She took the time to listen to my concerns, thoroughly assess my condition, and explain her treatment plan in a way that was easy to understand and gave me confidence in the process. Dr. Lily is the kind of physical therapist who makes you laugh so much, you forget you're actually working. We bonded over our love for reading and somehow turned therapy sessions into plot twists and punchlines. 10/10 would recommend--especially if you like your healing with a side of humor! Thanks to Dr. Lily, I've regained strength, mobility, and hope. She's not only an excellent therapist but also a wonderful person to work with. First Visit: I had been dealing with a respiratory tract infection for almost 30 days and had already been treated by another community care center. Since I had a trip planned, I wanted to confirm whether I was still contagious. After completing my paperwork, I was called in quickly. The doctor reviewed my symptoms--fever that came and went, a bad cough, and throat discomfort. She checked my vitals, body temperature, and BP, which were all normal at that moment. Since I had already completed a round of antibiotics, she advised me to let my body fight the infection, reassuring me that I was no longer contagious. That was a relief, and I left Ally without being charged. Second Visit: After returning from my trip to California, I came back to Ally with a 103°F fever, severe body aches, extreme fatigue, and a baddd cough. This time, they ran every available test for infections and viruses, which confirmed that I had Influenza A, Influenza B, and COVID-19 and Respiratory Tract Infection. Unfortunately, since I had been sick for over a week, the doctor explained that antiviral medication wouldn't be effective. But they saw how severe my cough was, they prescribed an inhaler and cough medication to help manage my symptoms. I was charged $220 but that was in my best interest there are several other options which you can decide accordingly. What I appreciate most about Ally is that they are upfront about costs. Unlike other ERs that seem to prioritize billing over patient care, they inform you of pricing in advance, giving you the option to accept or decline services based on what's in your best interest. I honestly trust them more than my own physician at this point. I once took a friend to another ER where she tested positive for the flu. All they did was checked her vitals and BP before prescribing medication. Later she received a bill for $1,000. I was very ill at the time, so I do not have any pictures of Ally. However, I've attached a screenshot as proof of my visit.

I specifically chose this facility because they advertise draining abscesses and minor surgeries on the website. On this list of services there is an asterisk that notes that only certain facilities provide "silica exams." However, that is the only service that has the note. In my intake notes, I literally listed "doxycycline (for acne)" as a current medication. I also listed amoxicillin as a medication allergy. When I was seen, I explained to the doctor what was going on and that prior to my surgery I'm 2020, it was difficult to obtain a diagnosis and that prior practitioners prescribed skin cream and bactrim, and neither of those worked. The doctor said she couldn't perform a drainage procedure because my symptoms were by the ear and it was "cosmetic." Completely understandable, but that should be one of the services with an asterisk note, at minimum. She offered to prescribe me doxycycline and I said I was already on it. The doctor asked why, and I said it was for acne and it was in my notes. In hindsight I wish I'd asked why she hadn't read the notes. She then offered amoxicillin, and I told her that in my notes I listed that medication as an allergy. Then she proposed bactrim, despite the fact that I just said I'd been prescribed that for this ear issue before and it did not work. At that point I said I would just leave and I wanted my copay refunded. There was no issue receiving the refund and the girl at the front desk was very apologetic. I wasn't angry with the girl at the front desk and told her it was not her fault. I understand if the procedure couldn't be done at the facility. My issue is that I cannot find any reasonable excuse why a physician would not have read the intake notes listing my current medications and allergies. I have concern for future patients and sincerely hope this issue is resolved internally. I understand this is a high paced, stressful environment but things like reading intake notes and understanding current medications and allergies shouldn't be overlooked. Edit: Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews beforehand because I was in so much discomfort I was focused on finding a facility I thought could provide treatment. In reading other reviews, it appears the standard response is "I'm sorry to learn your experience with Texas MedClinic Urgent Care did not meet your expectations." Anticipating this review will receive a similar response, I'd like to point out the Texas Occupations Code defines Medical Records as "all records relating to the history, diagnosis, treatment, or prognosis of a patient." Additionally, Practicing Medicine is defined as "the diagnosis, treatment, or offer to treat a mental or physical disease or disorder or a physical deformity or injury by any system or method, or the attempt to effect cures of those conditions..." I say this because expecting a physician to review the medical records I provided for this specific care is not an expectation specific to me or some unsaid expectation I had in mind. The State has regulations, laws, and definitions for a reason. One of those reasons is to provide notice to physicians and the public about care. So, to save anyone time in issuing the response I anticipate, I want to make it clear this was not a personal expectation. The expectation I had was that a physician providing care would read my intake notes, which is simply a basic component of practicing medicine.

Reckless and Dangerous Experience at Baylor Scott and White Urgent Care…read more I scheduled an appointment through the Baylor Scott and White app, believing I would receive care at a clinic that was fully part of the Baylor Scott and White network. When I arrived, I was shocked to learn they did not have access to the Baylor Scott and White system. Even more confusing, the building only had signage for Baylor Scott and White Urgent Care. There was no mention of NextCare or any indication that this was operated by a third party. From a patient's perspective, there was no reason to assume this was anything but a regular Baylor Scott and White facility. I came in with intense lower abdominal pain. During the brief evaluation, the provider stated it could be my appendix. That alone should have triggered immediate escalation, lab testing, or at minimum a referral to the emergency room. Instead, I was sent home with nothing but a prescription for a muscle relaxer. There were no labs, no imaging, and no follow-up instructions. I was in the same amount of pain I came in with, but now with a medication that could have masked the symptoms of a serious emergency. Thankfully, I trusted my instincts. About fifteen minutes later, I went to the Baylor Scott and White Clinic on Slaughter. The staff there took my condition seriously and quickly referred me to the emergency room. A CT scan confirmed I had acute appendicitis. I underwent emergency surgery to have my appendix removed later that day. Had I followed the guidance of the first provider and taken the muscle relaxer to rest at home, my appendix could have ruptured. That kind of delay could have led to a life-threatening infection. This was not just a poor experience. It was dangerous and could have resulted in serious harm. The most concerning part is that the provider openly acknowledged the possibility of appendicitis but still made the decision to send me home without running a single test. That is unacceptable. Masking the pain of a potentially fatal condition rather than investigating it further shows a complete lack of clinical judgment. I will be speaking with a patient ombudsman and formally submitting a complaint to Baylor Scott and White leadership. The fact that their app directed me to this location and their name is on the building means the care that happens there reflects directly on them. Patients should not be misled into thinking they are receiving Baylor Scott and White care when they are not. There needs to be full transparency about who is providing care and what services are actually available at the location. This experience was extremely unsettling. I trusted the Baylor Scott and White name and almost suffered the consequences of that trust being misplaced. I hope this review serves as a warning to others and as a call for change within the system. Patients deserve competent, transparent, and safe medical care. I nearly did not receive it.
