instructor community centric classes, but I found it a little odd as I've never experienced that at any studio class before, and I've specifically taken several of the $10 classes. I'm not sure if it's an over-booking issue, or the intent really is to have people share but I prefer to have my own pole. Perhaps a helpful feature that could be implemented in the app is showing the class capacity that you're signing up for, I.e. "8/10 spots"-- a studio I used to go to had this feature and it greatly helped me decide on classes to sign up for. Overall a beautiful space and I look forward to more classes here!

I am a dancer, so I needed more than simply good. Then... I met Shelly! She is amazing. She is both amazing at instructing and performing. She makes us laugh all the time and our regular class is always full of energy and a lot of smiles. If you have never been to a pole class, I totally recommend her. She has background in dancing and pilates, so her pole dancing is very elegant and graceful. If you also have some experience in pole, I totally recommend her too. I really like the focus she places on proper form and technique--it's really nice knowing that you're not laying foundation to future injuries when you're learning more advanced moves from her, because you're learning and doing them right. Shelly is super fun and is also an amazingly talented performer. (If you've never seen her do a spatchcock, holy crud.) We'd start the classes with a thorough warmup, including stretches and various climbs, and the we'd move on to different tricks and spins. Shelly works with each of her students and is also very patient and good with breaking down movies so we understand how to progress. When I failed at life with the helicopter spin (sigh :'( ), she had me work on the cradle spin and also on the steps so I could at least get an idea of what it should feel like/what I could practice to eventually get there. (Honestly, I think I was just scared and/or weaksauce, but mark my words: one day!) Her background in dance is also really awesome--we usually get to learn some choreography towards the end of the class (unless we go overboard with wanting to learn tricks on some days ;). She always finds time with us afterward to stretch and some days, we work on oversplits (ow ow ow ;_; but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!). When Shelly found out that I was moving across the country, she told me about a bunch of teachers at different studios where I could continue to learn (provided that I can trek my way up to NY). :] I miss her classes and hope to be back soon!

She's been one of my first pole dance instructors since 2014 at Sedusa, and have taken other pole classes with her over the years at Phoenix Pole and Aerial Arts when it was open in Berkeley as well. Mz. K has since opened FVT. Mz. K was the first pole teacher I've had who first class, asked if we've had any injuries, and what modifications we can do for them. As an acupuncturist, and Qigong instructor, I really appreciate that level of concern for students since every body is different, and helps us be more conscious of challenging movement for our physical needs. FVT is a terrific space for the pole community to expand on our dance repertoire and skills. One feels like a professional performer in that dance space. Being an actor is no easy profession, and this training is a true testament to that. While you can…read morefind the history online, like the fact that Jim Jarrett is the last teaching protégé of Sandy Meisner, I will spare you the standard bio and share the real story. It took me over a year on a waiting list to get into Jim's class. In the meantime, I took the foundation classes with Philaree, who was instrumental in preparing me for the formal training ahead. Looking back, the wait was absolutely worth it! Through this program, you experience Sandy Meisner's brilliance combined with Jim's grit & determination to produce high-quality actors. I had never acted before I joined this school, but today, I can confidently step into a scene and trust my work. This training gives you the tools and technique to: * Become a brilliant, active listener. * React truthfully under imaginary circumstances. * Use your own life experiences to deepen your work as an actor or director. * Discover your own unique gifts, build a character authentically, and "earn the right" to speak and move on stage or screen. * Discover that the training will inevitably bring out the writer in you. Jim as a teacher is a blessing, but the community here is also another real deal. Because Jim is selective, you are surrounded by a pool of serious student actors who push your limits and inspire you daily. With a limited number of students, Jim invests personally in every single student. Furthermore, this program instills the deep discipline and professionalism required on a real set, reminding you that acting is never solo work; you are accountable to your scene partners and the crew. This training genuinely changed my life, and I will be forever grateful for the experience

I just completed the two-year training at the Meisner Technique Studio and it was without question…read morethe most significant, life-changing educational experience I've ever had. The program gave me real, reliable craft as an actor, but its impact went far beyond technique. The training demands accountability, consistency, and presence -- showing up early, prepared, and fully committed -- and that structure alone was profoundly growth-producing. Just as importantly, the studio provides an exceptionally safe and supportive container for deep personal work. I was able to work through emotional blocks rooted in childhood and adolescence that I had carried for years. I'm also a therapist by trade, and I wish I could prescribe this training to clients because of how powerfully it supports emotional growth, self-awareness, and resilience. Jim Jarrett is an extraordinary teacher -- clear-sighted, demanding, compassionate, and deeply invested in his students' growth. He has a rare ability to see exactly what is happening in an actor and to challenge them in ways that lead to real, lasting change. The community is another invaluable part of the experience. I formed lasting relationships with a cohort of emotionally intelligent, generous, and committed artists, many of whom I continue to collaborate and practice with. You leave the program not only with strong tools, but with a supportive creative community and the confidence to continue developing independently. This training is not for the faint of heart. It requires a serious time commitment and a willingness to prioritize the work, but the return on that investment is extraordinary. There is no ceiling on growth -- the more you put into it, the more you gain. I also highly recommend the optional business class after the formal training. It left me feeling far more prepared to approach auditions, self-tapes, and the practical realities of a professional acting career. TL;DR: Truly life-changing. The best thing I've ever done for myself -- both in terms of craft and personal growth. I cannot recommend this program, or Jim Jarrett, highly enough.
