I've wanted to try pole for years, and finally worked up the courage to book a class after researching studios in the area. VRV3 Studios immediately stood out because of their amazing intro package ($79 for 4 classes or $139 for unlimited classes -- both are to be used within 2 weeks), and it ended up being one of the best decisions I've made. I walked into my first pole class with zero experience and a lot of nerves. Nico, the receptionist, was incredibly welcoming and made me feel comfortable right away. He gave me a tour, explained how everything worked, shared helpful tips for my first class, and really helped calm any anxiety I had before stepping into the studio. In just two weeks, I've taken classes with Melanie, Yifan, Freddy, and McKena, and every instructor has been so patient, encouraging, and accommodating. Each class starts with warm-ups and conditioning to help you understand how to engage your muscles safely before learning tricks and poses. Every instructor has their own teaching style, but they all create such a positive and supportive environment. As someone who is naturally shy, I truly appreciate how inclusive and judgment-free this studio is. I always leave class feeling happier, stronger, and more confident than when I walked in. The studio is clean, has changing rooms, a bathroom, yoga mats, water fountains, yoga cubes and cubbies for convenience. I love VRV3! They have an amazing variety of classes ranging from aerial hoop, pole, flexibility, and conditioning classes. It's been nice to watch the studio grow as well. I like the new app, because it makes checking-in a breeze. I've been going to classes here for over 3 years now and the stand out thing is the community. Everyone who trains here is amazing and I'm happy to met so many amazing instructors/classmates over the years. My favorite classes are pole, especially Fluid and Flow and L3+ Tricks. The community is super supportive, welcoming, and fun! I especially love Patricia's and Vix's classes! My only gripe is that the classes do not tell you in advance how filled the class is (I.E it could say XX spots out of 10 filled on the app) before you sign up. When classes have 8+ students, I would have preferred to taken a different class. Otherwise, this review would have been a perfect 5/5. read more

I have loved every class I've taken here. I started out with 4 classes to experiment with Ariel/ some of the other types of classes they had - and I ended up sticking around because I loved the pole classes. I keep coming back because it's great cross training to my normal gym routine, and it's been so much fun learning something new. A plus has been how welcoming the instructors have been - and really you can tell everyone is just happy to be there and doing their thing. I came across VRV3 Studio on ClassPass and gave pole a try in the summer of 2024 just to try something new and different. I could barely hold myself on the pole but loved the challenge and atmosphere. Fast forward eight months later, I'm now an unlimited member of the studio (highly recommend for overall $ value if you get hooked and go to the studio 3+ times a week), can do cool tricks I thought wouldn't be possible for me to learn, and pretty much spend the majority of my free time here. Why do I love VRV3 and recommend to literally anyone with a body to try it? 1) Super supportive atmosphere and great sense of community. I've been going regularly to this studio since before the pandemic. I started with the idea of trying out pole, not imagining I would progress to intermediate pole, dance on heels, start lyra and silks and even take part to showcases and competitions. It also serves as my gym with some flexibility and conditioning classes. There's so many different classes and styles of teaching, there's something for everyone. And I'm so happy I found such an inclusive community. Only downside is it's not cheap but it does get better when buying big bundles of classes and that's just San Francisco, unfortunately. Was visiting SF from NYC and I knew I wanted to take a pole class to continue my weekly routine. I came across VRV3 Studios and booked an intermediate class with Os, which I loved! He is highly skilled and has a great vibe. I learned a few things in the class that I still apply to my technique today. He was very helpful in assisting me with my Ayesha and other moves. I also like that the poles are really tall at this studio, allowing for more space to climb and do tricks. I'm planning to visit SF again this year and I plan to make another stop at VRV3. I tried out pole at VRV3 and I really enjoyed the studio! I took advantage of the New Student discount where you get three classes for $80 and had a really good time learning about pole and how much strength it requires. Each one of my classes were different and some classes I learned more difficult tricks and other classes were a good ease into pole. The instructor, Vix, was super nice and she made sure to go to everyone's pole to make sure we were on the right path and to give us advice or help. I'd definitely go again and there is a monthly scholarship that VRV3 does that you can apply to and that can help you afford their classes! read more

They are good at tailoring moves to your level but also providing things for you to work on so that you get better and stronger. The studio is always clean and tidy and the decor is really pretty. I still love all the teachers here, but I have to vent: They have a 10min late policy and if you are late, you forfeit your class (meaning you lose $25). Parking is pretty awful in the area so it's not like people come purposefully late. I mean, even if I'm late at Barry's, I'll be able to go into my spot unless the spot has been given away to someone else. But, VRV3 isn't even giving it to someone else who is on a waitlist. This policy would be fine and dandy EXCEPT for the fact that at least twice now, they have cancelled the class I have signed up for, and I've gone there, and they didn't even notify me. They'll give you back your credit when the class has been cancelled, but they won't let you use the space even though there is no one there unless they charge you. This is before they've been rolling away Mindbody, so maybe they'll be able to make amendments to the policy and cancellation issues. One can only hope. These incidents have left me a sour taste. I will continue to come here as I love the teachers, but I probably won't recommend it to my friends as much as before. Edit: I got an email this morning saying further charges could be incurred if I choose to continue to no-show. I didn't 'choose' to no-show, you didn't let me in. read more

Beautiful space with encouraging instructors and equally wonderful students. I stopped by for mixed level pole and flexibility and had such a blast! Nixie's instruction was the perfect balance of enthusiastic and spirited while still being respectful and kind. In addition mixed level classes can be a little all over the place inherently due to the different skillets, but the class still felt cohesive and engaging for all levels. The space was also quite nice. It isn't super large, but it's thoughtfully laid out. I must confess I was a little worried when a lyra class started behind us, but everyone was perfectly accommodated and no one had to dive and roll out of the way to avoid any swinging body parts. ALSO! It's really nice to see black people in a studio. I know not everyone cares about that, (especially since the summer of black squares and thoughts and prayers has long passed) but HELLO representation matters. This studio must be doing something right to attract such a diverse clientele. I've been poling for longer than I'd like to admit, and this is something that has really been lacking in a lot of the places I've trained. Check this place out! I started taking pole classes at VRV3 following a significant foot surgery (bed ridden for 3 weeks). All instructors have been extremely kind & accommodating in helping me navigate my strengths/weaknesses & recovery needs, even as I'm learning it's prob just a continual WiP 5eva to get my foot anywhere near "normal" or "strong" for some of the tricks--which is totally fine! I feel the intro & intro/beginner classes are excellent for first timers, as well as those who have been off &'on the pole wagon for years. All I want to do is practice different sits & tricks. Super impressed! I've been doing pole for over a year, and I wanted to introduce one of my friends to the sport. I brought her to Tink's Sunday intro class, and it was truly one of the best beginner classes I've seen. Not only did we try everything from pole sits to pirouettes, but we even did shoulder drops and fake splits to the ground. The class was such a thorough and digestible way to introduce new dancers to pole!! What made a difference was the class size and how Tink provided individual feedback for each dancer. She even provided progressions for me, as I had a little more experience. I can't wait for Tink to host a workshop in my area - she's fabulous! read more

My fav studio! Having been to multiple studios around the country, I love this one bc it really feels like a close knit community. I especially love that all the supplies you need are complimentary (cleaning spray, towels, dryhands, yoga mats, blocks, straps, water, etc). Updated review after a little more than one year of attendance. VRV3 continues to be a welcoming studio where instructors care for your growth and progress. There seems to also be a consistent community that returns over the year to this studio so it's really nice to see familiar faces and make new friends. They recently expanded their selection of classes to include contemporary, socks (melt-style I like to call it), and reggae choreography. I think the only issue I have so far are having classes that I want to attend be conflicting with each other at the same and only time. I've been going to this studio for a while, and have been really enjoying it. The studio is spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The staff is welcoming and pretty accommodating. The instructors provide a safe and lighthearted environment for classes as well. Overall, I felt that the studio environment is very inclusive for people of all backgrounds and presentations. The location in Lower Haight is very walkable, and there are major bus and MUNI lines going through the area like the 6/7/22/N that makes it accessible by public transit. For years I've been thinking about trying pole classes. A good friend of mine frequents this studio and gave me the push I needed. As I write this, I had just finished my 5th intro to pole class. I've had a variety of instructors: Miss Melanie, Coco Bang, and Yifan. I mainly go to the Sun 9:30AM class. I tried one Wed 7:30PM. All the instructors are very helpful. You can always ask them to go over the technique, and they'll spot you if you need the extra support. I personally like Miss Melanie's class because it's downstairs, and so there's more poles. When the class is pretty full, it's 2 people max per pole. With that being said, I wear my mask and it doesn't get in the way of doing the exercises. There's a lot of sanitizing throughout the class and they have fans and air purifiers. EVE classes are packed since lots of people are free by then, so I bite the bullet and wake up early to go to class. I'm in the most vulnerable state I could ever be in, sports bra, yoga shorts, my love handles are out.... so this is the best workout i've had to date! The community is pretty solid. As far as pricing - it's pretty reasonable! For new dancers - take advantage of their new student package! 3 classes for 80 or 10 classes for 250! they also have a trial drop-in if you check in at the studio for $5. They also have student discounts - show proof of active enrollment every 6 months and they'll give you a pretty good discount! Regular studio drop in is $39, and student discount is $28. Hard part I will say is parking - anticipate at least 5-10 minutes of driving around a few block to find a spot, otherwise the 7, 22 and the church muni train have stops really close to the studio. Discovering pole has been one of the best things to have happened to me as an adult, and this studio, its teachers, and its students have all contributed to it. Pole is beauty, pole is grace. It is strength, it is sensual. It is helping me rebuild confidence and recover from a lifetime of body dysmorphia imposed by a society (ahem ex-boyfriends) that have told me I'm not good enough. I love this studio soooo much. I started going in the summer of 2022 and have gone every week since. I feel so safe here, which is so important when you're half naked and in compromised positions hahah. It's a totally judgement-free zone. There is an upstairs and downstairs level, both have poles throughout the whole floor. Plenty of space and good ventilation. Everything is also very clean. Lots of class times and different experience levels and varieties to choose from. All of the instructors are so kind and patient, and I've learned so much in less than a year. I've taken intro to pole classes at a handful of other studios, and VRV3 is by far the BEST. I've never felt so empowered and supported by the instructors - that's what kept me coming back. If it wasn't for this studio and these people, I would have easily stopped after one class. Did not feel welcome, not a safe space! I used to take regular pole classes when I was visiting SoCal last year. I thought why not take it up again since it's a great workout and I have lots of SW friends I'd love to show off some new moves to! Nope. First off the into/beginner class is basically open gym for all the intermediate learners. I didn't have any help other than struggle to do inverts. The teachers solution to this problem wasn't to give me another task to do but to ignore me completely. I am not recommending this studio to anyone! I'd rather make the trip to Oakland where I am welcome to learn!! read more
